you, with your passion for barbecuing and the outdoor lifestyle, will transform
an average summer evening into a beautiful buona sera and your garden into a
giardino.

Please read this manual carefully and keep it stored for future reference! This
manual contains specific instructions for your safety, and for the assembly,
operation and maintenance of your barbecue. Only use the barbecue as described in
these instructions. Exercising good judgement and being careful when operating is
an absolute must!

1. General safety guidelines
Important safety information, pleas read this manual carfully and keep it
stored for future reference!
Important:
*Before the first use, carefully read all the information in this manual.
*Never let children or pets near this barbecue.
*This barbecue may never be operated by children, people with an
intellectual disability, or people under the influence of drugs and/or
medication.
*Always keep as much distance as possible when starting and operating
this barbecue.
*It is imperative to use the supplied gas pressure regulator. If you replace
the gas pressure regulator, the replacement must comply with the EN
16129 standard. The gas pressure of the gas pressure regulator must
correspond to the gas pressure stated on the model label.
*Ensure that the gas hose does not bend during assembly (of the gas
pressure regulator).
*Ensure that the gas tap of the gas cylinder is accessible, so that you can
shut off the gas supply to the barbecue.
*Change the gas cylinder in an area where there are no ignition sources.
*The gas cylinder can be placed underneath the barbecue. This does not
apply to a table-top barbecue.
*Extinguish all flames and DO NOT SMOKE while opening the gas tap and
starting the barbecue.
*This barbecue becomes very hot, please exercise extreme care and pay
attention when using it.
*If you smell gas, make sure that all gas connections are tightened before
using the barbecue. If after that you still smell gas, close the gas tap and
contact the store where you bought the barbecue immediately.
*Always keep flammable and/or combustible substances, gases, liquids,
and materials away from the barbecue and never let them come in
direct contact with the barbecue.

*Failure to follow and/or incorrectly following the instructions,
precautions, safety precautions and warnings contained in this manual
may result in fire or explosion, material damage, and may even result in
serious physical injury or death.
*The barbecue is meant for household use and is only meant for the
preparation of food.
1.1 Assembly
*Assemble the barbecue as explained in the assembly drawings featured in
this manual.
*Incorrect assembly, or not following the correct sequence of assembly as
instructed in the assembly drawings, could lead to very dangerous situations.
*Always be careful and thorough during assembly of the barbecue.
*All parts must be assembled as instructed in the assembly drawings.
*If a part is missing and/or you question the accuracy of the assembly, please
contact your point of sale immediately.
*Never repair or replace parts of this appliance yourself, unless this is explicitly
stated in this manual.
*Never connect a damaged gas hose to the barbecue. This may lead to fire.
*If the barbecue is equipped with a plug, this will be a grounded mains plug, to
protect you from electric shocks. The plug must be plugged into a suitable,
earthed socket. NEVER remove the metal plates from the plug.
*DO NOT modify the appliance.
1.2 Place of use
*Only use the barbecue outdoors (outside) and in a well-ventilated area.
*Never use the barbecue indoors or in any (partly) enclosed space. Toxic
fumes will accumulate, which may cause serious physical injury or may
result in death.
*Never use the barbecue on a flammable or combustible surface.
*Only use the barbecue on a hard, straight, and stable surface that can carry
its weight.
*Keep a minimum of 3 meters distance between the barbecue and all
flammable and/or combustible materials (wood, plastic, foliage, etc.) when
the barbecue is being used.
*Always keep the barbecue away from gasoline and/or other flammable
and/or combustible liquids, gases, fumes, or areas suspected of possibly
containing these.

*Never use the barbecue if there is a strong wind.
*Make sure that the main burner(s) and the infrared burner at the back are
NEVER switched on at the same time. This can lead to warping of the
barbecue lid.
*The barbecue becomes very hot, never attempt to move it during or shortly
after using it.
*Do not use the rotisserie in rain.
*Your barbecue can be used with gas cylinders between 5 kg and 6 kg. The
maximum size of the gas cylinder should be: Dia. 300mm, Height: 470 mm.
Follow the technical information as stated in the instruction manual and
Check with your local gas supplier to have a suitable gas cylinder for your
barbecue.
*Avoid twisting the flexible tube when the appliance is in use. The length of
flexible hose shall not exceed 1.5m. In Finland, the length shall not exceed
1.2m. The hose should certified according to applicable EN Standard and
comply with local code.
*The size of cooking pans can be used in our barbecue between 130mm and
220mm.

3. Assembly drawings
Step 1
Use 6 self-tapping screws to attach the left cover strip to the left side of the
barbecue and repeat this procedure to attach the right cover strip.

Step 2
Use 4 self-tapping screws to attach the strip to the back of the barbecue.

Unscrew the black cover and place the battery (AA) in the igniter with the positive
side (+) facing outwards. Screw the cover back onto the battery compartment in
the correct position.

Step 4
Slide the cover plates into the recesses with the triangular side pointing
upwards. Make sure you place the cover plate with the long side to the infrared
burner on the right side. Place the cooking grill and the grill plate on the edges
of the barbecue.

Verify that the gas type is the same as indicated on the barbecue model label.

4. Use of your barbecue
4.1 General information
Although all gas connections on the barbecue are tested for leaks before transport,
a full test must also be carried out at the place of assembly. Parts may have shifted
during the transportation or assembly of the barbecue. The gas pressure on the
barbecue may also be too high. Check the entire system for leaks regularly and
check the system immediately if you smell gas. If in doubt, shut off the gas supply.
4.2 Gas leak test
Always carry out a gas leak test prior to using the barbecue and after a longer
period of non-use.
*Extinguish any open fire (DO NOT SMOKE while testing for leaks).
*Never carry out this gas leak test near open fire.
*Make a soap solution that consists of equal parts of water and liquid soap or
a mild detergent.
*Follow the steps below:
1. Turn off the control buttons of the burners.
2. Remove the battery from the electronic igniter.
3. Open the gas cylinder.
4. Apply the soap solution to all connections on the gas supply. If no
soap bubbles are formed, there is no gas leak. If bubbles form on a
connection, it means there is a leak there. If you have detected a leak,
immediately shut off the gas supply, tighten all leaking connections, open
the gas cylinder again, and repeat steps 1 to 4.
5. Turn off the gas supply.
6. Use the control buttons to turn the burners on for 10 seconds to release
the pressure in the hose and then turn the burners off again.
7. Remove the soap solution from the connections of the appliance with
cold water and dry it with a cloth. Check all gas connections before each
use (and after replacing the gas cylinder).
It is recommended to check the gas hose for leaks every year, even if the gas
cylinder has never been disconnected from the barbecue.

Please note:
Make sure that you test all individual connections (including the side burner)
when testing the device for leaks and, if necessary, that they are tightened
properly again. Even a small leak in the system can result in a dangerous
situation.
Please note:
Most gas cylinders nowadays are equipped with a mechanism for detecting
leaks inside the tank. If the gas is released too quickly, this mechanism
will shut off the gas supply. A leak can significantly reduce the gas supply,
making it difficult to start the barbecue.
If you are unable to seal a gas leak, shut off the gas supply and contact the
store where you bought the barbecue. Even a small leak can cause a fire.
If you are unable to start the barbecue after having tried a while, contact the
store where you bought the barbecue. Turn the control buttons to “OFF” when
you are not using the barbecue.
4.3 Starting the barbecue
Check the overall condition of the burners. If you are unsure about the condition
of the burners, please contact the store where you bought the barbecue. Make
sure the barbecue is standing on a flat surface. Keep the cooking compartment
clean and free from gasoline and/or other flammable or combustible liquids,
flammable gases, and flammable vapours. Make sure that the combustion and
ventilation are not blocked by any objects.
Do not use aluminium foil in the enamelled burner compartment or around
the flame tamers. Make sure the gas cylinder has adequate ventilation. Put
charcoal/briquettes in the designated coal container. Never use more than 1
kilo of charcoal/briquettes. Instead of firelighters or lighter fluid, it is possible to
use charcoal chimneys, electric starters or other resources suitable for lighting
charcoal. Always use these in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Warning:
*Do not start the barbecue if you smell gas!
*Check the gas hose for cracks or wear (see: GAS LEAK TEST).
*Keep your face and body as far away from the barbecue as possible
when starting the barbecue.
*Do not use spirit, petrol or other flammable liquids to ignite or to re-ignite
the barbecue! Only use igniters that comply with EN 1860-3!
*Use firelighters or a barbecue lighting fluid to ignite the fire.
*Only use firelighters or a barbecue lighter fluid that meets the legal
standard and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
*After the charcoal has turned red-hot, wait 30 minutes before the meat
can be prepared.
*Never add flammable and/or combustible fluids to warm or hot
charcoal/briquettes. This could cause a flame jet, which can result in
physical injury and/or material damage.
*Be careful with adding charcoal/briquettes to an existing fire. A jet flame
can result in physical injury and/or material damage.
*f the grease trap is missing in addition to the ash collector (if applicable),
you may never use the barbecue.
This appliance must be kept away from flammable materials during use.
4.4 Lighting the burners with an electronic igniter
*Make sure all buttons are in the “OFF” position.
*Always open the lid before starting the barbecue.
4.5 Lighting the burners with a match extender (if present)
*The burner can also be ignited with the help of a match into the extender, if
the barbecue is equipped with one. Open the gas supply.
*Keep your face as far away from the barbecue as possible and move the
match extender through the openings in the grills to the burner.
*Position the match extender near the burner openings and press and turn the
control button to the “HIGH” position.
Please note:
If you are unable to start the barbecue after having tried a while, contact the
store where you bought the barbecue.

4.6 Lighting the side burner with the electronic igniter
*Press and turn the control button to the “HIGH” position. You will hear a crackling
sound.
*It may sometimes be necessary to hold the igniter for about 10 seconds.
*If the burner does not turn on after 10 seconds, turn the button back to the “OFF”
position and wait 1 minute before trying again.
4.7 Lighting the side burner with matches
If the electronic igniter fails to light the burner, the burner can also be ignited
with a match.
*Insert the match into the extender, if the barbecue is equipped with one.
*Keep your face as far away as possible from the barbecue and hold the
(extended) match at the burner openings.
*Press and turn the control button to the “HIGH” position.

If you are unable to start the barbecue after having tried a while, contact the
store where you bought the barbecue.

4.8 Storage
*After using your barbecue, close the gas supply and let the barbecue cool down.
*Remove the gas cylinder.
*Store the barbecue in a well-ventilated area and keep children away from the
device.
*Do not place easily flammable products under the barbecue.
*If you choose to store the barbecue outdoors, use a cover to protect your
barbecue from the weather. If stored outdoors, the cover should be removed
regularly to avoid excessive condensation (resulting in oxidation) of metal
parts.
*Allow the barbecue to cool down before putting on the cover or moving the
barbecue.
4.9 Use
*The barbecue becomes very hot, use heat-resistant gloves when using the
barbecue. Do not touch the barbecue without proper protection.
*Use suitable barbecue tools to prepare food on the barbecue.

5. Maintaining your barbecue
Important:
NEVER leave the barbecue outside uncovered. Water may collect in the
barbecue, undercarriage or grease tray. If the grease tray has not been
cleaned after use and the barbecue is not covered, the tray will fill with water,
causing water and grease to flow into the undercarriage. We recommend
that you clean the grease tray after each use.
5.1 Cleaning
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents on the barbecue. These can scratch and
damage the surface.
*Heat the barbecue by turning on the main burners to the highest setting and
then closing the lid. Do not turn the infrared burner(s) on!
*Heat the barbecue for 10 minutes to 250°C.
*Turn off the burners and allow the barbecue ot cool down before cleaning.
*Clean the grills and flat top grill with a suitable cleaning brush (available in the
Boretti webshop).
*Remove the cooking grills and flat top grill.
*Brush charred (food) residue towards the grease tray.
*Remove the grease tray and clean it with warm water and detergent.
*Use warm water and detergent to clean the outside of the barbecue.
*Dry the barbecue with a soft, clean cloth.
5.2 Grease collection tray
The grease tray must be cleaned regularly to prevent the accumulation of dirt
and residue.
Please note:
Make sure the grease tray has cooled down before cleaning it.
5.3 Grills
The grills can be cleaned immediately after cooking, if the barbecue is turned
off, with a suitable cleaning brush. Cleaning the grills with a degreasing agent
and water increases the risk of oxidation/rust. This can be prevented by rubbing
the grills with olive oil after cleaning.

5.4 Stainless steel
After the first use, parts of the barbecue may become discoloured by the intense
heat of the burners. This is normal.
Purchase a cleaning product for stainless steel and use this when brushing Use
a stainless steel cleaning agent and rub it in the same direction as the brushing
of the metal. It is possible that grease splatters and sticks on the stainless
steel parts, making some parts look worn. Use a non-abrasive cleaning agent in
combination with a stainless steel cleaning agent to remove the grease.
5.5 Changing the battery of the igniter (if present)
Turn and remove the igniter button and remove the AA battery. Insert a new AA
battery.
5.6 Enamel parts
Some parts of the barbecue have an enamel coating. Enamel is a glass-based
product and is very durable and wear-free. However, it is not very resistant to
shocks and impact, which may cause fine cracks. These fine cracks can lead to
small pieces of enamel breaking off, resulting in rust spots. However, chips and fine
cracks in the enamel will not affect the performance of your barbecue. No claim
can be made on the warranty for enamel damage in the cooking area after use.
5.7 Ventilation
The burners can only work properly if the heat they produce can also escape. If
this is not possible, the burners may not get enough oxygen. This can cause an
after-ignition, especially if the burners are in the “HIGH” position. If this happens
repeatedly, cracks may occur in the burners. For this reason, there are ventilation
openings around the barbecue.
These allow hot air to escape. Always make sure that there is sufficient open space
around the cooking surface (the grills provide sufficient space). Never cover the
ventilation openings with foil or other materials that obstruct the air flow. Ensure
that the cooking surface is NEVER covered completely, for example by a large pan
or with only grill flat tops.
5.8 Replacing the gas hose
The gas hose must be replaced every two years. Rubber gas hoses can dry out
which may result in gas leakage.

5.9 Burners
It is normal that rust forms on the burners (oxidation). Food residue must be
removed regularly. This can be done with a barbecue cleaning brush. Burners
must be removed for inspection and cleaning periodically, especially after
a period of non-use/storage. The burners must be checked for their overall
condition and to ensure that the openings are not blocked. The burners can be
cleaned by brushing them. If you remove the burners, make sure that the gas
tap and the ignition electrode do not get damaged.
An opening has deliberately been made in the beginning of the burner, to ensure
that there is sufficient oxygen supply to create the right gas mixture. As a result,
you would be able to see a small opening, where the gas tap connects to the
burner. No gas will leak out here.
5.10 Spiders and insects
Spiders and insects may nest in the burners of your barbecue, which means
that the gas can escape out of the front of the burner. This is very dangerous
and may cause a fire behind the control panel. This will damage the barbecue,
which will consequently no longer be safe for use.
We therefore recommend to check the barbecue for spiders, insects and their
nests at least once a year (mainly after a long period of storage). You can do this
by dismantling the burner tubes and blowing into them or brushing them off.
