differentcapabilitieswhenitcomestolightsensitivityandeldofview.Seetheproduct’sdatasheetforlensalternatives.
Depthoeldandsensorsize
Thedepthofelddependsonthelensaperture,thesizeoftheimagesensorandthedistancetothescene.Thelowerthef-number
andlargerthesensor,theshallowerdepthofeld.Duetothelargesensor,thedepthofeldismoreshallowinthisparticular
productthanintraditionalsurveillancecameras.Depthofeldbecomesshallowerindarkconditions,duetothefactthattheiris
opensuptoprovideenoughlighttothesensor.

Focusandlightsensitivity
Thefocuspointisaffectedbytheaperture(f-stop)ofthelens.Thelowerthef-stopvalue,themorelightreachestheimagesensor.
Thesmallertheaperture,thedeeperdepthofeldwhichmayleadtoanunwantedabsolutefocuspoint.Duringlowlightconditions,
whentheapertureisaslargeaspossible,thedepthofelddecreasesandtheimagemaythereforeappearunfocused.

BenetromIRlightinlow-lightconditionsusingnightmode
Yourcamerausesvisiblelighttodelivercolorimagesduringtheday.Astheavailablelightdiminishes,youcansetthecamerato
automaticallyshifttonightmode,inwhichthecamerausesbothvisiblelightandnear-infraredlighttodeliverblack-and-white
images.Sincethecamerausesmoreoftheavailablelightitcandeliverbrighter,moredetailed,images.

Selectexposuremode
Therearedifferentexposuremodeoptionsinthecamerathatadjustsaperture,shutterspeed,andgaintoimproveimagequalityfor
specicsurveillancescenes.GotoSettings>Image>xposureandselectbetweenthefollowingexposuremodes:
•Formostusecases,selectAutomaticexposure.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallighting,forexampleuorescentlighting,selectFlicker-free.
Selectthesamefrequencyasthepowerlinefrequency.

Maximizedetailsinanimage
Important
Ifyoumaximizedetailsinanimage,thebitratewillprobablyincreaseandyoumightgetareducedframerate.
•Makesuretoselectthecapturemodethathasthehighestresolution.
•Setthecompressionaslowaspossible.
•SelectMJPEGstreaming.
•TurnoffZipstreamfunctionality.
StabilizeashakyimagewithElectronicImageStabilization(EIS)
ElectronicImageStabilization(EIS)canbeusedinenvironmentswheretheproductismountedinanexposedlocationandsubjectto
vibrations,forexample,windorpassingtrafc.TurnonEIStogetasmootherandsteadierimagewithoutblur.
EISalsoreducesthelesizeofthecompressedimageandlowersthebitrateofthevideostream.
