• Toensurefullstabilitywheninuse,makesurethatthesidesoftheComfortCushiontouchthe
sidesofthebathwhenfullyinated.
• Removeanynonslipmatsfromtheareawherethesuconcupswillbeposioned.
• EnsurethatanyoilandsoapresidueisremovedfromtheComfortCushionandbath.Pay
parcularaenontothesuconcupsandoorofthebath.Ensurethatthesuconcups
adherermlytothebathbeforeeachuse.Thesuconcupsmaynotadheretothesurfacein
bathsthathavebeenre-enamelledorthathaverippledortexturedsurfaces.Donotuseifthe
suconcupsdonotadheretothebath.

• ALWAYSINFLATETHECOMFORTCUSHIONANDUSETHECUSHIONTOLOWERYOURSELFINTO
THEBATH.ThisallowsthemicroprocessorintheAiro12tocalculatetherequiredbaery
powertoraisetheComfortCushionandifitcalculatesthattherewouldbeinsucientpower,
itwillnotallowthehandcontroltooperatethedownfuncon.
• NEVERloweryourselfintothebathbydisconnecngtheComfortCushionairhosefromthe
Airo12compressor.DoingthiswillmaketheComfortCushiondeateinanuncontrollable
mannerandalsothemicroprocessorintheAiro12willnothavecalculatedifthereis
enoughbaerypowertoraisetheComfortCushionwhenreconnected.
• Tomaintainstability,DONOTtrytoloweryourselfintothebathorraiseyourselffromthe
boomofthebathunlyouareINANUPRIGHTSEATEDPOSITIONCENTRALLYANDRIGHTTO
THEBACKOFTHESEATSOTHATYOUARETOUCHINGTHEBACKREST(seegs.7&10).
• Toavoidtheriskofelectricshock,NEVERrechargethebaeryinthebathroom,outdoorsorin
adampenvironment.
• AlwaysdisconnecttheAiro12compressorfromthebaerychargerbeforecleaning.
• DonotuseanyotherairsupplytoinatetheComfortCushion.
• ThesuconcupscontainLatex.UserswithanallergytoLatexshouldtakeparcularcareto
avoidprolongedcontactwiththesuconcups.Thesuconcupsaresituatedatthebaseof
theseatandarenotnormallyindirectcontactwiththeuserduringuse.

Intended use
TheComfortCushion,manufacturedbyMangarHealth,ispoweredbythebaeryoperated
Airo12compressorandisintendedsolelyforuseasabathingaidtoassistapersontolower
themselvesintoandoutofabath.Usersshouldhavesucientupperbodystrengthtobeable
toholdthesidesofthebathforaddedsupportifrequired.TheComfortCushionisnotintended
foranyotheruseandshouldneverbeusedoutsideofabath.Whenproperlymaintained,the
ComfortCushionwillgivemanyyearsoftroublefreeservice.
Construcon
TheComfortCushionisconstructedfromaverystrongpolyurethanecoatednylonmaterialwhich
hasbeenprecisioncutintopanelsandthenjoinedtogetherbyhighfrequencywelding.This
producesaverystronglightweightandairghtconstrucon.TheComfortCushionincorporates
anairpressurereliefvalvewhichwillnotallowthecushiontobeoverinatedbytheAiro12
compressor.

operatethecompressor,pressthe‘Up’buon
ontheAirooronthehandcontrol.

Baery Status Indicator
NOTE:Thebaerymustbeputonchargeimmediatelyassoonastheredindicatorlightappears.
RunningtheAiro12onREDunlthebaeryisexhaustedwilldamagethebaery.
Whenthecompressorisrunning,thebaerystatusindicatorlightswillonlyindicatethestateof
baerychargeasitwasatthestartoftheli.Whenthecompressorstopsrunning,thebaery
statusindicatorwillshowaboomgreenlight(thiswillberedifthebaerychargehasbecome
low).Todeterminethetruebaerystatefollowingali,pressthe‘BaeryStatusIndicator’buon
andthelightswillindicatethebaerychargestate.
IMPORTANT: To maximize the life and liing performance of the baery, fully recharge the
baery for 16 hours. When the baery is new, it will not reach its peak performance and
capacity unl it has been discharged and recharged at least 3 to 5 mes.
Fully charge the baery for a minimum of 16 hours before using the Airo 12 for the rst me
and when a new baery has been ed.

Baery Charging
• Check the baery charger casing and lead
forsignsofdamageandifdamagedDONOT
USE.
• Fit the appropriate mains plug adaptor to
thebaerycharger(A g.1).
• Plugthebaerychargerintoamainspower
socketandconnectthechargeroutputlead
totheAiro 12chargingsocket(B).
NOTE: The baery must be recharged for a
minimumof16hourstoachievefullcapacity.
When the baery is being charged:
• For the rst 2 hours, the boom light will
showasteadyredandthenextlightwillbe
ashinggreen.Aer2hoursthe lightswill
changetotwosteadygreenandoneashing
green.Aer16hoursalllightswillbecome
steadygreen.
NOTE: If charging is momentarily interrupted
(a power cut, switching the power socket o
or disconnecng the charging lead), on re-
connecon, the charging process will start at
the beginning and follow the sequence above
forthenext16hours.

• Passtheairhosethroughtheloopinthe
cornerofthebackrest(Ag.2),onthe
sidethatyouproposegengintoandout
ofthebath.Theairinletvalve(B)canbe
rotated,allowingthehosetobeledtothe
appropriatecorner.

Cushiontowardstheslopeofthebath
unlthereisagapofapproximately25mm
betweenthebathslopeand‘handle’
(Cgs.3&4).
• Firmlypressallfoursuconcupsdown
andcheckthattheyaresecurelystuckto
thebath.Wetthemtohelpthemsckif
necessary.
• Foldthebackrestoutsothatitrestsonthe
slopeofthebath.

bath)
• Select‘Up’onthehandcontrol(Gg.6)
toinatetheComfortCushionandwhen
thereliefvalveblows(itwillhiss),release
the‘Up’buon.Pressrmlydownonthe
ComfortCushiontosecurethesucon
cupstotheoorofthebath.Checkallfour
suconcupsaresecurelystucktothebath.
Wetthemtohelpthemsckifnecessary.
• Whilstsllclothedandwiththehelpof
anassistantifrequired,carryoutsome
dry‘pracceruns’accordingtothese
instruconsunlyouaretotallycondent
usingtheproduct.
NOTE:Duringa‘drytrial’theComfortCushion
maymakeanoisewhenbeingloweredand
raisedduetothefabricrubbingagainstthedry
sidesofthebath,thisisnormalandthenoise
willdisappearwhenthebathisfullofwater.

50°C/120°F).
• WiththeComfortCushion fully inated,sit

Cleaning
Roune cleaning (Comfort Cushion)
• DrainthebathwaterandfullyinatetheComfortCushionforcleaningwhilstitissllinthe
bath.Tocleanbetweentheseatandbasesecons,parallydeatetheComfortCushion.
• Allcomponentscanbecleanedwithaproprietarynonabrasivemildliquidcleaneror
disinfectant.Alwaysfollowpackaginginstruconsforusingmilddetergentproducts.
NOTE: Beforeusingproprietarycleaners,alwaystestonaninconspicuousarea.
• Useasoclothwhencleaning.
• DonotwashtheComfortCushioninboilingwater.
• UnplugtheAiro 12fromthebaerycharger.Cleantheexternalsurfacesusinganonabrasive
dampclothwithwarmwater.Wipedrythoroughlywithadrytowelbeforereconnecngtothe
baerycharger.Donotallowmoisturetoenteranypartofthecompressor.
IMPORTANT:Followingcleaningandaereachuse,rinsethoroughlywithcleanwatertoremove
allsoapdeposits.Wipedryorleavetoairdry.NeverstoretheComfortCushionwhenitiswetor
damp.ItisrecommendedthattheComfortCushionisleinatedin-betweenusestoallowair
tocirculatearounditandreducetheriskofmouldformingonthesurfaceoftheproduct.Donot
leaveinbrightsunlight.Do not dry using hot air.
Disinfecon (Comfort Cushion)
• TheComfortCushionshouldbefullyinatedandpre-cleanedbywashingwithdetergentand
water,thoroughlyrinsedandthendisinfectedusinga1:10soluonofhouseholdliquidbleach
andwater(1partbleachto10partscoldwater).LeavethesoluonontheComfortCushion
forapproximately10minutesbeforethoroughlyrinsingowithcleancoldwater.
WARNING:Nevermixbleachwithanyothercleaningproduct.Alwaysreadthesafety
informaononthelabelbeforeusinganybleachproduct.
Roune cleaning (Airo 12)
Unlesscontaminaonissuspected,periodiccleaningisallthatisrecommended.TheAiro12
shouldbecleaned/disinfectedasfollows:
• UnplugtheAiro12fromthebaerycharger.Cleantheexternalsurfacesusinganonabrasive
dampclothwithwarmwater.Wipedrythoroughlybeforereconnecngtothebaerycharger.
Donotallowmoisturetoenteranypartofthecompressor.
• Donotusesolvent-basedproducts.
Disinfecon (Airo 12)
• Pre-cleanusingadampclothandthendisinfectusingahardsurfacealcoholimpregnatedwipe.

• Checkthattheairhoseandconnectorare
notdamaged.
TheAiro12hasbeendesignedtobe
maintenancefreeandapartfromreplacingthe
baery,theAiro12containsnootheruser
serviceableparts.
Baery replacement:
• TurntheAiro 12ontoitsendcontaining
theairoutletsocket,removethescrew(A
g.15)andslidetheendpanel(B)away
fromthehousing.
• Disconnectthewirefromthebaerypack
andremovethebaerypackfromthe
baerycompartment.
• Fitthereplacementbaerypack,ensuring
thattheconnectorissecure,rettheend
panelandsecurethescrew(A).
WhenitbecomesapparentthattheAiro 12
isproducingfewerthanexpectedliingcycles,
thebaeryisprobablyreachingtheendofits
workinglifeandshouldbereplaced.
