Depthoeldandsensorsize
Thedepthofelddependsonthelensaperture,thesizeoftheimagesensorandthedistancetothescene.Thelowerthef-number
andlargerthesensor,theshallowerdepthofeld.Duetothelargesensor,thedepthofeldismoreshallowinthisparticular
productthanintraditionalsurveillancecameras.Depthofeldbecomesshallowerindarkconditions,duetothefactthattheiris
opensuptoprovideenoughlighttothesensor.

Focusandlightsensitivity
Thefocuspointisaffectedbytheaperture(f-stop)ofthelens.Thelowerthef-stopvalue,themorelightreachestheimagesensor.
Thesmallertheaperture,thedeeperdepthofeldwhichmayleadtoanunwantedabsolutefocuspoint.Duringlowlightconditions,
whentheapertureisaslargeaspossible,thedepthofelddecreasesandtheimagemaythereforeappearunfocused.

BenetromIRlightinlow-lightconditionsbyusingnightmode
Yourcamerausesvisiblelighttodelivercolorimagesduringtheday.Butasthevisiblelightdiminishes,colorimagesbecomeless
brightandclear.Ifyouswitchtonightmodewhenthishappens,thecamerausesbothvisibleandnear-infraredlighttodeliverbright
anddetailedblack-and-whiteimagesinstead.Youcansetthecameratoswitchtonightmodeautomatically.

2.Tosetatwhatlightlevelyouwantthecameratoswitchtonightmode,movetheThresholdslidertowardBrightorDark.

Stabilizeashakyimagewithelectronicimagestabilization(EIS)
ElectronicImageStabilization(EIS)canbeusedinenvironmentswheretheproductismountedinanexposedlocationandsubjectto
vibrations,forexample,windorpassingtrafc.
EISmakestheimagesmoother,steadierandlessblurry.Italsoreducesthelesizeofthecompressedimageandlowersthe
bitrateofthevideostream.

TheimageiscroppedslightlywhenEISisenabled,loweringthemaximumresolution.

displayedandupdatedataratesufcienttocreateastreamthatshowsconstantlyupdatedmotion.Fortheviewertoperceivemotion
videotheratemustbeatleast16imageframespersecond.Fullmotionvideoisperceivedat30(NTSC)or25(PAL)framespersecond.
TheMotionJPEGstreamusesconsiderableamountsofbandwidth,butprovidesexcellentimagequalityandaccesstoeveryimage
containedinthestream.
H.264orMPG-4Part10/AVC

H.264isalicensedtechnology.TheAxisproductincludesoneH.264viewingclientlicense.Toinstalladditionalunlicensed

H.264can,withoutcompromisingimagequality,reducethesizeofadigitalvideolebymorethan80%comparedtotheMotion
JPEGformatandbyasmuchas50%comparedtoolderMPEGformats.Thismeansthatlessnetworkbandwidthandstoragespace
arerequiredforavideole.Orseenanotherway,highervideoqualitycanbeachievedforagivenbitrate.

TheImagetabcontainscamerasettingsthataffectallvideostreamsfromtheproduct.Ifyouchangesomethinginthistab,it
immediatelyaffectsallvideostreamsandrecordings.
TheStreamtabcontainssettingsforvideostreams.Yougetthesesettingsifyourequestavideostreamfromtheproductanddon’t
specifyforexampleresolution,orframerate.WhenyouchangethesettingsintheStreamtab,itdoesn’taffectongoingstreams,but
itwilltakeeffectwhenyoustartanewstream.
TheStreamprolessettingsoverridethesettingsfromtheStreamtab.Ifyourequestastreamwithaspecicstreamprole,the
streamcontainsthesettingsofthatprole.Ifyourequestastreamwithoutspecifyingastreamprole,orrequestastreamprole
thatdoesn'texistintheproduct,thestreamcontainsthesettingsfromtheStreamtab.

Maximumbitrateletsyousetatargetbitratetohandlebitratelimitationsinyoursystem.Youmightseeadeclineinimagequalityor
framerateastheinstantaneousbitrateiskeptbelowthespeciedtargetbitrate.Youcanchoosetoprioritizeeitherimagequality
