VI. INSTALACION
Use las ranuras en la cubierta de atrás para montar con clavos o tornillos sobre cualquier edificio, pared, o poste de madera. Apunte la
bocina hacía el área que desea afectar. Si se instala afuera, ponga el aparato cuando menos un metro (3 pies) del suelo para máxima
cobertura.
VII. RESOLUCION DE PROBLEMAS
A. Averigüe que este el interruptor no esté en la posición “OFF”. (o sea que esté en “CONT AC Only” o “MS AC” o “Battery”). Si
está usando baterías asegúrese que estén funcionando. Si está usando la configuración “Continuous AC Only”, averigüe que el
enchufe esté funcionando. Si está usando la configuración “MS AC or Battery”, entonces espere actividad solamente cuando haya
movimiento.
B. Lea de nuevo la sección de “Programa de Control de Animales Pestíferos” (arriba, Sección III). Revise si no hay algunos
incentivos inusuales para los animales y elimínelos.
C. Revise las configuraciones de los controles y asegure que ha seleccionado la cobertura adecuada para el animal.
D. Si una configuración específica causa piar o chirriar, de le vuelta al control ligeramente hasta que deje de hacer ruido.
E. No es fuera de lo común de oír piar cuando el sensor de movimiento se activa y el sonido de alta-frecuencia se prende y se apaga.
VIII. PRECAUCIONES
Aunque la potencia máxima de DeerGard es de 25 kHz y transciende la audición humana, (cuyo promedio es, máximo, de
aproximadamente 16 kHz), la intensidad es de suficiente fuerza de poder presentar una posibilidad de dañar la audición si se expone
directamente por un periodo de tiempo prolongado a una distancia de menos de 3 metros (10 pies). Este aparto definitivamente no
debe de colocarse en un área cerca donde alguien estará presente por un largo periodo de tiempo. Por lo regular, este tipo de aparto se
coloca afuera y se apunta evitando la dirección de un hogar o habitación, o a dentro en un lugar como un sótano que rara vez se usa y
así no presenta algún problema.
Sugerimos que cuando esté sentado o trabajando dentro del área de operación del aparato que lo apague ya que la presencia de
humanos normalmente actúa como un disuasorio para los animales pestíferos.
Como con cualquier aparato eléctrico, no lo coloque en o cerca del agua, y no lo coloque mientras esté usted en o alrededor de agua.
No apunte este aparato hacía yardas vecinas o áreas públicas, o animales en jaulas o sujetos con correa.
La intención del aparato es para uso solamente en su propiedad. Algunas personas con buena audición de alta frecuencia podrán oír el
aparato cuando funciona en sus frecuencias más bajas. Si esto ocurre, seleccione una frecuencia más alta.
IX. GARANTIA DEL FABRICANTE
El DeerGard está garantizado contra todo defecto de material y obra de mano por un periodo de seis meses de la fecha de envío. A
discreción de Bird-X, Inc., se reemplazará o reparará el aparato defectivo. Es necesario tener autorización previa y un número de

DEER GARD SILENT DEER REPELLER
I. INTRODUCTION
Bird-X, Inc. has been recognized worldwide as the bird and pest control experts for more than
40 years and its specialists are able to analyze problems and make recommendations based on
each customer's specific situation and needs.
II. WHY CONTROL DEER?
•Deer are extremely destructive to plants, gardens, vegetables, flowers, trees and more.
•Deer ticks carry lyme disease.
III. DEER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
A. Survey the deer and their entry, exit and feeding habits.
B. Inspect your property. Discover what the deer find attractive about your area, and
if the same conditions prevail in neighboring properties.
C. Maintain a changing environment. For maximum effectiveness, periodically
relocate or reposition the unit, vary the output, or turn it off for a short time.
D. Install early. It is always best to install the DeerGard before "deer season" begins,
as it is easier to keep them away than to rout them out once they have already
established a pattern.
E. Use products synergistically. Two or more different kinds of devices (DeerGard
plus netting and/or a taste or smell aversion) will produce a synergistic effect --i.e., in
combination, the products will yield much greater effectiveness than the DeerGard
alone. Contact Bird-X, Inc. for information on "companion" products.
F. Consider alternate locations. Make educated guesses as to where the deer will go
when they leave their current infestation area, and consider purchasing units to cover these areas as well.
IV. UNIT OVERVIEW
This adjustable-frequency, dual-operation, weatherproof unit repels deer. (The unit can also repel cats, dogs, armadillos, rodents, bats,
insects and raccoons). An infrared motion sensor is built in.
V. UNIT SET-UP
Gently pull off the back cover. Set the operation switch (upper right) to OFF.
Turn the frequency dial (upper left) to the desired pest.
On the operation switch, choose "MS AC or Battery" for the unit to operate briefly each time the motion sensor is tripped (works with
both an AC adapter and batteries), or choose "CONT. AC Only" for the unit to operate continuously (works with an AC adapter only).
Turn "Sensitivity" dial to adjust motion sensor sensitivity.
AC Adapter Plug one end into the port underneath the operation switch and the other into any standard outlet. (If using outside,
protect the outlet from weather). Run the cord through the notch on the bottom of the unit. Snap the cover back into place.
Batteries Install four "C" batteries as shown on the unit. Snap the cover back into place.
Expect coverage up to 4000 square feet in a generally oval pattern approximately 80 feet out in front of the unit, 50 feet wide. The
speaker projects sound on a horizontal plane in one direction. The lower the sound frequency (clockwise), the greatest coverage. In
dense foliage and/or large acreage, multiple units may be necessary.

VI. INSTALLATION
Use the keyhole slots on the back to mount it on any building, wall or wooden post with nails or screws.
Point the speaker at the area you want covered. If installing outdoors, place the unit at least 3 feet above the ground for optimum
range.
VII. TROUBLESHOOTING
A. Check that the power switch of the unit is not OFF (in other words, either CONT AC Only or MS AC or Battery). If using
batteries, check that they are good. If using the Continuous AC Only power setting, check that the outlet is good. If using the MS AC
or Battery setting, only expect activation if there is motion.
B. Reread the Pest Management Program section above. Check for and remove unusual incentives.
C. Check the dial settings and ensure you have selected a range appropriate to the pest.
D. If a specific dial setting causes a squeaking or scratching sound, rotate the dial slightly until the sound stops.
E. It is not unusual to hear a “chirping” noise when the motion sensor is tripped and the high frequency sound turns on and off.
VIII. PRECAUTIONS
Even though the top range of the DeerGard, 25 kHz, is above human hearing range (which averages, at top level, about 16 kHz), the
intensity is great enough to present a chance of damage to the ear if it is directly exposed for an extended period of time at a distance
of less than 10 feet. These units should definitely not be located at or near a place where someone will be located for a long time.
Normally, this type of unit is located outside pointing away from a house or structure, or indoors in a rarely occupied attic or
basement, and thus presents no problem when located in this manner.
We suggest that when you are sitting or working within range of the unit, you turn it off, as human presence will normally deter the
pests.
As with any electrical device, do not place the unit in or near water and do not mount it while standing in or surrounded by water.
Do not aim the product into neighboring yards or public areas, or at caged or leashed animals.
It is intended for use on your own property only. Some people with good high frequency hearing will be able to hear the unit at its
lower frequencies. If this occurs, select a higher frequency.
IX. MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY
The DeerGard is warrantied against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of six months from the shipping date. At the
option of Bird-X, Inc., we will either replace or repair the defective unit. Prior authorization and a returned goods authorization
(RGA) number will be necessary from Bird-X, Inc.
RETURNS ARE ACCEPTED ONLY WITH AUTHORIZATION FROM OUR CHICAGO OFFICE.
X. SYNERGY AND OTHER PRODUCTS
For best results, Bird-X, Inc. always recommends that the DeerGard be used in conjunction with one or more other products. The
combination of different types of control methods has proven to maximize the effectiveness of pest animal control programs.

I. PRESENTACIÓN

III. PROGRAMA DE MANEJAR LOS VENADOS
A. Estudie los hábitos de los venados: cómo entran, salen y qué es lo que comen.
B. Inspeccione su propiedad. Descubra qué es lo que atrae a los venados a su área y si las mismas condiciones prevalecen en
propiedades contiguas.
C. Mantenga un ambiente que esté constantemente en cambio. Para mayor eficacia, de vez en cuando cambie o reposicione el aparato,
cambie la potencia, o apáguelo por un breve período.
D. Instale a tiempo. Siempre es mejor instalar el DeerGard antes de que empiece la temporada de venados, ya que es mas fácil
mantenerlos alejados que desalojarlos ya después de que se hayan establecido en sus propiedades.
E. Use los productos sinérgicamente; es decir, en combinación con otros productos. Dos o más diferentes tipos de productos
(DeerGard combinado con una trampa y/o un producto que produce aversión por gusto u olfato) van a producir un efecto sinérgico, es
decir, en combinación, y los productos serán más eficaces que usando solamente DeerGard. Comuníquese con Bird-X, Inc. para más

F. Considere áreas alternativas. Use su criterio hacía donde se irán los venados cuando salguen de su área de infestación y considere la
compra de aparatos que cubrirán estas áreas también.
IV. INFORMACION GENERAL DEL APARATO
Este aparato con control de frecuencia, de doble-operación, resistente a la intemperie,
desaloja venados, armadillos, roedores, gatos, perros, murciélagos y mapaches. Tiene
integrado un sensor infrarrojo de movimiento.
V. COMO CONFIGURAR EL APARATO
Quite la tapadera de atrás con cuidado. Ponga el interruptor en “OFF”. Ajuste el
control de frecuencia adecuada al animal pestífero. Escoja en el conmutador “MS AC
or Battery” para que el aparato trabaje brevemente cada vez que se active el sensor de
movimiento (trabaja con ambos adaptador de CA y baterías) o escoja “CONT. AC
Only” para que trabaje el aparato continua-mente (funciona solamente con el adaptador
de CA). Ajuste el control de la “Sensibilidad” (“Sensitivity") para controlar el sensor
de movimiento.
Adaptador CA: Enchufe un extreme en el puerto abajo del conmutador de operación
(“ON/OFF Switch”) y el otro en cualquier enchufe regular. (Si se está usando afuera, proteja el
enchufe de la intemperie). Pase la cuerda por la ranura al fondo del aparato. Coloque la tapadera
en su lugar.
Baterías:Instale cuatro pilas de tipo "C" como se muestra en el aparato. Coloque la tapadera en su lugar. Anticipe una cobertura de 370 metros
cuadrados (4000 pies cuadrados) en un patrón ovalado de aproximadamente 24 metros (80 pies) en frente del aparato, 15 metro (50 pies) de ancho.
La bocina proyecta sonido en un plano horizontal en una sola dirección. Entre más baja la frecuencia del sonido (vuelta a la izquierda) más amplia la
cobertura. En follaje pesado y/o un terreno grande, quizás se necesitarán varios aparatos.
