WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
• Do not try to light any appliance.
• Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use

• Immediatelycall your gas supplier from a
neighbor’sphone. Follow the gassupplier’s
instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire
department.
Installationand servicemust be performed by a
qualifiedinstaller, service agency or the gas supplier.

2. NeverUseApplianceforWarmingorHeatingtheRoom.

SURFACE COOKING UNITS
1. UseProper Pan Size—Thisappliance is equipped
withone or moresurface burners ofdifferent sizes.
Selectutensils having flat bottoms largeenough to
coverthesurfaceburner flame. Theuseofundersized
utensils will expose a portion of the burner flame to
direct contact and may result in ignition of clothing.
Properrelationship of utensil to burnerwill also
improveefficiency.
2. NeverLeaveSurfaceBurnersUnattended—Boilover
causes smoking and greasy spillovers that may
ignite.
3. ProtectiveLiners—Do not usealuminum foil to line
aroundburners.Improper installation of theseliners
may result in a risk of electrical shock, or fire.
4. GlazedCooking Utensils—Only certaintypes of
glass, ceramic, earthware, or other glazed utensils
aresuitableforrangetop service withoutbreakingdue
tosudden change in temperature.
5. UtensilHandlesShouldbe Turned Inward and Not
ExtendOverAdjacentSurface Burners—To reduce
the risk of burns, ignition of flammable materials, and
spillage due to unintentional contact with the utensil,
the handle of a utensil should be positioned so that it
isturned inward, anddoes not extend over adjacent
surfaceunits.
