1. Todas las instrucciones de seguridad y operación deberán ser leídas antes de que el
aparato eléctrico sea operado.
2. Las instrucciones de seguridad y operación deberán ser guardadas para referencia
futura.
3. Todas las advertencias en el aparato eléctrico y en sus instrucciones de operación
deben ser respetadas.
4. Todas las instrucciones de operación y uso deben ser seguidas.

1. Introduction
1.1 General
The AC550A HDMI Extender is a digital signal booster that corrects
the signal degradation that occurs in long HDMI cables. It is perfect for
extending a HDMI display away from the signal source.
If you need to use a long cable to connect your HDTV to your video
source, you may see pixilation, sparkles, or loss of video and/or audio
when connected directly using cables longer than about 15 feet. To
reconstruct the digital signals, you need to use an equalizer such as the
AC550A. It compensates for the losses of the TMDS signals on its
input, and it also features a switchable boosted video output that can
drive long cables. With quality HDMI copper cables, you can extend
1080p or 1920x1200 resolutions up to about 130 feet total (65 ft on the
input and 65 feet on the output).
The unit is shipped with an external universal power supply.

2. Installation
For extension of the HDMI signal up to 65 feet, place the AC550A at
the remote end (display end). For longer extensions place the AC550A
in the middle of the cable, i.e. connect a 65 ft cable to the input and up
to 65 ft cable on the output. When extending the output set the Enhance
Switch to the ON position. To achieve these distances you must use
high quality HDMI cables. Your results may vary. Contact Black Box
Corporation for your HDMI cable needs.
Remember!
Place the Extender close to your display and connect a long
cable from your source to the input of the AC550A
3. Troubleshooting
There are no field serviceable parts or circuits in the device. If you
think that the device is malfunctioning, please contact Black Box.

to repair the unit. Contact Black Box at 724-746-5500. Before you do,
make a record of the problem. We will be able to provide more
efficient and accurate assistance if you have a complete description.
Shipping and Packaging
If you need to transport or ship your extender:
• Package it carefully. Use the original container if possible.
• Before you shipping the unit, contact us to get a Return
Authorization (RA) number.
