Tenete sempre presente che l’ammortizzatore ha il corpo in pressione
perciò è molto pericoloso: qualche componente potrebbe uscire ad
altissima velocità e provocare seri danni alla salute vostra e/o ad altri
nelle vicinanze.
Leggete attentamente questo manuale per eseguire il corretto
procedimento di smontaggio ed evitare le negative conseguenze di una
procedura errata.

The shock damper is an important component of the motorbike, and in
this Service Manual is explained the correct method to revise it.
Please study and make certain that you fully understand all the
instruction before handling this component; if you have any questions
regarding proper service procedures, please contact a Bitubo
technician.
Remember that the shock is pressurized ant its may be very dangerous:
some component may be expulsed at very hight speed and cause
serious damage to your healt and/or other people nearby.
Read carefully this manual in order to follow the right dismounting
procedure and avoid the negative conseguences of a wrong procedure.

Attenzione: applicare sulle ganasce della
morsa le mordacchie in alluminio, per non
rovinare le superfici di presa sui componenti
del prodotto
-Termosoffiatore di aria calda
-Pinza divaricatrice a becchi conici
-Loctite 638
-Loctite 243
-Spina Ø 8 mm

-Vice jaws for rods 8-10-12-14 code 00318
-Tool for cap cod. 00216
-Tool for cap cod. 00217 (coaxial tank side)
-Bush and pressure gauge code 00237
GENERIC
Warning: apply aluminium protectors on the
vice jaws so as not to damage the surfaces of
the product's components being clamped in
the vice
-Heat air gun
-External circlip pliers
-Loctite 638
-Loctite 243
-Prick tool Ø 8 mm

SEQUENZA DI SMONTAGGIO
DISMANTLY SEQUENCE
1) Scaldare lo snodo sferico (utilizzare la pistola
ad aria calda)
- Heat the ball joint (use an hot air gun)
2) Fissare lo stelo in morsa, utilizzando le
ganasce 00318, e svitare la testina utilizzando
una spina Ø8.
Ripulire lo stelo da eventuali residui.
- Fix the rod in a vice with jaws 00318 and
unscrew the head, using a prick tool Ø8.
Clean the rod from any remaining contents.
3) Ripetere l’operazione con la manopolina di
regolazione (scaldare con pistola ad aria calda).
Ripulire lo stelo da eventuali residui.
- Repeat the operation for the adjustment knob
(heating with a hot air gun).
Clean the rod from any remaining contents.
Attenzione: nel maneggiare la manopola di
regolazione, avendola scaldata, proteggere
adeguatamente le dita durante la manipolazione
Warning: handle with care the adjuster knob,
because it is very hot: remember to protecting
your hands (see next photo)
4) Con l’attrezzo speciale cod. 00216 svitare il
tappo di chiusura corpo ammortizzatore
- Using the special tool cod.00216 unscrew the
cap from the body of the shock absorber
5) Sfilare e togliere il tappo
- Withdraw and remove the cap

6) Svuotare l’olio, ed estrarre lo stelo con il
relativo gruppo idraulico
- Empty the oil out, and extract the rod together
with the hydraulic group
7) Pulire con apposito detergente il gruppo
idraulico, e asciugare con aria compressa
- Using specific cleaner to wash the parts, and dry
with air gun
8) Posizionare l’ammortizzatore nella morsa, con
la camera di compensazione rivolta in alto.
Servirsi di un collarino di attacco per bloccare il
corpo ammortizzatore in morsa.
- Using the body attachment of the steering
damper, fix it in the vice
9)Utilizzando attrezzo speciale cod. 00217 svitare
il tappo di chiusura lato serbatoio gas
-Using the special tool cod. 00217 unscrew the
cap from the gas tank
10) Togliere il gruppo serbatoio gas.
- Remove the gas tank group
Nel caso si stiano revisionando ammortizzatori di
sterzo del tipo:
-SD-SH (corpo in acciaio)
-SF (corpo in carbonio)
Riferirsi alla sequenza di smontaggio e
rimontaggio del gruppo ghiera a pag.9

SEQUENZA DI RIMONTAGGIO
REASSEMBLY SEQUENCE
1) Applicare grasso Bitubo cod. 997608 sugli O-
ring di tenuta del nuovo gruppo ghiera
contenuto nel KIT e inserirlo nel serbatoio.
- Apply Bitubo grease cod. 997608 to the O-rings
of the new cap group supplied with the KIT. After
insert it in the tank
