2 INTRODUCTION
The Amprobe AC F 3000 AK is an AC currentprobe utilizing Rogowski
principle.The Amprobe A C F3000 AK can be used to measure AC current
up to 3000 A when used with a DMM,oscilloscope,orotherrecording
instruments.The flexible measuring head allows currentmeasurements on
conductors thatare hard to reach orinaccessible using typicalclamp-on
currentprobes.
The Amprobe A C F3000 AK provides a low-voltage,(3 V AC),output
proportionalto the currentbeing measured.Three selectable ranges
provide directreadings for30 A,300 A,and 3000 A full scale.

4 OPERATION
4.1 BATTERY INSTALLATION
Never replace batteries with flexible measuring head installed on
conductor to be tested or outputconnected to a display device.
Never operate the unitwithoutthe battery cover fitted.
The Amprobe A C F3000 AK requires two AA MN1500 LR6 alkaline
batteries foroperation.The battery compartmentis accessed from the
rearof the electronics enclosure.
The batteries mustbe replaced when the LED is lit continuously orfails to
lightup.Ensure thatthe Amprobe A C F3000 AK currentprobe is away
from any currentcarrying conductorand the outputis disconnected from
any otherequipment.
Using a coin ora similartoolturn the battery lock ¼turn until the dot
aligns with the unlock symbol.The battery covercan now be removed.
Install the batteries ensuring thatcorrectpolarity is observed.Replace the
battery coverand turn the battery lock until the dotaligns with the lock
symbol.
4.2 MEASURING CURRENT WITH THE AMPROBE
ACF3000 AK
Read safety section ofinstructions before operating this product
Ensure conductor to be tested is de energised.
Connectthe outputof the electronics to the VOLTS inputof the DMM or
otherdata recording device.

The flexible currentprobe is notfor use on conductors with a
potentialofover 600V.
Wrap the flexible measuring head around the conductorto be tested,
close coupling.Energize circuit undertest.Formostaccurate
measurement,centerthe flexible head around conductor.Locate coupling
away from nearby conductors.
Do notuse the flexible currentprobe to measure bare
conductors unless wearing protective clothing suitable for
high voltage work.Always use appropriate equipmentfor
personalprotection.

4.3 OPERATION
Selectthe AC VOLTS range on the DMM (orotherdevice).
To activate unit,move switch from the “off”position to the required
measuring range.If the value of currentbeing measured is unknown,first
selectthe 3000A range and then reduce accordingly.
4.4 BATTERY STATUS
Battery status is indicated by an LED on the frontof the probe.This LED
will flash one time when the unit is activated.The length of time the LED is
lit will increase as battery life decreases.Momentary lighting of LE D
indicates batteries are good.Continuous lighting of LED indicates low
battery,replace batteries soon.No lighting of LE D indicates batteries are
dead,replace immediately.
5 MAINTENANCE
Do notuse the Amprobe ACF3000 AK if damaged.
Always inspectthe electronics unit,connecting cable,and flexible
measuring head fordamage before use.
To avoid electric shock,keep the Amprobe A C F3000 AK clean and free of
surface contamination.Use IsopropylAlcoholto clean the electronics unit
and measuring head.
Make sure the flexible measuring head,connecting cable,and electronics
enclosure are dry before furtheruse.

2 INTRODUCTION
Le Amprobe A C F3000 AK estune pince flexible de courantutilisantle
principe Rogowski.Quand il estcombiné à un multimètre numérique,un
oscillographe ou un autre instrumentenregistreur,le Amprobe A C F3000
AK peutêtre utilisé pourla mesure d ’ intensitésde courantj usqu ’ à3000 A.
La tête flexible permetla mesure même surdes conducteurs difficilement
accessibles,voire totalementinaccessibles avec des pinces de courant
conventionnelles.
Le Amprobe A C F3000 AK présente une sortie de tension (tension
alternative de 3 V) proportionnelle à l’intensitéà mesurer.Trois plages de
courantpermettentla lecture directe : 30-A,300-A ou 3000-A.
