1 WARRANTY
DURATION AND LIMITATIONS
• No warranty on windows, seals, gravel or logs
• Two-year warranty on the valve, control box, thermocouple and pilot light, gas accessories,
remote control and fan
• Two-year warranty on all movable and internal parts other than those above
• Six-year warranty on the overall structure
AGREEMENT
Bodart & Gonay guarantees that its products comply with:
• Its user manual
• Operational safety standards
• The EN 613 standard
LIMITATIONS
Bodart and Gonay reserves the right to change its products, catalogues and user manuals,
independently, at any time, and without prior notice
The warranty will become null and void if the requirements and recommendations described in this
user manual are not complied with.
Service under warranty will be only be completed by the dealer on presentation of the purchase
invoice.
New parts will only be delivered in exchange for the defective ones.

present instructions (see Chimney Assembly)
• Abusive use
• Insufficient maintenance
• The use of electrical or electronic components not certified by Bodart & Gonay
• Modifications or internal changes made to the fireplace
• Transport and installation
Transport and packaging costs.
Costs not approved in advance by Bodart & Gonay.
Costs incurred due to non-use of the fireplace.
EFFECTIVE DATE
The warranty is effective as of the date on the invoice. The invoice is the only document recognised
for warranty purposes.

7 IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
- Ensure there is always a 1.5 cm space between the door and the brickwork
- Keep all flammable materials away from the appliance (nylon fabric, flammable liquids,
etc.) Furniture must also be kept at least one metre from the appliance
- WARNING: children and people who are not familiar with the appliance must refrain from
operating it. If required, additional protection should be added to ensure that children, for
example, cannot touch the appliance
- All visible parts must be considered active heating areas and should not be touched during
operation as this may result in burns
- Only install the draught limiter if there is a vertical length differential of more than three metres
with the horizontal length
- Never use the appliance if the window is damaged or the door has been removed.
- Always insure that the pilot light area is kept clear (stones, log)
8 USING THE FIREPLACE
The fireplace can be operated either remotely or manually to start the fire, stop it, or adjust
the flame.
FIRST FIRE
- When lighting the fireplace for the first time (new season or new installation), air in the gas inlet
pipe may perturb detection of the flame. If this is the case, the fireplace will need to be restarted
several times (to purge the inlet). The door must be opened after each unsuccessful attempt to
start the fireplace in order to avoid a build-up of gas in the combustion chamber
- Wait five seconds for the pilot light to stabilise and visually check for the presence of a flame
before lighting the burner. In addition, it is recommended that the flame level be at its highest
when lighting the burner
- Carefully clean the window before and after the first start up of the fireplace to avoid any
accumulation of particles
- After heating for two hours, shut off the fireplace and let it cool down. Open the door to remove
the whitish deposit on the window with a damp cloth then shut the door again
- The first fire will set the paint and cause smoke: Ensure that the room is adequately ventilated
- Do not touch the paint until the fireplace has cooled as it will become soft the first time it is
heated
Note:
The fireplace will automatically go to safe mode for five minutes after three unsuccessful
attempts to light it.
The door must be opened before trying to light the fireplace again!

8.1. USING THE STANDARD REMOTE CONTROL*
STARTING THE PILOT LIGHT: diagram 1
The remote control must be in the OFF position to start the pilot light. Press the right button (POWER)
once. The ON mode will flash. Next validate by pushing the left button (SET). The ON mode will
continue to be displayed.
Sparking will occur within 10 seconds of the lighting procedure.
Allow the pilot light to stabilise for five seconds and visually check for a flame before changing the
flame level.
STARTING THE BURNER: diagram 1
When the pilot light has stabilised, push on (HIGH) to increase the gas flow or on (LOW) to decrease
the flow. There are three gas levels.
It is recommended that the flame level be set to its highest when lighting the burner.
USING THERMOSTATIC MODE: diagram 2 & 3
To change to “thermostatic” mode, push on the left button (SET) twice then select the desired
temperature using the “higher” and “lower” buttons.
Temperature information to set the appliance is refreshed every six minutes.
It is recommended that the remote control not be left too close to the fireplace in this mode. The
temperature near the fireplace is not representative of the ambient room temperature.
Place the remote control in an area where you want to set the temperature.
USING MANUAL MODE: diagram 4
To return to “manual” mode, push on the left button (SET) twice then select the desired level using
the plus and minus buttons.
CHANGING TEMPERATURE UNITS: diagram 1B
To change from Fahrenheit to Celsius, change to OFF mode then push the POWER button.
Wait until ON blinks then simultaneously push POWER and HIGH.

8.2. SETTING THE FIREPLACE MANUALLY
Set the fireplace manually when the remote control batteries are flat or there is a malfunction or a
poor connexion between the remote and the fireplace (n° 16 of the description on page 8). This
is a plasticised tab at the end of a cable (normally always accessible). This tab has an LED,
an ON/OFF button, and a «high» and a «low» button.
Start-up: Push on the «ON/OFF» button until it beeps.
Flame height: Set the height using the «high» and «low» buttons.
Shut off: Push on the «ON/OFF» button until it beeps.

8.3. INITIALISING THE STANDARD REMOTE CONTROL*
When the fireplace is installed, the remote control must be initialised to establish a connection
between it and the fireplace. It is also sometimes necessary to repeat this operation after changing
batteries or making repairs.
Important: warning!
Initialisation must be done by a trained person and infrequently.
It requires intervention on the remote control and on the 1/0
switch.

9 MAINTENANCE
- Never clean the appliance when it is hot! Wait until it has cooled down
- Dusting: Do not use strong or liquid products. A dry rag or sponge is recommended
- Soiled areas can be restored with SPECIAL HIGH TEMPERATURE aerosols (Bodart & Gonay)
available from your supplier
- Do not use a strong product to clean the window. We recommend the «BG CLEAN» product
available from your supplier
YEARLY MAINTENANCE
The appliance and the outlet duct must be checked and cleaned annually by
your certified installer!
*Shut off the gas intake tap
*Open the door (clean it at the same time)
*Remove the gravel
*Remove dust deposits on the inside of the heating element and the burner using a
hoover or a brush
*Clean the pilot light thermocouple and its body (brush + hoover)
*Check the connections for tightness and ensure that the various parts of the
appliance are operating correctly

10 TROUBLESHOOTING
