Nova HD
The Nova HD Pulsed Electronic Therapy device from Aura Wellness has been designed specically for
the Human Healthcare Market. Using state of the art design concepts and Human Factor Principles,
The Aura is easy to operate and incorporates many features to promote human health and well-being.
The Nova HD is ideal for all strenuous sports and physical labor recovery as well as for any nuisance
aches and pains which may be affecting the users total health and wellness. The Nova HD is a total
body wellness device. We also provide many coil attachments designed for use with the Nova HD on
various parts of the body.
The Nova HD is intended to be operated and used by the same person.
The Nova HD produces non ionizing pulsed electromagnetic eld at the applicator.

This instruction manual applies to the Aura Wellness Nova HD. It contains important information for
usage and operation. Read these instructions completely. Non-observance of these instructions may
lead to injury of user or damage to the unit.
The Aura Wellness Nova HD is intended for general enhancement of health and wellbeing, thereby
promoting the improvement of user’s quality of life.
The application of Nova HD technology offers a wide range of application possibilities with very good
supportive effects to enhance quality of life and physical tness.
*Please read through this manual entirely prior to starting any wellness session.

Intended Uses
The Nova HD is intended to maintain or encourage a general state of health by:
• Massage like benets to aid in personal relaxation
• Like Massage, PEMF can provide relief from anxiety and stress
• Provides joint and muscle relief due to strenuous sports and work activity
• Aid in recovery from strenuous sports activity
• Benets total wellness and life rejuvenation
Contraindications
The following contraindications must be observed:
• Do not operate the Aura Wellness Nova HD in areas where moisture is present.
• Do not allow the attachment coil to come into contact with water or other uids during operation.
• Users with low blood pressure should be careful after a wellness session as they could become
dizzy for a few minutes after standing up after the wellness session with the Nova HD.
• Users with pacemakers or other implanted medical devices should not use the Nova HD.
• Users with recent organ transplants should not use the Nova HD.
• Consult your physician if you are:
• Currently receiving immunosuppressive therapy
• Currently pregnant
• Other conditions often requiring immunosuppressive therapy; however autoimmune disease or
dermatological diseases, are not contraindications to Aura application.
• During pregnancy, Nova HD application must be discussed with the treating physician before use
• For safety reasons, Nova HD application may not be applied in combination with anticoagulant
therapy with Rivaroxaban (Xarelto)
• Do not use this product if there is a diagnosed deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
• The Nova HD applicators may come in contact with the user and are considered applied parts.
• Patients who wear an active medical implant that leads to stimulation (e.g., pacemakers,
debrillators, brain stimulators, muscle stimulators) should not use the Nova HD therapy system.
• Patients wearing active medical implants designed to deliver medication (e.g., medication pumps,
insulin pumps) should not use the Nova HD system.

Warnings
Caution should be used in the presence of the following:
• Make sure that the coil applicator’s connection cables are arranged in such a way that there can
be no strangulation or restriction to breathing
• Do not use in the presence of trauma, open wound or compound bone fracture.
• Following recent surgical procedures where muscle contraction may have an adverse effect on
post-surgical recovery. Consult with your physician.
• Over the menstruating or pregnant uterus
• Over areas of the skin lacking normal sensation
• Cardiac rhythm disorders such as atrial brillation
• Do not use the Aura Wellness Nova HD if you have an allergy to silicone or EMF.
• Do not lay the coil on or near the display face while the Nova Health device is in operation.
• Always turn the power back to 0 when beginning to treat another area of the body. When the
Nova HD is powered off the Power and time will default back to 0 power and 10:00 Minutes for
time.
Aura Wellness products may not be used for any purpose other than that described in this guide. Use
of the product beyond that which has been specied is considered contrary to the intended purpose.
The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage resulting from improper use. The user is solely
responsible for any risks. The Aura Wellness Nova HD can only be used by adult users.
IMPORTANT: When using the Aura Wellness Nova HD, make sure that the applicators’ connection
cables are arranged in such a way that there can be no strangulation or restriction of breathing.
IMPORTANT: NO modications of this equipment are allowed. Report any unexpected operation or
behavior of the Nova HD device to your supplier and discontinue use pending a reply.
This product may cause interference to radio equipment and should not be installed near maritime
safety communications equipment or other critical navigation or communication equipment operating
between 0.45-30 MHz.
THE MAGNETIC FIELD INTENSITIES GENERATED BY THE Nova HD ARE CAPABLE OF DAMAGING
MEMORY CARDS USED IN MANY PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICES. CARE MUST ALSO BE TAKEN
WITH “SMART” AUTOMOBILE KEYS, ELECTRONIC KEY-RING FOB’S, PC’s AND LAPTOPS, AS WELL
AS MAGNETIC STRIPE DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS AND OTHER MAGNETIC MEDIA SUCH AS; VIDEO AND
AUDIO TAPES, SD CARDS OR USB STORAGE DEVICES. THESE ITEMS SHOULD BE REMOVED AT
LEAST 6 FEET FROM THE SESSION COIL AND the Aura UNIT WHEN IN USE. METALLIC APPAREL,
NECKLACES, BRACELETS, ETC. SHOULD BE REMOVED DURING SESSION AS CURRENTS MAY BE
INDUCED INTO THEM BY THE MAGNETIC HD FROM THE SESSION COIL; FOR THE SAME REASON,
A BENCH, BED OR CHAIR FREE OF METALLIC OBJECTS SHOULD BE USED AS A LOCATION
FOR SESSION. TO AVOID UNDESIREABLE INTERACTION, CARE MUST BE TAKEN NOT TO REST
ATTACHMENT COIL ON OR WITHIN ONE FOOT OF THE Aura UNIT WHILE IN OPERATION.

Safety Instructions
The Nova HD system products are manufactured according to the latest technology and are safe to
use and operate. Nevertheless, hazards may result from the use of this product. This is particularly
the case when used inappropriately and not according to manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure that
you have completely read and understood the instruction manual. If you have any questions, do not
hesitate to contact us.
Consult with your physician before using the Nova HD if you are under medical care, especially if you
are suffering from cardiac diseases. If you experience adverse reactions, stop using the Nova HD
immediately and consult your physician.
• Aura wellness attachment coils are not intended for direct contact of the product to skin. Always
use a towel between hands and coil
• Towel or shirt around neck – collared shirt, turtleneck shirt
• Long sleeve shirt instead of short sleeve or clothing as a barrier between the Aura Attachment
Coils and skin.
• Only use an authorized Aura Wellness Nova HD power cord.
• Always unplug the Nova HD when cleaning the device or attachment coils.
• Never disconnect the attachment coils while the Nova HD session is active (i.e. powered on and
actively generating PEMF pulses).
• Make sure that you have completely read and understood the instruction manual. If you have any
questions contact your Aura Wellness support.
• If you require assistance with setup or conguration of the Nova HD device contact your Aura
Wellness support.
• Aura Wellness products are not toys, and should be kept out of reach of children and pets.
• Stimulation should not be applied over infected, or inamed areas or skin eruptions, e.g., phlebitis,
thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, etc.
• Report any unexpected operation or behavior of the Nova HD device to your supplier and
discontinue use pending a reply.
• Always turn the power back to 0 when beginning to treat another area of the body. When the
Nova HD is powered off the Power and time will default back to 0 power and 10:00 Minutes for
time.
*The Nova HD system is designed with the main power button and power cord located on the side
panel. During use it is important for the user to place the Nova HD unit in a position where access
to the power button and power cord is unobstructed and easily reachable should the user want to
immediately disable the device.

Basic Operations
The Nova HD is designed to allow the user to be the operator. It is important when using the Nova HD
that it be placed on a stable at surface, and that there is unobstructed access to both the power cord
and the power button to allow the user to easily disable the device.
Please read all Safety and Warning instructions.
• ALWAYS PLUG IN BOTH SESSION COIL CONNECTIONS BEFORE TURNING MAIN POWER ON.
• ALWAYS STOP ANY SESSIONS BEFORE UNPLUGGING ANY SESSION COIL CONNECTORS.
VERIFY THAT NO PULSES ARE BEING GENERATED BEFORE PLUGGING OR UNPLUGGING ANY
ACCESSORY.
• INSERT BOTH SESSION COILS INTO THE SOCKETS (right side panel) like a key into a lock and
push all the way in and then twist clockwise (to the right) until a click is heard.
• POWER CORD plugs into the side of the Aura and plugs into a 120VAC wall socket
• MAIN ON/OFF POWER SWITCH (left side panel) turns the Aura power on and off.
• The Nova HD applicators are considered applied parts. It is recommended to start a session at
the lowest power setting then increase gradually to your individual comfort level.

The Display
When the device is fully powered on and the user interface is loaded you will see the default values for
the “Timer” and “Power”.
During operation of the Aura device, the “>” symbol is the MODE indicator, and will show which value,
“TIMER” or “POWER”, will be adjusted. In this example, “POWER” will be adjusted by pressing the UP
or DOWN arrows.

Adjusting the Session Power
Press the blue MODE button to move the mode selector symbol (“>”) to point to the power value (as
shown above)
Select Power level 0-10 by using the Up/Down Arrows. The power level will increase or decrease in
increments of 0.5.
You can adjust the power (intensity) during a session by pressing the up or down arrows.

Adjusting the Session Timer
Power-on default time is 10 Minutes.
To change session time, press blue MODE button select Time. The “>” symbol should point to the
Timer value (as shown above).
Select desired time – 1-90 minutes using the Up/Down Adjustment Arrows.
• From 0 to 10 minutes the value will increment by 1 minute
• From 10 to 90 minutes the value will increment by 5 minutes
The green START button will start the wellness session cycle.
You cannot change the time during a session. To change the time, press STOP, press MODE to select
time, press the up or down adjustment arrows to change the time.
• After selecting intensity and session time, press the green START button to begin the session
again.
Press the red STOP button to end or pause the session. If the timer runs out the session will
automatically stop.

Changing session intensity during operation
You can always lower or increase intensity during operation by pressing the blue Down or UP buttons,
when the mode is set to the Power value.
Stopping a Session
To Pause or Stop the operation manually, press the red STOP button. The session can also be ended
manually by switching the ON/OFF power switch (Side Panel) to OFF.
During a session, if the STOP button is pressed the session will pause but not re-set. Press the green
START to continue the session.
Nova HD will re-set when the main On/Off power switch is turned off and back on again.

Repeat a session: Upon completion of a wellness session, press the Start Button 2x to repeat the
previous session
Check Total Operation Time: While the Nova HD is stopped, Press the MODE and STOP Buttons at the
same time to display the “Total Run Time” will be displayed for 10 seconds in the format of hours and
minutes (“hh:mm”). See screen shot below.

Practical Tips:
• Make sure you nd a comfortable location, chair, Mat or bed
• Do not place coil attachment on or near the Nova HD device during operation
• Avoid wearing tight clothes
• Always use a towel or clothing as a barrier between the coils and skin
• Choose a room with a comfortable temperature
• Avoid distractions
• Refrain from caffeine products prior to and during SESSION
• Refrain from using tobacco products before, during or after product use
• PLACE THE SESSION COIL on the area to be treated. The closer the SESSION coil is to the
affected area, the more intense the SESSION will be. ***CAUTION*** Please read and understand
the section of this guide “CONTRADICTIONS AND WARNINGS”.
• Always start each SESSION at low intensity and then adjust the intensity to the level of comfort
of the patient. Magnetic eld intensities are variable depending on the type of SESSION coil
selected and the intensity setting. Patient sensitivities change from SESSION to SESSION. It is
recommended to keep a log containing specic information such as coil type, relative intensity
and SESSION duration.

Aura Maintenance
Aura products, when used correctly, are maintenance-free. Nevertheless, check your product’s
condition regularly.
• Protect the Aura Wellness Nova HD device and attachment coils from moisture and uids, if uid
should enter the Nova HD Device or attachment coil, turn off the power immediately, disconnect
the power plug from the electrical outlet and contact your authorized Aura Wellness dealer for
repair or replacement.
• Keep fan and vent opening clear of obstructions.
*Repair work may only be carried out by the manufacturer or by an authorized specialist; otherwise
the warranty is no longer valid. Any modications made outside of authorized warranty work
performed by an authorized Aura Wellness Nova HD distributor will render the warranty void and
the device will no longer be supported.
No service or maintenance is to be performed on the Nova HD unit while in operation.
Expected Lifetime
Expected minimum lifetime of the Nova HD is 10 years. The minimum expected lifetime of the coil
attachments is 5 years. The expected lifetime is inuenced by many factors, such as frequency of use,
the intensity of the application settings, regular cleaning and maintenance, climatic conditions, etc.
Environmental Conditions
The Aura Wellness Nova HD unit should be operated under the following conditions.

Error Codes and Troubleshooting

Error: Check Cables! Accessory cables are not detected If no accessory cables are plugged into
the unit, plug in the accessory cables.

Cleaning Instructions
During cleaning activities be sure to inspect all components for signs of wear. If the membrane
appears to be worn, if the power cord appears to be worn, or if any connectors appear to be worn,
contact your Aura Wellness Nova HD distributor.
Follow these steps to clean your Aura unit:
• Disconnect the main power cord
• For a single user, cleaning should be frequent enough to keep surfaces dust free. Follow the
guidance found in the “Safety Instructions”
• For multiple users it is required to clean the unit and accessories between each users. Follow the
guidance found in the “Safety Instructions”
• Clean the main unit and accessories with a dampened, non-abrasive cloth. Use only mild, non-
abrasive, commercially available cleaning detergent (dishwashing liquid), according to the
detergent manufacturer’s instructions.
• Do not use any abrasive cleaners, alkaline solutions or alcohol-based cleaners.
• After cleaning be sure to wipe down all surfaces using a clean damp cloth and allow all surfaces
to dry thoroughly.
• The ventilation panel should remain free of lint or dust to maintain sufcient air ow.
• Aura products are NOT waterproof or rain-proof. Do not allow moisture to penetrate into the
product. (IP 21) (IP 22)
• Do not use any sharp-edged or pointed objects to clean any component of the Aura system.

Manufacturer’s Declaration of Conformity
The Nova HD is designed to be used for general health and well-being and for the relief of minor pain and ailments.
• Do not misuse Nova HD products! The products may not be used for any purposes other than those mentioned
here.
• Always keep Nova HD products in proper working order
• Only use approved Nova HD accessories
• Check Aura Wellness Nova HD products on a regular basis for damage
• Do not use the Aura Wellness device or accessories if there are signs of excessive wear or damage (i.e. perforated
or worn surface of accessories, cracked or chipped connectors and enclosure, etc.)
• Conrm vent and fan are unobstructed
• Electronic devices may experience interference when in close proximity to the Aura Wellness Nova HD due to
EMF generated by the Aura Wellness Nova HD.
This product may cause interference to radio equipment and should not be installed near maritime safety

according to the EMC information provided in these accompanying documents.

antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm (12 inches) to any part of the Aura - Nova HD System, including cables
specied by the manufacturer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of this equipment could result.
WARNING: A risk of increased emissions or decreased immunity may result if any additional cables are attached.
WARNING: Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be avoided because it could
result in improper operation. If such use is necessary, this equipment and the other equipment should be observed to
verify that they are operating normally.
WARNING: Use of accessories, transducers and cables other than those specied or provided by the manufacturer of
this equipment could result in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic immunity of this
equipment and result in improper operation.
