This equipment has been tested in compliance with the limits for a

limits are meant to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference in a residential installation. Ifnot installed and used in
accordance with proper instructions, this equipment might generate or

SafetyPrecautions
Before getting started, please read the following important safety
precautions.
1. The GOT-5120TL does not come equipped with an operating
system. An operating systemmust be loaded first before
installing anysoftware into the computer.
2. Be sure to ground yourselfto prevent static charge when
installing the internal components. Use a grounding wrist
strap and place all electronic components in anystatic-
shielded devices. Most electronic components are sensitive
to static electrical charge.
3. Disconnect the power cord fromthe GOT-5120TL before any
installation. Be sure both the systemand external devices are
turned OFF. A sudden surge ofpower could ruin sensitive
components that the GOT-5120TL must be properly
grounded.
4. The brightness ofthe flat panel displaywill be getting weaker
as a result offrequent usage. However, the operating period
varies depending on the application environment.
5. Turn OFF the systempower before cleaning. Clean the
systemusing a cloth only. Do not sprayanyliquid cleaner
directlyonto the screen. The GOT-5120TL maycome with or
w/o a touchscreen. Although the touchscreen is chemical
resistant, it is recommended that you spraythe liquid cleaner
on a cloth first before wiping the screen. In case your system
comes without the touchscreen, you must followthe same
procedure and not sprayanycleaner on the flat panel directly.
6. Avoid using sharp objects to operate the touchscreen.
Scratches on the touchscreen maycause malfunction or
internal failure to the touchscreen.
7. The flat panel displayis not susceptible to shockor vibration.
When assembling the GOT-5120TL, make sure it is securely
installed.
8. Do not open the system s backcover. Ifopening the cover for
maintenance is a must, onlya trained technician is allowed to
do so. Integrated circuits on computer boards are sensitive to
static electricity. To avoid damaging chips fromelectrostatic
discharge, observe the following precautions:

lBefore handling a board or integrated circuit, touch an
unpainted portion ofthe systemunit chassis for a few
seconds. This will help to discharge anystatic electricity
on your body.
lWhen handling boards and components, wear a wrist-
grounding strap, available frommost electronic
component stores.

1.1 General Description
The GOT-5120TL is a fan-less and compact-size touch panel
computer, equipped with an 12.1”TFTLCD displayand lowpower
consumption AMD LX800 processor with FSB 500MHz. The GOT-
5120TL supports Windows®XP, Windows®CE.NETand Windows®
XP embedded. The panel is able to install a CompactFlash™card
and provide a MiniPCI slot for wireless module.

HARDWARE INSTALLATION
The GOT-5120TL provides rich I/O ports and flexible expansions for
you to meet different demand, for example, CF card. The chapter will
showyou howto install the hardware. It includes:

2.1 CF card Installation
The GOT-5120TL provides one CF slot for users to install
CompactFlash™card. Please refer to the following instructions for
installation:
Step 1 Turn off the system, and unplug the power cord.

Step 2 Find out the cover on the side ofthe system.
Step 3 Locate the CompactFlashTM socket, and insert the card into
the socket.

The GOT-5120TL has two onboard serial ports, COM1 (RS-
232/422/485) and COM2 (RS-232).
