1. Introduction
Foryourowncomfortandsafety,pleasemakesure,that
you have received all the necessary information and doc-
umentation about the ships systems from the previous
owner of the craft. Please keep this manual in a secure
place and hand it over to the new owner when you sell the
craft.Onboardship,itisstronglyrecommendedtoonly
keep a high quality copy of this manual in a waterproof
cover and leave the original in a secure place.
ThismanualshallhelpyoutoenjoyyourBAVARIAYachtin
a safe and responsible manner. Besides the information
on the boat itself this manual contains information on
handling and maintenance of the boat. Special attention
has been given to systems on board that require sea water
circulationforcooling,suchastheairconditioningunits.
Those systems rely upon measures to be taken before they
are even switched on. Please read this document care-
fully and familiarize yourself with the craft before using it.
Please ensure that you have adequate experience before
assuming command of the craft.
Shouldthisbeyourrstrecreationalsailingyacht,or if
you are not yet familiar with the special characteristics
of such a sailing yacht, please make sure that you re-
ceive proper training before you start any voyage; this is
for your own safety and comfort. Do not hesitate to contact
your dealer for information on further training. The yard
itselforyourlocaldealerwillcertainlyhelpyoutondan
appropriatepartner,incaseyouwishtofreshenupyour
knowledge regarding boating.
Regardlessofthecraft‘sseaworthinessanditscertied
designcategory,protectionfromfreakseaandwindcon-
ditions cannot be guaranteed. Beware of offshore winds
and currents. The ability, experience and tness of the
crew should be taken into consideration before you em-
bark on any journey.
Asthescopeofdelivery mayvary dependingonthe in-
dividualorder,theequipmentofyour sailingyacht may
deviate from some of the descriptions and illustrations
contained in this manual. To be able to constantly up-
grade our yachts to state-of-the-art standard we reserve
therighttoalterationsin form,equipment andtechno-
logical standard. It is for that reason that no claims can
bederivedfromdata,illustrationsanddescriptionscon-
tained in this manual.

2. Responsibility of the coxswain/skipper/owner/captain
Theownerorboatcaptainisfullyresponsibleandshalladheretothefollowingprincipalrules:
1. Know and get to know about the limitations of your boat.
2. Alwaysfollowtherulesoftheroad-makesureyouknowaboutthelocalrulesandregulations.
3. Keep a good and sharp lookout for people and objects in the water.
4. Ensure,thattheanticipatedwindandseaconditionsdoalwayscorrespondtothedesigncategoryoftheboatand
that you and your crew are able to handle the boat in these conditions;
5. MakesureyourCrewandpassengersarealwayssafe,alwayskeepaneyeonthem.
6. Neversailordrivetheboatwhentheoperatorisundertheinuenceofdrugsoralcohol.
7. Ensurethatallcrewreceivesuitabletraining,particularlywithregardstothelocationandoperationofsafety
equipmentsuchaslifevests,life-raftsanddistresssignals.
8. Reduceyourspeedwhenthereisrestrictedvisibility,roughwater,peopleinthewater-boats,orstructuresnearby.
9. Doneveroverestimateyourownabilitiesandtness.Itiswiseandsensibletoconsultotherskippers,localau-
thoritiesorgovernmentdepartmentsaboutspecicinformation.
10. Trainwithyourcrewandallpeopleonboardregardingtheimportantmaneuversatsea:AbovealltheMOB-Man
over board. Each and every person on board should be able to execute this maneuver autonomously - even the
most experienced boat-captain may be the one in the water to be rescued.
11. Havethecraftinspectedbyqualiedpersonnelatregularintervalsandwheneveracauseforconcernisraised
haveitrepairedbyqualiedpersonnel.
12. Ensure compliance with all legislation in place in the area of operation. These may include requirements for the
carriageoflifesavingequipment,licensingofthehelmsmanandrespectfortheenvironment.
13. Checkthebilgewaterlevel,liquidssuchaswater,sloshingintheboatdoreducethestabilityoftheboat.
14. Regardlessofthecraft‘sseaworthinessanditscertieddesigncategory,protectionfromfreakseaandwind
conditionscannotbeguaranteed.Bewareofoffshorewindsandcurrents.Theability,experienceandtnessof
the crew should therefore be taken into consideration before you head off.
15. Thiscraftmayonlybeusedbyindividualsfulllingtheregulationsfortheoperatorand/orlicenserequirementsin
the country of use. In many countries it is compulsory to carry a license or comply with other legislation in place in
the area of operation. Keep yourself therefore informed and up to date on the local requirements before you head off.
Preparation
Prepareanytripcarefully,howsoevershort,harmlessorinsignicantitmayseem,beawarethat:
Weatherconditionsmaychangeabruptlyandaccidentsonboardshipmayalsooccurwithoutanyadverseinuences
of a seaway or meteorological effects.
If you are prepared and equipped for an emergency then usually bad luck does not hit you. In
order to be prepared your boat should be equipped with appropriate gear and resources.

» The working sail plan should be reduced if the average wind force exceeds force 4 on the Beau-
fort scale. Particular care should be taken in gusty conditions and rough weather.

2.1. Maintenance intervals
We impose the highest standards on the quality and safety of our products. For routine service checks the following
componentsandequipmentmustbeinspectedandreplacedifnecessary.Alsopleasebesuretocomplywiththere-
quirementsforserviceintervalsfortheengines,generatorsandassociatedequipment.Failuretocomplywiththese
regular inspection and replacement intervals for these safety-related components can lead to an elevated risk of injury
and death.
Regular inspection and maintenance is an essential activity to ensure the boat‘s longevity and the crew‘s safety.
Thissectionincludesagenerictablewhichdetailstypicalinspectionandmaintenanceintervals.Thisisnotspecic
to your craft and some sections will not apply. The necessary frequency of service or maintenance depends upon the
environment in which the boat operates. The intervals listed in this section should be viewed as maximums. We impose
the highest standards on the quality and safety of our products as well as the related maintenance.
Inthecourseofroutineserviceonyachtsproducedbyus,weonceagainpointoutthatthefollowingcomponentsand
equipmentmustbeinspectedandreplacedifnecessary.Alsopleasebesuretocomplywiththeserviceintervalsfor
engines,generatorsandassociatedequipment.

detailsofthecraft;theequipmentsuppliedortteditssystemsandinformationontheiroperation.Pleasereadthis
manual carefully and completely and familiarize yourself with the craft before using it. Ensure that everyone who will
operatethevesselreadsthismanualbeforesettingout.ThismanualcomplieswiththeEURecreationalCraftDirec-
tive(RCD)andshouldnotbeperceivedasanexhaustiveguidetothevessel.Thisowner‘smanualisnotadetailed
maintenanceortroubleshootingguide.Prerequisiteforasuccessfultripissufcientseamanshipandexperiencethat
empowersyoutomanageallpossiblesituations.Amanualisnotareplacementforexperience,commonsenseand

Insomechaptersofthismanualyouwillndadviceconcerningthetroublefreeoperation,themaintenancebutalso
some warning about dangers and hazards. For better contrast and visibility those signs are displayed in warning
trianglesorotherpanels,theymayalsoberasterized.
Sticktoandapplygoodseamanshipatalltimes!Youastheboat captain bear the sole respon-
sibility for the boat and the well-being of your crew.
Never remove or cover a sign or label. Replace every damaged or lost sign immanently.
Danger
denotes an extreme intrinsic hazard exists which would result in high probability of death or
irreparable injury if proper precautions are not taken.

Denotes that a hazard exists which can result in injury or death if proper precautions are not
