high-denitionsurveillance,supportingcamerasupto4Kresolution.Forquickandeasyinstallation,theapplianceisprecongured
andpreloadedwithAXISCameraStationvideomanagementsoftwareincludinglicensesplusallnecessarysystemsoftware.AXIS
CameraStationoffersanintuitiveuserinterfacethatallowsuserstotakefulladvantageofAxiswiderangeofvideosurveillance
camerasandotherIPproducts.Withtheoperatingsystemstoredonasolid-statedrive(SSD)and5-yearhardwarewarranty,the
applianceprovidesareliablesurveillancesolution.

•Switch:Built-inPoweroverEthernet(PoE)switch.
•Computer:Preloadedwithallnecessarysoftwareyouneedtocreateasurveillancesolutionincludingthevideo
managementsoftwareAXISCameraStation.
•Theswitchandcomputeraretwoseparateparts.
•Theswitchandcomputercommunicatethroughtheinternaluplinkconnectors:oneislocatedontheswitchPowerCircuit
Boardandtheotherislocatedonthecomputermotherboard.
•Theserveruplinkisanexternalnetworkinterfacethatcanconnecttoanexistingnetwork.
•Devicesconnectedtoserveruplinkcannotcommunicatewithdevicesconnectedtotheswitchdirectly.
•DevicesconnectedtoserveruplinkcancommunicatewithdevicesconnectedtotheswitchthroughAXISCameraStation.

Assignstaticaddresstoeachdevice
YoucancreateanindependentnetworkbyassigningstaticIPaddresstoeachdeviceandtheAXISS2108Appliance.Thisnetworkwill
havenointerconnectivitytoanotherexternalnetworkunlessparametersmatchbetweenthenetworks.Thecomputercanstillget
internetconnectivitythroughtheserveruplinkport.AssoonasthedevicesarepluggedintothepoweredPoEports,theywilltakethe
link-localaddressandwillneedaxedIPset,matchingtheAXISS2108Appliance.
Uselocaladdress
Youcancreateanindependentnetworkbyusinglink-localaddressoneachdeviceandtheAXISS2108Appliance.Thisnetworkwill
havenointerconnectivitytoanotherexternalnetwork.Thecomputercanstillgetinternetconnectivitythroughtheserveruplink
port.AssoonasthedevicesarepluggedintothepoweredPoEports,theywilltakethelink-localaddressandcanbefoundbyAXIS
CameraStationontheAXISS2108Appliance.

UseaDHCPserverfromanothernetork
YoucanjointheAXISS2108ApplianceandconnecteddevicesbyhavinganexistingnetworkandDHCPserverpluggedinthe
switchuplink.ThiswillmakeallconnecteddevicestohaveanIPaddressfromtheDHCPserver’srange.Ifinternetconnectivity
isavailableonthatnetwork,itwillbeavailabletotheAXISS2108Appliancetoo.Otherwise,thecomputercanstillgetinternet
connectivityindependentlythroughtheserveruplinkport.WhenthedevicesarepluggedintothepoweredPoEports,theywilltake
theDHCPaddressiftheDHCPserverisactive.
