Safety precautions and recommendations

detailed here must be fully understood and

followed to reduce the risk of injury, fire,

explosion, electrical hazard, and/or property

Safety information presented here is generic

in nature – some advice may not be

applicable to every product. The term

"equipment" refers to the product, be it

electrical mains powered, battery powered or

combustion engine powered.

•Before Use - If you are not familiar with the

safe operation/handling of the equipment or

are in any way unsure of any aspect of

suitability or correct use for your

application, you should complete training

conducted by a person or organization

qualified in safe use and operation of this

equipment, including fuel/electrical handling

and safety.

•Do NOT operate the equipment in

flammable or explosive environments, such

as in the presence of flammable liquids,

gases or dust. The equipment may create

sparks or heat that may ignite flammable

substances.

•Keep clear of moving parts.

•Equipment may be a potential source of

electric shock or injury if misused.

•Do NOT operate the equipment if it is

damaged, malfunctioning or is in an

excessively worn state.

•Do NOT allow others to use the equipment

unless they have read this manual and are

adequately trained.

•Keep packaging away from children - risk

of suffocation! Operators must use the

equipment correctly. When using the

equipment, consider conditions and pay

due care to persons and property.

General Work Area Safety

•Work areas should be clean and well it.

•Do not operate the equipment if

bystanders, animals etc are within

operating range of the equipment or the

general work area.

•If devices are provided for connecting dust

extraction / collection facilities, ensure

these are connected and used properly.

Dust collection can reduce dust-related

hazards.

General Personal Safety

•Wear appropriate protective equipment

when operating, servicing, or when in the

operating area of the equipment to help

protect from eye and ear injury, poisoning,

burns, cutting and crush injuries. Protective

equipment such as safety goggles,

respirators, non-slip safety footwear, hard

hat, hearing protection etc should be used

for appropriate equipment / conditions.

Other people nearby should also wear

appropriate personal protective equipment.

Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery,

which can be caught in moving parts. Keep

hair and clothing away from the equipment.

•Stay alert and use common sense when

operating the equipment. Do not over-

reach. Always maintain secure footing and

balance.

•Do not use the equipment if tired or under

the influence of drugs, alcohol or

medication.

•This equipment is not intended for use by

persons with reduced physical, sensory or

mental capabilities.

General Fuel Safety

•Petrol/fuel/gasoline is extremely flammable

– keep clear of naked flames or other

ignition sources.

•Do not spill fuel. If you spill fuel, wipe it off

the equipment immediately – if fuel gets on

your clothing, change clothing.

•Do NOT smoke near fuel or when

refuelling.

•Always shut off the engine before

refuelling.

•Do NOT refuel a hot engine.

•Open the fuel cap carefully to allow any

pressure build-up in the tank to release

slowly.

•Always refuel in well ventilated areas.

•Always check for fuel leakage. If fuel

leakage is found, do not start or run the

engine until all leaks are fixed.

General Carbon-Monoxide Safety

•Using a combustion engine indoors CAN

KILL IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust

contains carbon-monoxide – a poison you

cannot smell or see.

•Use combustion engines OUTSIDE only,

and far away from windows, doors and

vents.

General Equipment Use and Care

•The equipment is designed for domestic

use only.

•Handle the equipment safely and carefully.

•Before use, inspect the equipment for

misalignment or binding of moving parts,

loose components, damage or any other

condition that may affect its operation. If

damaged, have the equipment repaired by

an authorised service centre or technician

before use.

•Prevent unintentional starting of the

equipment - ensure equipment and power

switches are in the OFF position before

connecting or moving equipment. Do not

carry equipment with hands or fingers

touching any controls. Remove any tools or

other items that are not a part of the

equipment from it before starting or

switching on.

•Do not force the equipment. Use the

correct equipment for your application.

Equipment will perform better and be safer

when used within its design and usage

parameters.

•Use the equipment and accessories etc. in

accordance with these instructions,

considering working conditions and the

work to be performed. Using the equipment

for operations different from those intended

could result in hazardous situations.

•Always keep equipment components

(engines, hoses, handles, controls, frames,

housings, guards etc) and accessories

(cutting tools, nozzles, bits etc) properly

maintained. Keep the equipment clean and,

where applicable, properly lubricated.

•Store the equipment out of reach of

children or untrained persons. To avoid

burns or fire hazards, let the equipment

cool completely before transporting or

storing. Never place or store the equipment

near flammable materials, combustible

gases or liquids etc.

•The equipment is not weather-proof, and

should not be stored in direct sunlight, at

high ambient temperatures or locations that

are damp or humid.

•Do not clean equipment with solvents,

flammable liquids or harsh abrasives.

General Electrical Safety

•Inspect electrical equipment, extension

cords, power bars, and electrical fittings for

damage or wear before each use. Repair or

replace damaged equipment immediately.

•Ensure all power sources conform to

equipment voltage requirements and are

disconnected before connecting or

disconnecting equipment.

•When wiring electrically powered

equipment, follow all electrical and safety

codes.

•Wherever possible, use a residual current

device (RCD).

•High voltage / high current power lines may

be present. Use extreme caution to avoid

contact or interference with power lines.

Electrical shock can be fatal.

General Electrical Safety

•Electrically grounded equipment must have

an approved cord and plug and be

connected to a grounded electrical outlet.

•Do NOT bypass the ON/OFF switch and

operate equipment by connecting and

disconnecting the electrical cord.

•Do NOT use equipment that has exposed

wiring, damaged switches, covers or

guards.

•Do NOT use electrical equipment in wet

conditions or in damp locations.

•Do NOT use electrical cords to lift, move or

carry equipment.

•Do NOT coil or knot electrical cords, and

ensure electrical cords are not trip hazards.

General Service Information

•The equipment must be serviced or

repaired at authorised service centres by

qualified personnel only.

•Replacement parts must be original

equipment manufacturer (OEM) to ensure

equipment safety is maintained.

•Do NOT attempt any maintenance or repair

work not described in this manual.

•After use, the equipment and components

may still be hot – allow the equipment to

cool and disconnect spark plugs and/or

electrical power sources and/or batteries

from it before adjusting, changing

accessories or performing repair or

maintenance.

•Do NOT adjust while the equipment is

running.

•Perform service related activities in suitable

conditions, such as a workshop.

•Replace worn, damaged or missing

warning/safety labels immediately.

Electric Tile Saw Safety

Read all the instructions and warnings carefully before using this product. Failure to follow warnings and instructions can result in severe injury,

death, or property damage. Before installation, check if all accessories are complete and without damage. If not, contact customer service. Keep

these instructions in a safe place for future reference. Use this product with its original parts only. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible in

the event of damage or injury due to incorrect use of this product. The information contained in this manual is believed to be correct at the time of

printing. However, the manufacturer reserves the right to change or modify any of the specifications without notice or obligation to update existing

units. Repairs should only be carried out by a specialist or a professional and experienced technician. Never attempt to repair the product yourself.

Intended Use. This power tool is designed to cut small to medium size tiles (glazed tiles, ceramic tiles or similar), which can be placed on the power

tool. It is designed for DIY applications and craft businesses in particular. It should never be used to cut wood or metal.

Warnings and Personal Safety

•WARNING! When using electric tools basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal

injury including the following: Do not expose tools to rain. Do not use tools in damp or wet locations. Keep work area well lit. Do not use tools in

the presence of flammable liquids or gases.

•Guard against electric shock: Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g. pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerators).

•Do not let persons, especially children, not involved in the work touch the tool or the extension cord and keep them away from the work area.

•When not in use, tools should be stored in a dry locked-up place, out of reach of children.

•It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was intended. Do not force small tools to do the job of a heavy-duty tool. Do not use tools

for purposes not intended; for example, do not use circular saws to cut tree limbs or logs.

•Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, they can be caught in moving parts. Non-skid footwear is recommended when working outdoors. Wear

protective hair covering to contain long hair.

•Use safety glasses. Use face or dust mask if working operations create dust.

•Never yank the cord to disconnect it from the socket. Keep the cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.

•Wherever possible use clamps or a vice to hold the work. It is safer than using your hand.

•Keep cutting tools sharp and clean for better and safer performance. Follow instruction for lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect tool

cords periodically and if damaged have them repaired by an authorized service facility. Inspect extension cords periodically and replace if

damaged. Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease.

•When not in use, before servicing and when changing accessories such as blades, bits and cutters, disconnect tools from the power supply.

•Form the habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from the tool before turning it on.

•Ensure switch is in "OFF" position when plugging in.

•Watch what you are doing, use common sense and do not operate the tool when you are tired.

•Before further use of tool, it should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for

alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or

other part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service centre unless otherwise indicated in this instruction

manual. Have defective switches replaced by an authorized service centre. Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.

•The use of any accessory or attachment other than one recommended in this instruction manual may present a risk of personal injury.

•This electric tool complies with the relevant safety rules. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified persons using original spare parts,

otherwise this may result in considerable danger to the user.

Specific Safety Rules

•The stone cutting machine is designed exclusively for cutting ceramic, marble, clinker, etc. It must never be used for cutting wood or similar

material.

•Special diamond discs are required for machining granite, fine stoneware and glazed tiles (available from the trade and DIY stores).

•NOTE: The machine is designed exclusively for wet cutting.

•It is suitable for both private and professional use.

•The manufacturer assumes no liability whatsoever for improper use, or if the machine has been tampered with.

•Give equal attention to the safety instructions, assembly and operating instructions as well as prevailing accident preventions regulations.

•Set up the machine on level, non-slippery ground. The machine should not wobble.

•Make sure that the voltage on the rating plate is the same as your supply system.

•Only then are you to insert the power plug in the mains socket outlet.

•Never use cracked diamond cutting wheels but replace them immediately.

•Never use segmented cutting wheels.

•WARNING: The cutting wheel continues to rotate after switching off.

•Do not slow down the cutting wheel by applying pressure to its side.

•The diamond cutting wheel has to run in the water bath!

•Pull out the power plug before you exchange the cutting wheel.

•Use only suitable diamond cutting wheels: ø 200 mm, bore ø 25.4 mm.

•Note the width of the adjusting bracket!

•Close the guard hood when you are finished with your work.

•This machine is not designed for working outdoors.

•Remove the power plug before you check the electric motor compartment system.

Assembly

Sub-Frame Assembly

1. The tile cutting machine is supplied completely assembled and ready for use. To unfold the sub-frame (1),

press the internal locking knob (2) and unfold the frame outwards until it engages (B1).

You can use the machine as a tabletop machine with the subframe.

2. Fill the tank with water to approximately 5mm below the tank edge. Remove the transport packaging (3)

(B3).

Operation

Working with the Tile Saw

1. Connect the machine to the mains supply. Ensure that the voltage is correct (see model plate).

2. Place the workpiece on the cutting table (B4) (4) and align it.

3. Switch the machine to ON with the ON/OFF switch (5) (B5).

4. Wait until the cutting disc has reached its maximum speed and the pump is transporting water onto the

cutting disc.

5. Pull the motor carriage slowly and evenly through the workpiece.

6. To switch off the machine move the ON/OFF (5) switch to OFF.

Mitre Cuts

1. For mitre cuts from 90° to 45°, swing the whole machine head with the cutting disc.

2. Undo the two star handles on the side (6), adjust the head to the angle you require and tighten the star

handles again (B6).

3. Pull the cutting disc slowly and evenly through the workpiece.

Diagonal Cuts

1. Clamp the angle guide (8) in the straight guide (7) and adjust it to the angle you require (B7).

2. Set the angle guide to 45° or the angle you require and pull the cutting disc slowly and evenly through the

workpiece (B7).

Changing the Cutting Disc

Please refer to image B8

1. Disconnect the mains plug.

2. Wear safety gloves.

3. Undo the three screws on the saw blade guard (10) and remove the guard.

4. Place an open-ended wrench on the motor shaft and turn the flange nut anti-clockwise to undo it.

5. Remove the flange nut (11), external flange (12) and cutting disc (13) (B8).

6. Fit a new cutting disc by following the instructions above in reverse.

IMPORTANT! Check the direction of rotation of the cutting disc.

7. Fit the saw blade guard again with three screws.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Maintenance

•Depending on the frequency of use, the pump must be cleaned at regular intervals.

−Remove the pump from the water tank.

−Remove the filter and the pump impeller cover by turning them.

−Pull out the impeller and clean all the parts under running water. Remove any deposits.

•Changing the cutting disc:

−Disconnect the mains plug from the supply.

−Wear safety gloves.

−Undo the three screws on the blade guard (18) and remove the guard.

−Place an open-ended spanner (19) on the motor shaft and undo the flange nut by turning it anti-

clockwise with the open-ended spanner (20).

−Remove the flange nut and cutting disc.

IMPORTANT! Check the direction of rotation of the cutting disc.

−Fit a new cutting disc by following the instructions above in reverse.

−Fit the blade guard again with the three screws.

Cleaning

•Empty and rinse out the water tank at regular intervals.

•Keep the motor ventilation grille clean at all times.

•Treat all the moving parts at regular intervals with biodegradable grease or oil.

•Do not treat plastic covers with solvents.

•Use only damp cloths and brushes for cleaning purposes.

Repairs

Only use accessories and spare parts recommended by the manufacturer. If the equipment should fail some day

in spite of our quality controls and your maintenance, only have it repaired by a n authorised electrician.

Troubleshooting

Problems Causes Solutions

Motor does not start.

Motor has no power supply.

Check the main power supply.

Power cable not connected.

Defective on/off switch. Replace the switch.

Machine does not run smoothly and

not true.

Check the cutting disc for any

damage. Replace the cutting disc.

Starting capacitator is defective. Get it repaired by a qualified

technician.

The bearing is worn-out. Get it repaired by a qualified

technician.

Cutting power is too weak.

Flange on the cutting disc is loose. Tighten the flange.

Cutting disc was not fitted correctly. Refit the disc correctly.

Edge of the diamond cutting disc is

blunt. Sharpen it with a whetstone.

Water cooling is too weak. The pump is not transporting enough

water.

Clean the pump.

Add more water to the tank.
