1 Important safety and
environmental instructions
This section contains safety instructions that will
help protect from risk of personal injury or material
damage.
Failure to follow these instructions voids any grant-
ed warranty.
1.1 General safety
•This appliance complies with the international
safety standards.
•This appliance can be used by children who are at
the age of 8 and above and by people who have
reduced physical, perceptual or mental abilities or
by people who are deficient in terms of experience
and knowledge as long as they are supervised and
given the instructions regarding the safe use of the
appliance and dangers encountered.
•Children should not play with the appliance. Clean-
ing and user maintenance procedures should not
be performed by children over 8 unless they are
supervised by an older person.
•Keep children under 8 years of age away from the
appliance and power cable.

•Do not use it if the power cable or the appliance it-
self is damaged. Contact an authorised service.
•This appliance is intended for household use only.
It has not been designed for professional purposes
that are listed below:
-in shops, in personnel kitchens of offices or other
working environments;
-in farmhouses;
-by customers in hotels, motels or other residential
areas;
-in bed and breakfast type accommodations.
•Your mains power supply should comply with the
information given on the rating plate of the appli-
ance.
•The appliance should be supplied through a resid-
ual current device (RCD), the rated residual opera-
tional current of which is not exceeding 30 mA.
•Use the appliance with a grounded outlet.
•Do not use the appliance with an extension cable.

•To avoid any damage to the power cable, prevent
it from squeezing, bending, or rubbing on sharp
edges.
•Do not touch the appliance or its plug when it is
plugged if your hands are damp or wet.
•Do not pull the power cable while unplugging the
appliance.
•This appliance is intended only for household use
and similar purposes; it is not suitable for profes-
sional use.
•Do not fill the appliance above its maximum level
line. The boiling water may splash out.
•Do not fill the appliance below its minimum level
line.
•Do not open the appliance lid while the water is
boiling.
•Position the lid of the appliance in a way that the
hot steam is not directed to you.
•Hold the appliance only from its handle.
•Do not operate while empty.

•Fill the appliance with water while detached from
its base unit.
•Use the appliance only with the base unit provided.
•Operate and store the appliance on a stable and
level surface.
•Do not attempt to dismantle the appliance.
•Use the original parts or parts recommended by the
manufacturer only.
•Unplug the appliance before cleaning and let it
completely dry after cleaning.
•Do not immerse the appliance or its power cable in
water.
•Do not use the appliance in or near the areas where
explosive or inflammable places and materials are
present.
•If you keep the packaging materials, store them out
of the reach of children.

1.2 Complance wth the WEEE Drectve and
dsposal of the waste applance
This appliance does not contain harmful and prohibited materi-
als specified in the “Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment
Directive” issued by the TR Ministry of Environment and
Urbanisation. Conforms to the WEEE Directive. This appliance
has been manufactured with high quality parts and materials
which can be reused and are suitable for recycling. Therefore, do not dis-
pose the appliance with normal domestic waste or other wastes at the
end of its service life. Take it to a collection point for the recycling of elec-
trical and electronic equipment. Ask the local authority in your area for
these collection points. Help protect the environment and natural re-
sources by recycling the used appliances. For the safety of children, cut
the power cable and disable the lock of the appliance before disposing, if
there is any.
1.3 Package nformaton
Package of the appliance is made of recyclable materials in ac-
cordance with our National Legislation. Do not dispose of the
packaging materials together with domestic or other wastes,
take them to the packaging material collection points designat-
ed by the local authorities.

3 Use
3.1 Intal use
1. Rinse the interior of the appli-
ance with water, fill it with water
up to the max. level line and boil
the water (see 3.2).
2. Discharge the hot water and
rinse the interior of the appli-
ance with water.
3.2 Bolng water
1. Take the power cable out of the
cable winding bay (7) located be-
neath the appliance.
2. Detach the appliance from the
base unit (6) and open the lid (1)
by pressing the lid opening but-
ton (2).
3. Fill the appliance with water
through the water refill opening
(8) and close the lid.
4. Place the appliance back on the
base unit (6).
5. Plug in the appliance.
6. Press the on / off button (5).
– The operatng lght turns on
when the applance starts to
operate.
– When the water s boled, the
on / off button (5) trps and
the operatng lght turns off.
– The water s ready for use.
AWARNING:
Do not
open the water refill
opening (8) during
usage.

4.1 Cleanng
A
WARNING:
Never
use gasoline, solvent,
abrasive cleaning
agents, metal objects
or hard brushes to
clean the appliance.
1. Switch off and unplug the appli-
ance.
2. Wait for the appliance to cool
completely.
3. Clean the outer sides of the ap-
pliance with a damp cloth and a
small amount of dish-washing
detergent.
4. Clean the water reservoir of the
appliance by rinsing with water.
4.1.1 Cleaning the
lime-scale filter
There is a lime-scale filter (9) in
the water refill opening of the ap-
pliance. This filter allows you to
obtain cleaner water by filtering
the lime.
To clean the lime-scale filter (9):
1. Remove the filter by slightly
pushing it upwards.
2. Keep the filter for one night in
water containing some citric acid
or some white vinegar.
3. Then, clean the filter with a soft
brush under running water.
4. Push it back again from upside
and insert it into its slot.

WARNING:
Dry
all parts with a
soft towel before
starting to use the
appliance after
cleaning it.
4.1.2 Descaling the
kettle
Descaling extends the life of your
kettle. The descaling period de-
pends on the water hardness in
your area.
1. Fill the kettle with water, up to
three quarters of the maximum
level.
2. Add white vinegar or lemon acid
in the kettle up to the maximum
level.
3. Add 2 cups of white vinegar or 1
tablespoon of citric acid into the
boiled water.

4. 5 Leave the solution in the kettle
for a few hours.
5. Pour out the solution and rinse
the inside thoroughly.
6. Fill the kettle with clean water
and boil the water.
7. Empty the kettle and rinse it
with water again.

WARNING:
If you
do not perform the
descaling process for
a long time, the base
of the water reser-
voir of the appliance
gets covered with
lime and becomes in-
operable. Contact an
authorised service in
such a case.
4.2 Storage
• If you do not intend to use the
appliance for a long time, store it
carefully.
• Please make sure that the
appliance is unplugged,
cooled and totally dry.
• Store the appliance in a cool and
dry place.
4 Cleanng and care
• Wind the cable of the appliance
around the cable winding bay (7).
• Keep the appliance out of the
reach of children.
4.3 Handlng and
transportaton
• During handling and transpor-
tation, carry the appliance in its
original packaging. The packag-
ing of the appliance protects it
against physical damages.
• Do not place heavy loads on the
appliance or on the packaging.
The appliance may get damaged.
• Dropping the appliance may ren-
der it non-operational or cause
permanent damage.
