dispayedandupdatedataratesufcienttocreateastreamthatshowsconstantyupdatedmotion.Fortheviewertoperceivemotion
videotheratemustbeateast16imageframespersecond.Fumotionvideoisperceivedat30(NTSC)or25(PAL)framespersecond.
TheMotionJPEGstreamusesconsiderabeamountsofbandwidth,butprovidesexceentimagequaityandaccesstoeveryimage
containedinthestream.
H.264orMPG-4Part10/AVC

H.264isaicensedtechnoogy.TheAxisproductincudesoneH.264viewingcienticense.Toinstaadditionaunicensed
copiesofthecientisprohibited.Topurchaseadditionaicenses,contactyourAxisreseer.
H.264can,withoutcompromisingimagequaity,reducethesizeofadigitavideoebymorethan80%comparedtotheMotion
JPEGformatandbyasmuchas50%comparedtotheMPEG-4standard.Thismeansthatessnetworkbandwidthandstoragespace
arerequiredforavideoe.Orseenanotherway,highervideoquaitycanbeachievedforagivenbitrate.
HowdoImage,Stream,andStreamprolesettingsrelatetoeachother?
TheImagetabcontainscamerasettingsthataffectavideostreamsfromtheproduct.Ifyouchangesomethinginthistab,it
immediateyaffectsavideostreamsandrecordings.
TheStreamtabcontainssettingsforvideostreams.Yougetthesesettingsifyourequestavideostreamfromtheproductanddon’t
specifyforexamperesoution,orframerate.WhenyouchangethesettingsintheStreamtab,itdoesn’taffectongoingstreams,but
itwitakeeffectwhenyoustartanewstream.
TheStreamprolessettingsoverridethesettingsfromtheStreamtab.Ifyourequestastreamwithaspecicstreamproe,the
streamcontainsthesettingsofthatproe.Ifyourequestastreamwithoutspecifyingastreamproe,orrequestastreamproe
thatdoesn'texistintheproduct,thestreamcontainsthesettingsfromtheStreamtab.
