1 Device Overview
Name Status Description
Sim Card Slot A Slot for Standard Sized SIM Card
Power Switch ON Use this mode when using 3G/4G broadband wireless.
C When charging a smartphone, use the C mode to begin Charging.
OFF Turns OFF the Mi-Fi Router.
Wi-Fi Indicator Blinking The Mi-Fi router is actively transmitting and receiving data.

2 SIM Card Installation
Prepare a STANDARD SIZED SIM Card.
NOTE: The MWR647 only accepts
Standard sized SIM Cards. You may use
a SIM Card adapter if your SIM card is
Micro or Nano in size.

A. To install the SIM Card Position the SIM card to the SIM Card
slot, then gently insert it to the SIM card
slot until you here a locking sound.

Gently push the SIM card. The SIM card
will slightly eject itself, allowing you to
pull it out completely.
B. To remove the SIM card

3 Usage Scenarios
The MWR647 supports 3G/4G wireless
internet.
After inserting a SIM card, it will
automatically convert the 3G/4G signal to
Wi-Fi signals, giving your wireless devices
internet access, anytime and anywhere.
Connecting an Ethernet device (e.g.
computer, laptop) to your MWR647’s
Ethernet port also enables your device to
have internet connection.

A. 3G/4G Wireless Internet
The MWR647 can also act as a router by
simply connecting it to your ADSL modem
through an Ethernet cable.
NOTE: To use this mode, you first have to
change the 3G/4G Connection mode to
Wire Mode. You may see this under Section
8 “Internet Using Wire Mode” of this User
Manual.

4G Internet access steps:
Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot correctly.
Turn on the MWR647, and it will connect to 4G automatically.
The System Indicator will flash, indicating that it is currently connecting to a 4G network.
The MWR647 has connected succesfully when the System Indicator stops flashing and
turns to red. You may now connect your wireless devices to the wireless network.

The Main Reasons for 4G Dialing failure:
Improper SIM Card installation.
A wrong SIM card has been inserted. SIM card must match the current version. If a
wrong SIM card has been inserted (e.g. EVDO SIM for HSPA version ) a dialing failure
will occur.
The SIM Card has Zero (0) balance.
Weak 4G signal. Relocate the MWR647 for better network reception.

5 Connecting your Wireless Devices to
your MWR647’s Wi-Fi
If you wish to connect wirelessly, ensure that your
wireless device (e.g. laptop, desktop) is wirelessly
enabled or has a wireless adapter.
A. Windows XP Setup Procedures
Click at the located at the bottom
right corner of your screen to open the
Available Wireless Networks list.
Scan for AztechMWR647_xxxx, double
click and correctly enter the wireless
password found at the back panel of your
MWR647.

display Connected after a successful
connection.

B. Windows 7 Setup Procedures
Click at the icon located at the
bottom right corner of your screen
to open the Available Wireless
Networks list.
Scan for AztechMWR647_xxxx,
double click and correctly enter the
wireless password found at the back
panel of your MWR647.
The Wireless Network status would
display Connected after a successful
connection.

C. IoS Setup Procedures
On your iPhone, press
Settings > WLAN. If the Wi-Fi
status is OFF, turn it ON.
On the Wireless Network list,
scan for AztechMWR647_
xxxx, tap it and correctly
enter the wireless password
found at the back panel of
your MWR647.
A check would be seen
beside the AztechMWR647_
xxxxnetworkname,indicating
a succesful connection.

D. Android Setup Procedures
On your smartphone, press
Settings > Wi-Fi.
On the Wireless Network list,
scan for AztechMWR647_xxxx,
tap it and correctly enter the
wireless password found at the
back panel of your MWR647.
A Connected status
would be seen below the
AztechMWR647_xxxx network
name, indicating a succesful
connection.

6 Accessing the Web User Interface
Open any web browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Internet Explorer), then enter http://192.168.2.1
on the adress bar. Enter admin for its username and password. Click Confirm, and you will
automatically be redirected to your MWR647’s Web User Interface as seen below:
The Web User Interface will help
you configure your MWR647’s
properties and functionalities.

7 Configuring the Wireless Settings
MWR647 supports common WEP, WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption standard. It is highly
recommended to use a high level of security encrytion, WPA2-PSK.
Connect wirelessly to your MWR647.
Access the Web User Interface.
Go to WLAN > Security Settings.
Choose WPA2-PSK as the security mode.
Select preferred WPA Algorithm.
On the Passphrase input field, enter your
preferred wireless password.
Click the Apply button to save changes. You will
be disconnected to the MWR647 automatically.
Reconnect to the AztechMWR647_xxxx
wireless network using the password you have
specified.

8 Internet Using Wire Mode
Access the Web User Interface.
Click Network > Internet Settings then
choose Wire Mode.
Click Apply to save settings.
You may now connect your MWR647
router to your modem using an
Ethernet cable.

Note: The WAN/LAN Port can be used
as a broadband router, or if you are
using a SIM Card, can provide internet
connection to a connected computer.

9 Charging Essentials
A. Charging your Mobile Phones using the MWR647
Your MWR647 can be used as power bank to
charge smartphones and tablets. To use this
feature, connect your device to the MWR647
through a USB cable then move the power switch
to C mode to begin charging.
NOTE: Do not charge the MWR647 when you are
charging your mobile phone. This may reduce the
battery life of your device.

B. Charging your MWR647
The Charging Indicator displays red when you are charging the MWR647. The Charging
Indicator would turn OFF indicating that it has already finished charging. It is important to
take note that in charging your router, ONLY USE THE CHARGER PROVIDED IN THE DEVICE
PACKAGE.
It takes 4-5 HOURS of charging time to achieve a fully charged battery.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. The SIM Card is inserted but it cannot be detected.
Check if the SIM card is properly inserted.
2. I cannot find my MWR647’s Wireless Network (SSID).
Check if the Wi-Fi of the MWR647 is turned ON.
You might be too far from your MWR647, try moving closer to your MWR647.
Try resetting your MWR647
3. My device is already connected to the MWR647’s wireless SSID, but I cannot open any
webpage.
Check the SIM card if it is valid.
Check if the SIM card has sufficient balance for data charges.

4. My device has a slow connection and even gets disconnected often.
Check the device’s current location and operator signal. Relocate it if necessary.
Check the environment of the device. Poor ventilation can cause device overheating.
5. I cannot charge my mobile phone.
Press T key to check whether the battery is empty.
Check if the Power Switch is at C or Charging mode.
Use a different USB cable.
