Installation Overview
This guide contains instructions for installation of the BD CSampler™Plus Accessory for the BD Accuri™C6 Plus Cytometer.
Before You Begin

Preparing the Cytometer

Shut down the cytometer.
WARNING Failure to power off the cytometer before installing the BD CSampler™Plus Accessory could damage the
BD Accuri™C6 Plus Module, or both.
Loosen the thumb screw and remove the sample stage.

Install and validate the BD Accuri™C6 Plus Flow Cytometer.
Inspect the BD CSampler™Plus Accessory Kit contents to ensure delivery of all
components. In addition to the BD CSampler™Plus Module, the box should also
contain the following:
•Mat from BD CSampler™Plus Kit
•Mounting bolts (3)
•Installation and removal tool
•24-tube rack
•BD Accuri™C6 Plus and BD CSampler™Plus Software and Documentation USB
(not pictured)

Installing the BD CSampler™Plus Accessory Module
Before attaching the module, lower the sampler tray to the lowest position.
WARNING Not lowering the tray could result in damage to the sample injection tube (SIT).

2Open the lid of the cytometer and locate the three holes used to mount the module.
Bolt Holes

Hold the module with both hands and locate the tab in the slot on the back of the cytometer.

Align the front of the module so that the holes on the module are lined up with the three threaded holes in the cytometer.
Hold the module with one hand and screw in the front right mounting bolt to secure the module to the cytometer, tightening
with the tool provided.

5Screw in the other two mounting bolts.
WARNING Do not overtighten.

Attach the cable to the connector on the back of the cytometer.
Place the sampler tray into position.
WARNING Failure to keep the sampler tray clear of plates, tubes or any other materials can result in damage to the
BD CSampler™Plus Accessory.
Place tubes filled with the appropriate cleaning fluid in the correct positions on the black tube rack located at the back
of the sampler tray. You might need to gently manipulate the tray to gain access to the rack.
Location Description
Tube APlace a tube containing 2 mL of
BD FACSClean™Solution in this
location. Used for the first tube in a
SIP Clean.
Tube BPlace a tube containing 2 mL of DI
water in this location. Used for the
second tube in a SIP Clean.
Tube C Place a tube containing 2 mL of DI
water in this location. Used at
startup and shutdown, during a
backflush, and for a SIP Rinse. Also
used for parking the SIP at
shutdown.

9Turn on the instrument. The BD CSampler™Plus Module will automatically align itself. If the auto alignment fails, follow the
instructions in the BD Accuri™C6 Plus System User’s Guide regarding aligning the BD CSampler™Plus Module after
a collision.
1Install the BD Accuri™C6 Plus and BD CSampler™Plus Software and Documentation from the provided USB device.

2Perform instrument QC to ensure correct operation. See the BD Accuri™C6 Plus System User’s Guide for instructions.
