3. CONNECTING BEOSOUND ESSENCE TO AN EXISTING BANG & OLUFSENAUDIO SYSTEM (A)
– Motivation: Customer already has an audio “master” and would like to use
BeoSound Essence as a way to enable music from mobile devices, to

–Solution: Connect the BS Essence, via line-in, to the existing audio system
–Equipment/Cables needed:
–1 x RJ45 Power Link to 2 x Phono (male) –6271216
–Advantages: Customer can still use sources of existing system, and his

–Disadvantages:
–Volume needs to be controlled by audio master (directly or via Beo4)
–BS Essence Remote can be used for previous/next/pause/start, but
cannot be used for volume control
–BS Essence Remote cannot be used to start the full system, with a
single touch (i.e. customer needs to first start audio master to “A.
AUX” source)
–Considerations/Notes:
– Volume has to be set to “Fixed Output” on BeoSound Essence, via
BeoSetup application

– Motivation: Customer already has an audio “master” and would like to use BeoSound

–Set BeoSound Essence Remote to Beo4 IR mode (“RADIO”)
–Equipment/Cables needed:
–1 x RJ45 Power Link to 2 x Phono (male) –6271216
–Advantages:

needs to be used for that)
–BS Essence needs to be put to stand-by via the App (in case of some sources)
–Considerations/Notes:
– Volume has to be set to “Fixed Output” on BeoSound Essence, via BeoSetup
application
–The BS Essence Remote now communicates the audio master, via infrared, so it

switch to the BeoSound Essence sound

by”
– Turning on the TV will “take over” the sound, but the BS Essence still needs
to be put in stand-by by BS Essence Remote or BeoMusic App
