MINERAL BUILD-UP
A common maintenance need for steam appliances is the removal of build-up caused by high
mineral content in many municipal water supplies. This mineral build-up may limit the
effectiveness and reduce the life of your Handheld Steam Cleaner.
The best way to minimize mineral build-up is to use distilled or de-mineralized water when
using your Handheld Steam Cleaner. In addition, it is recommended that the unit be cleaned at
least once a month in order to remove any deposits that form. This will help to extend the life of
your Handheld Steam Cleaner and keep it functioning at its maximum potential.
To remove mineral build-up:
1. Unplug power cord from electrical outlet.
NOTE: Unit should remain unplugged for duration of cleaning procedure.
2. Allow unit to cool (at least 30 minutes for complete cooling).
3. Press and hold Steam Button to release any remaining steam pressure.
4. Remove any connected accessories from unit.
5. Unscrew and remove Boiler Cap. Drain any remaining water in Boiler into a sink or tub.
6. Using Measuring Cup, make a mixture of 3 oz. (90 ml.) water and 3 oz. (90 ml.) vinegar.
NOTE: For best results, it is highly recommended that distilled or de-mineralized water
be used when cleaning Boiler.
7.
8. Allow water/vinegar solution to soak in Boiler for 30-40 minutes.
9. Drain water/vinegar solution out of Boiler into a sink or tub.
10. Thoroughly rinse Boiler with fresh water until vinegar odor dissipates.
11. Loosely replace Boiler Cap and follow normal storage procedure as outlined in Proper
Storage section above.
