1. INTRODUCTION
The Alpinestars’ heated glove models HT-3, HT-5 and HT-7 HEAT TECH Drystar®are motorcycling gloves
(hereinafter “Gloves” unless otherwise specified) designed to offer improved thermal comfort to the
motorcycle rider in cold and/or wet weather conditions due to the innovative heating technology embedded
inside the Gloves. This technology is made of ultra-fine enameled heating yarn elements, which due to their
enhanced performances in terms of resistance, heating efficiency and safety, provide unrivalled levels of
warmth and comfort without the bulk typically caused by excessive layers of materials.
The Gloves’ electronic components, except for the battery (5), are waterproof and equipped with safety
systems to provide controlled and even heating, thereby avoiding overheating and overcharging anomalies.
The Gloves can be operated safely in various weather conditions due to the combination of selected
materials, premium construction techniques and innovative heating technology.
The Gloves are powered by lightweight, rechargeable and powerful Lithium Polymer batteries.
2. EN13594:2015 – IMPORTANT USER INFORMATION
These Gloves are certified to EN13594:2015 and as such are considered PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
under European Regulation (EU) 2016/425. An EU Type examination has been conducted on these Gloves
using the notified body indicated on the TABLE on back cover of this User Guide. This User Guide is important
as it will help you select the correct size of the Gloves and maintain them throughout their lifespan.
PROTECTION LEVEL
EN13594:2015 certified gloves are available with two performance levels of protection, Level 1 and Level 2.
Level 2 gloves have superior performance resistance and certified knuckle protection, however they may be
heavier and bulkier. For Level 1 gloves, certified knuckle protection is optional and is declared in the
marking. You should choose gloves which provide the best performance levels of protection suitable for the
type of riding you will do.
TABLE on back cover: please consult it together with the glossary found on the inside cover of
this User Guide to find the most suitable protection according to the Gloves’ predicted use.
It is essential to read this User Guide carefully, to understand it completely and
to follow the advice and WARNINGS. If you have any questions, please contact
Alpinestars.
The Gloves are not suitable for children under the age of 16 years. Do not allow
children to play with the Gloves or their accessories.
As with any electrical device, misuse of the Gloves or failure to follow the instruc-
tions may cause overheating, fire or injury to you or your property.
Do not attempt to repair any electrical part or component of the Gloves. This will
void the warranty and can result in temperature control malfunctions, which may
cause minor to severe burning.
Damaged heating elements may cause the Gloves to heat intermittently or completely
fail to heat. If the heating elements do not operate properly contact Alpinestars.

3. LIMITATIONS ON USE
Despite the protection levels indicated above, Gloves will ONLY PROVIDE LIMITED PROTECTION against
abrasion or lacerations by blunt objects or road surfaces and (if ‘KP’ declared) small impacts.
Users must be aware that no glove can provide complete protection against injury of any kind in
the case of falls, collision, impact, loss of control of the motorcycle or other events, in particular
as the hands or fingers may be trapped under the motorcycle or impact with other obstacles
during an accident.
No guarantees, express or implied, are made regarding the Gloves ability to avoid the risk of
injury while riding.
These Gloves have been designed exclusively for motorcycling use and are not for use in other sporting,
non-sporting or industrial activities.
Do not submerge the Gloves in water while wearing the Gloves.
Users should be aware that different environmental conditions including high or low temperatures can
change the characteristics of the Gloves and may reduce their performance. In particular, the use of glove in
a cold environment (below 0°C/32F) will significantly reduce the battery duration.
The Gloves and their components, in particular the batteries found on the heated Gloves, may not activate
if frozen or stored in extreme cold. Should this happen, allow the Gloves and their components to thaw and/
or warm up before attempting to use or activate the heated Gloves.
4. SIZING
In order to offer proper protection to the user, it is important that the Gloves fit correctly. Gloves are sized
based on the circumference of the palm without the thumb as shown in Figure 1. Take this measurement of
your own palm and then use Table 1 to convert this to the letter size (S,M,L) which is on the glove marking.

Since the Gloves are partially made of leather, when selecting your size remember that, with normal use/
wear, the Gloves will stretch naturally to accommodate the fit of your hands. These Gloves are considered
winter gloves and, accordingly, the fit should be slightly looser to allow air to circulate through the glove
insulation.
Prior to riding, the Gloves must be put on and fastened as instructed above. At all times when riding, make
sure that your Gloves are correctly and tightly fastened.
Remember that for sensible motorcycling the full body must be protected and as such the Gloves should be
worn with correctly CE certified and fitting motorcycle clothing, boots and a homologated helmet.
For further instructions on the correct use of the HT-3 HEAT TECH Drystar®Gloves, HT-5 HEAT TECH Drystar®
Gloves and HT-7 HEAT TECH Drystar®Gloves, see the sections below.
6. GLOVES OVERVIEW
The Gloves are packaged with an Alpinestars USB Charging Cable and two 7.4V Lithium Polymer batteries.
These items are also provided as Alpinestars spare parts. Standard compatible USB cables and 7.4V
batteries – provided that they fit into the pocket (4) - may be used, however the performance of such
standard parts are not guaranteed and Alpinestars cannot confirm the suitability of the performances of
such alternative spare parts.
The Gloves feature: a heating LED control button (1) positioned on the cuff area. On the inner side of the cuff,
covered by the wrist adjustable closure flap (2), is located the pocket (4) for the battery installation, secured
by a closure with a hook and loop in the inner edge of the cuff (3). The battery (5) presents two ports, a
battery DC port (6) for the connection with the glove Glove DC plug (9) inside the pocket and a battery USB-C
port (7) for the connection with the USB Charging Cable (8). On the battery there is a Battery LED indicator
(10) to indicate charging status.
Figures below show the locations of the above:
5. FITTING
It is strongly recommended that the fit of the Gloves is checked before purchase, preferably with the jacket
that they will normally be worn with. Select a starting size of Gloves from Table 1, put the Gloves on and
adjust the fastening(s).
Glove fastenings are located at the cuff and/or the wrist. The wrist fastening should be pulled as tight as is
comfortable and then secured with the hook-and-loop strap. The Gloves’ wrist fastening is correctly
fastened when the cuff and strap overlap and no skin is exposed. The cuff fastening should be closed tight
such that it follows closely the jacket sleeve (if worn above the jacket) or your arm (if worn beneath the
jacket). Check that the Gloves cannot be removed easily by pulling it with your other hand. It is recommended
to wear these UNDER your jacket if you ride with your wrist lower than the elbow and OVER your jacket if
your wrist is higher than the elbow.
Open your hand flat. There should be no material in contact with the tips of your fingers. The glove should
feel tight, but not restrictive so as to impede sufficient movement of the hand. In a second step make a
clenched fist or grip a motorcycle handlebar. Check that there is none or only slight contact at the fingertips
and that there are no large folds of material on the palm. Ensure that there is enough finger movement to
correctly operate the motorcycle controls.

When riding keep the battery in the pocket (4) with the waterproof zipper closed,
as this will allow for operating reliability when using the Gloves in wet weather
conditions.
These Gloves are not intended for use in warm weather. To avoid placing you at
risk of overheating do not use the Gloves if the weather/ambient environment tem-
peratures is above 30°C/86°F.
WARNING!
WARNING!
To enable the Gloves to function suitably in cold weather and subject to conditions such
as the external weather/ambient environment and the riding speed, the heating temper-
ature that the Gloves may reach on the RED High heating level can be as high as 70°C/
158°F maximum. Accordingly, use the Gloves only in the pre-defined conditions and ad-
just the heating level to the heating level appropriate to you and that will not cause you
discomfort or distraction while riding. If while riding you become aware that the heating
level is creating discomfort, stop your ride and adjust the heating level.
Connect the USB Charging Cable (8) to an AC adapter and then to the power source. Do
not use outdoors or in damp areas. Do not alter or subject the USB Charging Cable (8) to
damage or stress. Never alter the components.
While charging, always ensure that the USB Charging Cable (8) is properly connected to
both the USB-C port (7) and the USB port on the AC adapter is securely inserted in the
power source.
Alpinestars recommends to always use the original Alpinestars USB Charging Cable (8)
and battery (5) parts.
A fully charged battery is recommended before the first use of the Gloves.
Do not turn on or wear the Gloves during the charging process. It is essential that the
Gloves are switched off before starting the charging process.

10. HEALTH & ALLERGY ADVICE
Persons who experience any discomfort while wearing the Gloves must remove the Gloves immediately and
seek medical advice before resuming the use of the Gloves.
Persons who have skin allergies to synthetic, rubber or plastic materials that may be found in gloves should
monitor carefully their skin each time the glove is worn. In the event any irritation of the skin occurs,
immediately stop wearing the Gloves, and seek medical advice.
These Gloves should not be used if you suffer sensitivity to heat or medical vul-
nerabilities such as diabetes, heart conditions, skin changes related to illness or
have scarred skin in the back of hand area. Do not use the Gloves after taking any
pain-relieving medication, drugs or alcohol.
These Gloves are not intended for use in warm weather. To avoid placing you at
risk of overheating do not use the Gloves if the weather/ambient environment tem-
peratures is above 30°C/86°F.

IMPORTANT!
11. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The Gloves, including their components, are advanced pieces of motorcycling
equipment and should not be treated like a normal motorcycle garment. Similar
to one’s motorcycle, the Gloves and its components must be cared for and main-
tained, so that they may function correctly.
WARNING!
CLEANING
To clean the Gloves, firstly switch the Gloves OFF and remove the battery (5) before starting to clean the
Gloves. Thereafter follow the below instructions:
The Gloves and/or their components should NOT be
• washed in a washing machine
• submerged in water
• tumble dried
• ironed
• cleaned with any chemical or abrasive cleaning agents

16 EN
Keep batteries, cables and adapters away from water.
Gloves should be regularly cleaned using a damp cloth. It is preferable to clean the Gloves after each use as
such prompt cleaning will avoid the build-up of dirt, insect marks and/or grease marks over time and
facilitate easier cleaning. The longer such dirt is left on the Gloves, the harder it will be to remove such dirt.
Do not clean under running water. Follow the washing instructions located on the Gloves. If deeper cleaning
is needed, always use a soft, non-abrasive, damp cloth with neutral soap and use gentle circular movements
to remove or reduce the amount of dirt on the gloves. Do not aggressively rub the dirty area and do not use
detergents (other than neutral soap) nor chemical agents or solvents for cleaning.
After cleaning the Gloves should be allowed to dry naturally in a warm, well ventilated area.
During the drying process do not place the Gloves or its components in contact with fire or heaters or other
heat sources, as such actions will compromise the qualities of the Gloves.
Do not wring the Gloves out, as such actions will compromise the qualities of the Gloves.
Do not let the Gloves or their components come into contact with solvents (including petrol) as this may
degrade the Gloves materials and/or affect the colors.
Be careful when handling sharp objects which could pierce, cut or tear the Gloves as such damage to the
Gloves may compromise:
- the electrical or heating elements of the Gloves, which will cause the Gloves to malfunction.
- the waterproof lining and thereby compromise the waterproofness of the Gloves.
Before wearing and using the Gloves again, make sure they are completely dried out.
Do not reconnect the Glove DC plug (9) to the battery (5) until the Glove DC plug (9) is completely dry.
Keep battery dry at all times. If the battery gets wet, do not turn it on. Allow it to dry completely in a cool,
dry place and try activating battery before re-inserting into the Gloves. Like any electrical item, the battery
will get damaged if submerged in water.
MAINTENANCE
Periodically (preferably after each use) inspect the Gloves for any damage such as areas of excessive
material wear or abrasion, holes, open seams or open stitching, and check that all fastening systems are
functional. In the event of any such damage or should the fastening system no longer function, do not use
the Gloves as the Gloves will require replacing.
In the event of an accident the same checks must be conducted as above before the Gloves are reused.
All protective items are subject to degradation in the long-term through factors such as use, wear, accident
and abrasions, level of care and storage and/or common environmental conditions that effect the life span
of such items. As such Gloves have a defined lifespan and it is recommended that the Gloves be inspected
every five years from the date of first use, by an Alpinestars’ authorized dealer.
The Lithium Polymer battery is rated for 300+ recharge cycles before you will need to replace it. Like other
rechargeable batteries, these batteries may eventually require replacement. Contact Alpinestars or an
authorized Alpinestars Dealer to order additional batteries.

17 EN
Do not attempt to repair any electrical Glove part or component. This will void
the warranty and can result in high temperature malfunctions, which may cause
minor to severe burning.
WARNING!
12. STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
When not in use, store the cleaned Gloves in a clean, dust-free environment at room temperature (15-25°C
/ 59 – 77 °F). Ensure that the Gloves are completely dry before storing. To prevent mildew or other
degradation to the Gloves, store in a dry and well-ventilated area. Do not store inside a sealed bag or
container, or underneath heavy objects.
Store the Gloves with the battery (5) disconnected.
When storing the Gloves and their components, do not store in places that will expose the Gloves and their
components to extreme heat sources such as fires or flames and neither to extreme cold sources that could
result in the Gloves or its components from freezing.
It is also recommended to fully charge the batteries before storing for extended periods of time.
When handling the Gloves be careful not to drop or in any manner cut, tear or pierce the Gloves. Protect the
Gloves against sharp objects.
Similarly, when transporting the Gloves, the above care should be taken and in particular not to place heavy

13. LIFESPAN
The materials used by Alpinestars in its products are selected to maximize durability.
Properly caring for your Alpinestars products will also help ensure the longest possible lifespan.
Notwithstanding all products have a limited lifespan and are subject to degradation and natural breakdown
of materials in the long term, through factors such as use, wear and tear caused by your riding style,
accidents, abrasions, how well you care for your product and storage and/or common environmental
conditions - all of which effects the practical lifespan of products.
For safety issues and to ensure that the above factors have not reduced the integrity or product performance
levels, Alpinestars strongly recommends replacing your gloves 5 years from date of first worn.
Gloves having plastic parts has a limited lifespan due to stresses of riding and/or the elements such heat or
sun light exposures. Leather or textile materials will over a period of time loose their structural integrity
which will compromise their performance, fit and safety.
As written in this manual, always before any use, check the product for any damage to any parts of the
product. Regardless of the age of the product, do not use any product if you notice any damage, if the
product no longer fits correctly or is lacking its structural integrity.

14. DISPOSAL OF THE GLOVES AT THE END OF THEIR LIFE SPAN
The product life span for Gloves, is strictly related to their use, cleaning and consequent material
degradation. At the end of your Glove lifespan be sure to dispose of it following your local/national refuse
regulations and dispose it in an appropriate manner.
To dispose of the Gloves in the appropriate manner, at the end of your Gloves’ life span follow your local/
national refuse regulations.
Moreover, as these Gloves contain electronic components, these Gloves must be disposed of in accordance
with the appropriate legislative or environmental measures adopted by the public waste disposal services,
operating in your territory, for electronic components. A correct waste disposal of the Gloves will favor the
reuse, recycle or disposal of the materials from which the Gloves and electronic components are made of.
Thereby allowing for the most environmentally friendly recycling or appropriate waste processing of the
Gloves, limiting any negative impacts on the environment and risks to human health.
For Europe, the European Directive 2012/19/EU requirements apply. The symbol of the crossed bin displayed
on the battery (5) and on the USB Charging Cable (9) indicates the electronic components of the Gloves
which, at the end of their life span, must be separately disposed from other waste, for appropriate waste
processing and recycling. The rider must therefore take the battery (5), USB Charging Cable (8) and all other
electronic components marked with the crossed bin, to those waste disposal sites assigned for the disposal
of electrical and electronic waste or return the Gloves to an Alpinestars Authorized Dealer for disposal in
accordance with the local waste requirements. The unauthorized disposal of the Gloves on behalf of the
rider, entails the application of fines pursuant to the current European laws.
