A.Introduction

tal Display (LCD) monitorandaDVD player.Theunit appliesthe
latest state ofthe art electronics and isdesigned foruse in vehicles,
hotels,officesoryourhome.Theunitis constructed toprovide years
of reliable,trouble-free service, andiscompact sothatyou can take
it with you anywhere and is designed for quickand easyinstallation.
Please read the entireinstruction manual supplied with thisproduct
prior to using. The documentationwillassist you in installingthe sys-
temproperly to obtain thebest equipment performance. Pleasesave
this manual for later use.
B. Cautions and Warnings
1. Placement
Toprevent fireorelectric shock,donotexpose this appliance to
rainor moisture. Keep the unitawayfrom strong magnets, heat
sources,directsunlight, excessive dust.If the unit is brought di-
rectly from acold toa warmlocation, moisturemay condense in-
side theunit. When youmoveitfromacoldtoawarm location,
waitforabout one hour beforeoperating theunit, orremove the
disc andleave the unit turned on until the moisture evaporates.
2. Installation
Ensure that the D2017PK portableDVD player is used in accor-
dancewiththeinstructions andillustrations provided inthis manual.
3. Objects and Liquids
Do not push objects ofany kindinto the unit throughopenings;
do not spill or sprayliquid ofanykind on or in the system (this
mayresult in a fire or electric shock). Do not place anything
heavy onthe unit. Toensure proper ventilation and proper

operation,never cover or blocktheslots and openings with acloth
or other material. It is hazardousto replacethebattery incorrectly.
Replacethebatteryonly with thesame or equivalenttype.In order
to protect the environment, please dispose the batteryproperly.
Do not use the unit in temperatures higher than 95 degrees Fahr-
enheit or 35 degrees Celsius.
4.Disassembly
Donot attempt to disassemblethe unit.Thereisa riskofelectric
shockand/orexposure to LaserRadiation. Contactqualifiedser-
vicepersonnel ifyour system needs repair.
5.Cleaning Unit
Whencleaning,makesurethesystem isunplugged fromthepower
source. Donotuseliquid cleaners or aerosolcleaners. Usea cloth
lightly dampenedwith waterfor cleaningtheexterior ofthe system
only.
6. Discs
Do not use irregularlyshaped discs such asheart orstar-shaped
discs as theymay cause the unittomalfunction.Donotstickpaper,
tapeor glue on the disc. Do not expose thedisc to direct sunlight
or heat sources. Do not touchthe surface ofdisc. Handle thedisc
by itsedge. Cleanthedisc bywipingthedisc from the center out
with acleaning cloth. Removethe disc from the unit and store it in
its case after playing. Some playbackoperationsofdiscs maybe
intentionally fixed bysoftwareproducers. Since this unitplays discs
according to the disc contentsthesoftwareproducers designed,
some playbackfeatures maynot be available. Also refer to the in-
structionssuppliedwiththediscs.

7.RegionalCoding
Both theDVDplayer and disc are coded by region. These
regional codes must match inorder for thedisc toplay.Ifthe
codesdon’t match, the disc won’t play. This unit’s code is region

D. Powering and Installation
1. Powering the system indoors (Refer to Figure 1)
Plug one end of theAC to DC adapterinto the DCinputjackon the
left side ofthe mainunit, then plugthe otherend intothe 110~240V
AC power receptacle.
2. Powering the systemin a car
Plug one end ofthe DC Power adapter into the DC input jackon
theunit, then plug the other end intothe vehiclepower outlet.

E. Vehicle Installation
Installingthe DVD Player onto the seat back ina car
(Refer to Figure 2)
1).Unfoldthe carrybag, andplace the DVD player on the bag
beneaththe elastic straps. Ensurethat the unit’scornersare
secured bythe elasticstraps.
2).Securetheupper portion of the carry bag toheadrest support
barsusingthe headreststrap.Adjust the headreststrap untilthe
bag isfirmly secured.
3). Securethelowerportionofthecarry bagto the vehicleseat back
using the seatback strap.Adjust the seat back strap until the
bag isfirmly secured.

power switch. The powerindicator will light.
b.Openthedisctrayby sliding theOPEN switch inthe directionof
the arrow. Place a disc in the traywith label sidefacingup.
c. Close thetray bypressingthe area marked PRESS”.Theunitwill
load the discand start playing.
d. Rotate VOLUMEto adjustthe LCD’sbrightness and the DVD
player’svolume.

I.Menu
A DVD is divided into sections called titlesandchapters. When you
playaDVD’sroot menu of thediscwill appear on the screen of your
TVor Monitor. Thecontentsofthe menu varyfrom disc to disc.
Press MENU duringplaybackto display the menu. Some DVDs only
allowyou to select disc playbackoptions using the DVD root menu.
J.Display
1. PLAYINGTIME AND REMAININGTIME
a. Duringplaybackpress the ‘DISPLAY’button to displaythe cur-
rent Title Number (1), the total Number ofTitles (2), the current
ChapterNumber (3), thetotal Numberof Chapters (4), andthe
Playing elapsedTimefor thetitle (5). Theheadingwill disappear
automaticallyafter 3 seconds ifDISPLAYbuttonis not pressed.

Audio Language
2. SUBTITLE
Duringdisc playbackpress ‘SUBTITLE’toselectthe subtitle language
youdesire*,withthecurrentSubtitle LanguageNumber(1) andthe
total Number of Subtitle Languages(2)displayed. Ifthere are mul-
tiplelanguagespress ‘SUBTITLE’againto selectanother subtitlelan-
guage.Toturn subtitles OFF,press the ‘SUBTITLE’button until ‘Sub-
titleOff’isdisplayed.TheSubtitledisplay willdisappearautomatically
ifthe ‘SUBTITLE’button is not pressed again within 3 seconds.
*Some DVDsonly allowaccessto this functionthrough theDVDmenu
3. AUDIO
During playbackpress ‘AUDIO’to select theaudio languageyou de-
sire*, with the current Audio Channel Number (1) and the total num-
ber of AudioChannels(2)displayed.PressAUDIOagain to select
anotheraudio language. The audiodisplaywill disappear automati-
callyifthe ‘AUDIO’button is not pressed within for 3 seconds.
*SomeDVDsonly allow accessto this functionthrough theDVD menu.

K. Playing Audio CDs
Whenplayingan audio CDpressthe DISPLAYbuttonconstantly on
theremoteto viewtimeinformation.Theoptions belowappear on
screendisplayinsequence toshow youwhatinformationis available
usingthis function.

Single Elapsed:The current track playingand the elapsed time of
that track willbe displayed on the screen.

USING THE1/ALLREPEATFEATURE
Thedefaultmode forthe Repeat feature isOFF.PressingREPEAT
consecutively changes the repeat options:
•Track-repeats the track that isplaying.
•All-repeats the disc that isplaying.
•Repeat Off
Asyou toggle throughthe options,the repeatoptionchanges. The selected
repeat option loops repeatedly until you turn itoff.
L. Playing MP3 Discs
MP3isa format for storingdigital audio.AnaudioCD-quality songis
compressed into theMP3 format with very littleloss ofaudio quality
whiletaking up much less disc space.CD-R/RWdiscs that have
beenencoded in MP3formatare compatible with this system.
Whenan MP3discis insertedintothe unit, themenuscreenappears
automatically.Youcanuse themenuscreentoselect your desired
foldersandsongs orthesystem plays thesongs in theorder they
were burned onto the disc.
1.Press the or buttontochoosea folderfrom thefolder liston
the leftsideof the screen.
2. Press ENTERto select thehighlighted folder. The songs avail-
able under the folder willbe listed.
3.Use or buttontochooseasongfromthe list. PressENTER
to select and begin playback ofthehighlightedsong.

4.Usethe (NEXT )button tomovetothenextsong. Press the
(PREVIOUS) button tomovetothe beginningoftheprevious
song.
USINGTHEREPEATFEATURE
Thedefault mode for theRepeat featureis OFF. Pressing REPEAT
consecutively changes the repeat options:
•Repeat One (repeat playback ofa song)
•Repeat Folder (repeatplaybackofa specific folder)
•RepeatOff (normal playback)
Asyoutoggle throughtheoptions, the repeat modechanges. The
selected repeat mode loops repeatedly until you turn it off.

MP3file.
MP3”iconinfrontofafilenameindicates that thisis aMP3 file.

M. Playing JPEG Files
1) Load the JPEG Disc into tray.
2)  Pressing the“MENU“ button accesses the thumbnail view. Choose
 the picture you desire by using the“RIGHT”and “LEFT”buttons.
 Access the previous and next page by pressing the“PREVIOUS”
 or“NEXT”buttons.
3)  You can preview the JPEG file which you selected by pressing
 “Play” or“ENTER” buttons.
4) Pressing the“DOWN“ button rotates the picture 90 degrees
 clockwise.
5)  Pressing the“UP“ Key will returns to the JPEG menu.
6)  When previewing the file, pressing “ANGLE”,“SUBTITLE”,“AUDIO”,
 “AB”,“REW/FF” an icon will appear on the display meaning that
 these options are not available.

4. SD Card and Thumb Drive/Digital Cameras
With nodiscintheunit, insert eitheranSD card,ThumbDrive, or digital
camera with JPEGor MP3filesintothe appropriateinput. Press the
DVD/SD-USBbutton the appropriate position.Thenyoucan:
1) Insert anSDCard into theSD Slot onthe frontoftheunit.
2) Insert aThumb Driveintothe USBjackonthe left sideof theunit.
3)Connect theUSB cable (not supplied)fromacameraintotheUSB
port ontheleftsideoftheunit.

1. GeneralSetup Page
1)Withnodiscinsidetheplayer,press‘SETUP’todisplaythe Mainscreen
ofthe Setup Menu on the screen and General Setup Page”appears.At
the same time, ”ishighlighted. Press ‘SETUP’againto exitthe
Setup Menu.
2)Press the ENTER button, TV Display”ishighlighted.
3) Press the or buttons to select the other menus in general setup
page.
4) Press to enter the submenu.
5) Press the or buttonto select the desired option in the sub
menu and press the ENTER to confirm your selection.
6) Repeat steps 3-5 for other menus.
Note: Press toreturn theprevious menu.
a) TVDisplay
* Normal/PS: When the player outputs signal toa normal TV, a nor-
mal picture is shown on the full screen.
* Normal/LB: When the player outputs signal to a normal TV, a nor-
mal picture is shownon the screen withablackstripatboththetop
andbottom ofthescreen.
*Wide:When theplayeroutputs signal to awidescreenTV, a
wide picture is shown on the full screen.
b).Angle Mark
*On:Thescreenwillshow the angle mark icon.(*If an angle option is
available).
* Off:The screen will not display theAngle Mark
NOTE: Not all discs contain abovefeatures. The abovefeatures are
discdependent.
c)Screen Saver
*On:Enables screensaver
*NOTE: The DVD playerwill enter the Screen Savermode after ap-
proximately three minutes ifthe same imageremainsonthe screen.
