SET UP
INSTALL OR REPLACE BATTERIES
Avanti®recommends high quality batteries for the best
product performance. Heavy duty and rechargeable
batteries are not recommended.
Remove the battery compartment cover by pushing
on the lever in the direction indicated by arrow.
Insert 2 x AAA batteries following the polarity (+/-)
symbols in the battery compartment.
3. Re-install battery compartment cover.

This item requires batteries to operate. Batteries can cause a choking hazard.
ALWAYS KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
PLEASE DISPOSE OF OLD OR DEFECTIVE BATTERIES IN AN ENVIRONMENTALLY
SAFE WAY AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS.
BATTERY SAFETY
Clean the battery contacts and those of the device prior to battery installation.
Remove batteries from equipment if not being used for an extended period. Follow the
polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment. Promptly remove dead batteries
from the device. Dispose of used batteries properly. Only batteries of the same or
equivalent type as recommended are to be used. DO NOT incinerate used batteries.
DO NOT dispose of batteries in re, as batteries may explode or leak. DO NOT mix old
and new batteries or types of batteries (alkaline/standard). DO NOT use rechargeable
batteries. DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries. DO NOT short-circuit the
supply terminals.

OPERATION
Always use the scale on a at, stable and clean surface.
WEIGHT UNIT MEASUREMENT
The scale oers both metric (grams) and imperial setting (lb:oz) options. Default unit
measurement setting is metric.
Press UNIT button to choose working mode – weight, water volume & milk volume.
Keep pressing to toggle between the dierent modes.
1. Place a bowl on the centre of the scale (if necessary) before turning on.
2. Press ZERO button to turn on scale.
3. Weighing can commence when the LCD display shows ‘0’.
4. Place item on to be measured and the weight will be shown on the display.

VOLUME MODE
If the item being measured is water or milk, press the UNIT button to choose volume
mode and view the volume of what is being weighed.
NOTE:
- When metric (g) is the weight unit, the default
volume unit is ‘ml’.
- When the imperial (lb:oz) is the weight unit, the
default volume is ‘’oz’.
1. Press ZERO button to turn on scale.
2. When the LCD display shows ‘0’, press UNIT
button to choose ‘Water’ or ‘Milk’ mode.
3. Place a container on the scale platform.
4. Press ZERO button to reset LCD display to ‘0’.
5. Pour liquid (milk or water) into the contained
volume will be shown on the display.
6. To view weight of liquid, press MODE button and
choose ‘weight’ mode.

ZERO AND TARE FUNCTIONS
To weigh dierent items consecutively without removing each item from the scale, use
the Zero and Tare Functions.
NOTE:
1. Place a bowl on the scale platform.
2. Press the ZERO button to switch on the scale.
3. Weighing can commence when the LCD Display shows ‘0’.
4. Place the rst load within the bowl to take a reading and the LCD Display will show
the weight of the load.
5. Without removing the load, press the ZERO button to reset the display to ‘0’.
6. With the rst load still in place, add the next load. The display will now show the
weight of the newly added load.
AUTO SHUT OFF
Auto shut o occurs if display shows ‘0’ or the same weight reading for 2 minutes.
MANUAL SHUT OFF
To maximise the life of the battery, always press button to turn o the scale after use.
- If the total weight of loads being measured is below 4% of the scale’s capacity (less
than 200g) the Zero Function is in use and the Zero indicator will be displayed in
the bottom left corner of the LCD display.
- If the total weight of the loads exceeds 4% of the scales capacity (more than 200g)
the Tare Function is in use and the Tare indicator will be displayed on the top
left corner of the LCD display.
- When Tare Function mode is activated – when pressing the ZERO button between
loads, the LCD display will show the total weight of all loads on the scale. Press
ZERO button again to reset the LCD reading to ‘0’ and continue with the next load.

WARNING INDICATORS
CLEANING AND CARE
1. When LCD Display shows ‘Lo’, this indicates that battery needs
replacing.
2. When LCD Display shoes ‘Err’ this indicates maximum capacity
has been exceeded. Remove item to avoid damage to the scale.
(Max weight capacity is 5kg/11 lb).
TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Display screen is not working. Check that the battery is installed correctly.
Battery may need to be replaced.
