Wireless broadba d router WL889RT4 is a hybrid desig product which i tegrates Ether et
tech ology a d wireless access i to a si gle sta d-alo e u it. The device allows you to take
adva tages of both mobility a d fast co ectio . All PCs whe ever o wireless LAN or Ether et
LAN ca share files, pri ters a d other etwork resources. Moreover, all users ca share si gle
accou t of I ter et access by havi g this device co ect to a DSL/Cable modem.
It complies with IEEE 802.11 (Draft 2.0) sta dard a d delivers up to 300Mbps wireless speed.
The MIMO tech ology will e sure a good performa ce, stability a d great coverage. Its wireless
data tra smissio rate ca be 3 times better a d coverage 4 times better tha a ormal
802.11b/g router. It is a high performa ce a d cost-effective solutio for home a d small office.
The router provides multiple security protectio s, which ca protect the wireless access security
effectively. It is easy to i stall a d co figure with user frie dly i terface. For better applicatio of
the router fu ctio s, please read this user ma ual carefully.

1. Co ect the supplied Ether et Cable from your computer’s Ether et port to a y of the
available LAN ports at the back of WL889RT4
2. Use a other Ether et cable to co ect your Broadba d modem to WL889RT4’s WAN port.
3. Co ect the Power adapter to the 9V DC port at the back of the WL889RT4 a d plug to a
power source. Please tur o the power source before you proceed to the I ter et
co ectio setup.

1. Ope your I ter et Browser a d go to http://192.168.2.1. O the authe ticatio page,
type admi for both user ame a d password.
2. Click o the Quick Setup butto to set up your WL889RT4 for the first time.
3. Choose your curre t regio from the drop-dow list.
4. Choose the I ter et co ectio type from the drop-dow list.
*Select DHCP to obtai a IP address from your broadba d modem automatically. (For
most cable modem users. For Fiber subscriber, tagged, Tick o E able VLAN a d select
your I ter et Provider)
*Select PPPoE if your ISP requires a PPP user ame a d password for authe ticatio . (for
most ADSL modem users)
*Select Static if all the IP i formatio is provided to you by your ISP. You eed to specify
the IP address, Sub et mask, Default Gateway a d Primary DNS.
5. By default, the Wireless Network is e abled. If you wish to disable it, you ca simply

check Disable Wireless LAN I terface.
6. Every WL889RT4 has a pre-assig ed u ique Wireless Network Name or SSID. You may
cha ge this SSID to your ow prefere ce.
7. The default passphrase is set to aabbccddee. You may cha ge this to your ow
prefere ce. Keep i mi d that a WPA passphrase must have at least 8 characters i
le gth.
8. Click Save to apply the setti gs. After the setti gs are saved you will be directed to the
System Status page a d will show you i formatio about the i ter et co ectio status.
