AssignIPv4automatically:SelecttoletthenetworkrouterassignanIPaddresstothedeviceautomaticall.Werecommend
automaticIP(DHCP)formostnetworks.
IPaddress:EnterauniqueIPaddressforthedevice.StaticIPaddressescanbeassignedatrandomwithinisolatednetworks,
providedthateachaddressisunique.Toavoidconicts,werecommendoutocontactournetworkadministratorbeforeou
assignastaticIPaddress.
Subnetmask:Enterthesubnetmasktodenewhataddressesareinsidethelocalareanetwork.Anaddressoutsidethelocal
areanetworkgoesthroughtherouter.
Router:EntertheIPaddressofthedefaultrouter(gatewa)usedtoconnectdevicesthatareattachedtodifferentnetworksand
networksegments.
IPv6
AssignIPv6automatically:SelecttoturnonIPv6andtoletthenetworkrouterassignanIPaddresstothedeviceautomaticall.
Hostname
Assignhostnameautomatically:Selecttoletthenetworkrouterassignahostnametothedeviceautomaticall.
Hostname:Enterthehostnamemanualltouseasanalternativewaofaccessingthedevice.TheHostnameisusedintheserver
reportandinthesstemlog.AllowedcharactersareA–Z,a–z,0–9and-.
DNSservers
AssignDNSautomatically:SelecttoletthenetworkrouterassignsearchdomainsandDNSserveraddressestothedevice
automaticall.WerecommendautomaticDNS(DHCP)formostnetworks.
Searchdomains:Whenouuseahostnamethatisnotfullqualied,clickAddsearchdomainandenteradomaininwhichto
searchforthehostnameusedbthedevice.
