SET UP
INSTALL OR REPLACE BATTERIES
Avanti®recommends high quality batteries for the best
product performance. Rechargeable batteries are not
recommended.
When new and used for the rst time – remove the isolation
sheet under the battery by gently pulling it out.
Remove the battery compartment cover by pushing on the
lever in the direction indicated by arrow.
To remove battery, gently push battery inwards and it will
pop out (use a tool if necessary).
Install 1 x 3V CR2032 lithium battery with positive plate on
top by sliding in beneath the bae and pressing down on
the opposite side.
4. Re install battery compartment cover.
WARNING
This item requires button batteries to operate. Batteries can cause a choking hazard.
ALWAYS KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
PLEASE DISPOSE OF OLD OR DEFECTIVE BATTERIES IN AN ENVIRONMENTALLY
SAFE WAY AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS.
BATTERY SAFETY
Clean the battery contacts and those of the device prior to battery installation.
Remove batteries from equipment which is not to be used for an extended period.
Follow the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment. Promptly remove dead
batteries from the device. Dispose of used batteries properly. Only batteries of the
same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. DO NOT incinerate used
batteries. DO NOT dispose of batteries in re, as batteries may explode or leak. DO
NOT mix old and new batteries or types of batteries (alkaline/standard). DO NOT use
rechargeable batteries. DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries. DO NOT
short-circuit the supply terminals.

OPERATION
Always use the scale on a at, stable and clean surface.
WEIGHT UNIT MEASUREMENT
The scale oers both metric (grams) and imperial setting (lb:oz) options.
Default unit measurement setting is metric.
conversion button as shown in the diagram. To change unit measurement
setting, press this button to toggle between the two.
WEIGHT MODE
If the item being measured is water or milk, press the MODE button to choose the
Volume working mode and view the volume of what is being weighed.
NOTE:
1. Place a bowl on the centre of the scale (if necessary) before turning on.
2. To turn on, gently press on the scale weighing platform.
3. Weighing can commence when the LCD display shows ‘0’.
4. Place item on to be measured and the weight will be shown on the display.
- When metric (g) is the weight unit, the default volume unit is ‘ml’.
- When the imperial (lb:oz) is the weight unit, the default volume is ‘’oz’.

VOLUME MODE
1. To turn on, gently press on the scale platform.
2. When the LCD display shows ‘0’, press MODE button to choose ‘Water’ or
‘Milk’ mode.
3. Place a container on the scale platform.
4. Press ZERO button to reset LCD display to ‘0’.
5. Pour liquid (Water or Milk) into the container and volume will be shown on
the display.
6. To view weight of liquid, press MODE button and choose ‘Weight’ mode.

ZERO AND TARE FUNCTIONS
To weigh dierent items consecutively without removing each item from the scale,
use the Zero and Tare Functions.
NOTE:

- When Tare Function mode is activated – when pressing the ZERO button between
- If the total weight of loads being measured is below 4% of the scale’s capacity (less
than 200g) the Zero Function is in use and the Zero indicator will be displayed in
the bottom left corner of the LCD display.
- If the total weight of the loads exceeds 4% scales capacity (more than 200g) the
loads, the LCD display will show the total weight of all loads on the scale. Press
ZERO button again to reset the LCD reading to ‘0’ and continue with the next load.
1. Place a bowl on the scale platform.
2. Press the ON/OFF button to switch on the scale.
3. Weighing can commence when the LCD Display shows ‘0’.
4. Place the rst load within the bowl to take a reading and the LCD Display will show
the weight of the load.
5. Without removing the load, press the ZERO button to reset the display to ‘0’.
6. With the rst load still in place, add the next load. The display will now show the
weight of the newly added load.
7. Repeat this step until all items have been added.
AUTO SHUT OFF
Auto Shut o occurs if display shows ‘0’ or the same weight reading for 1 minute.
NOTE:
This scale does not have a manual Turn O Function.

CLEANING AND CARE
•
• Clean with a damp cloth only. A soft tissue with alcohol or glass cleaner can be
used to clean the stainless steel weighing platform.
1. When LCD Display shows ‘Lo’, this indicates that battery needs
replacing.
2. When LCD Display shoes ‘Err’ this indicates maximum capacity
has been exceeded. Remove item to avoid damage to the scale.
(Max weight capacity is 5kg/11 lb).
•
DO NOT immerse the scale in water or use chemical/abrasive cleaning agents.
All plastic parts should be cleaned immediately after contact with fats, spices,
vinegar and strongly avoured / coloured foods.
TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Display screen is not working. Check that the battery is installed correctly.
• Avoid contact with acids such as citrus juices.
• Always use scales on a hard, at surface.
• DO NOT strike, shake or drop scale.
• Treat this precise instrument with care.
• Store in a cool and dry place.
Battery may need to be replaced.
