Do not operate appliance if power

lid is off. The lid must be on the
kettle in the proper orientation
during operation to engage the
boil dry mechanism. If the lid is
not on the kettle, the kettle may
boil dry, causing damage.

is in the correct voltage position

Power Cords
1. A short detachable power-
supply cord is provided to
reduce the risks resulting from
becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
2. Longer detachable power-supply
cords or extension cords may be
used if care is exercised in their
use.

a. The marked electrical
rating of the detachable
power-supply cord or
extension cord should
be at least as great as
the electrical rating of the
appliance

c. The longer cord should
be arranged so that it
will not drape over the
counter top or table top
where it can be pulled
on by children or tripped
over.
Grounding Instructions
This appliance must be grounded
while in use.
CAUTION: To ensure continued
protection against risk of electric
shock, connect to properly ground
outlets only.
Voltage Selector
1. This kettle was set at the factory
to 120V.
2. Make sure the kettle is unplugged
and empty prior to changing
voltage.
3. Turn the kettle over and locate the
voltage selector.
4. Use a athead screwdriver to turn
the voltage selector, aligning with
the voltage that is appropriate for
your location.
5. When you change the voltage,
you will hear a click.
6. For use in the USA and Canada,
the voltage selector should be
placed in the 120V position. For
use in several countries overseas,
the voltage selector may need to
be placed in the 220-240V
position. Confirm the voltage
available at each overseas
location before using the
appliance.
7. For connection to a 220-240V
supply, use an attachment plug
adapter of the proper
configuration for the power supply
receptacle.

1 year limited warranty from the date
of original purchase.
1. This warranty extends only to
the original retail purchaser or
gift recipient. Keep the original
sales receipt as proof of purchase
is required to make a warranty
claim.
2. This warranty covers any defects
in materials or workmanship from
the manufacturing process.
3. Defects that occurred due to
improper connection, improper
handling, or repair attempts by
non-authorized persons are
not covered by the warranty.
The same applies for failure to
comply with the use of cleaning
and descaling agents that do
not correspond to the original
specications.
4. Damages which are not the
responsibility of the manufacturer
are not covered by the warranty.
This is valid especially for claims
arising from improper use (e.g.
operation without the lid on the
kettle during operation).
5. The warranty becomes void if
repairs are carried out by third
parties who are not authorized by
the manufacturer and/or if spare
parts are used other than the
original ones.
6. Failure to comply with any of the
important safeguards listed in
this manual will void the limited
warranty.

USING THE
KETTLE
Before rst use
1. Remove packaging materials,
labels, and stickers from the
kettle.
2. Read the KETTLE SET UP AND
OPERATION section.
3. Clean the kettle by lling with
clear, cold water to the MAX line.
4. Turn on the kettle and bring to a
boil.
5. Let the kettle cool down 1 minute.
6. Empty water from kettle.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 two more times
before using.
Kettle Set up and Operation
1. Set the kettle on a at, even and
steady surface.
2. Take off the lid, and ll the kettle
with cold water (Fig. A), up to the
MAX line.
3. After lling the kettle with water,
place the lid on the kettle, and
close rmly. Make sure lid is
secured in the proper orientation
(Fig. B).
4. Before plugging the kettle into
the wall outlet, check that the
electrical circuit is not overloaded
with other appliances.
5. Plug the power cord into a
standard wall outlet (Fig. C).
6. Turn on the I/O switch (Fig. D).
The power indicator light will
illuminate.

7. When nished boiling, the switch
will turn off automatically.
8. Pour the hot water slowly into a
vessel (Fig. E).
Note: To manually interrupt the
heating process, press the I/O switch
at any time.
Note: The kettle lid must be on the
kettle during operation to prevent the
kettle from boiling dry.
CLEANING
Clean the kettle regularly. This kettle
contains no user serviceable parts
and requires little maintenance. Leave
any servicing or repairs to qualied
personnel.
• Clean the outside of the kettle
with a damp soft cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleansers.
• After cleaning, dry the kettle
thoroughly.
WARNING:
Do not immerse the kettle in water or
any liquids. This may cause electric
shock or damage the appliance
(Fig. F).

DESCALING
When mineral scale builds up in
your kettle, it can affect temperature
consistency and slow down boil time.
To ensure optimum performance,
Bonavita recommends descaling
the kettle when mineral build-up is
visible inside the kettle. Bonavita
recommends using Full Circle
Descaler.
Note: Vinegar may not effectively
descale the kettle and can be difcult
to thoroughly rinse. Vinegar may also
leave behind an odor that could affect
future uses.
How to use Full Circle Descaler:
1. Fill the kettle with lukewarm water
to the MAX line.
2. Add 1 packet Full Circle Descaler
to the kettle.
3. Bring solution to boil.
4. Let vessel cool for 15 minutes,
then discard solution.
5. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water.

STORAGE
Clean and dry all parts before storing. Store the kettle in its box or in a clean, dry
place. Never wrap the power cord around the kettle.
