SAFETY PRECAUTIONSCLEANING AND STORAGE

• Keep the kettle’s casing clean.
• During cleaning observe the instructions
specified in section “Cleaning”.
• Never immerse the kettle, the base with electric
contacts, the power cord or the plug of the power
cord into water or any other liquid. Prevent
formation of water condensate thereon, do
not operate the kettle in places with increased
humidity.
• Put the kettle on a dry and even surface.
• Do not place the kettle in a close proximity to
sources of heat.
• Always unplug the appliance after usage, as well
as before cleaning.
• Upon detection of any damages suspend
operation of the kettle and bring it to the nearest
service center for testing, repair or replacement.
• Regularly remove scale to prevent damage of the
kettle.
• Insufficient water amount (less than 500 ml) will
lead to premature switch off of the kettle.
• Do not open the kettle’s lid during water heating
and immediately after switch off.
• Exercise caution when handling the kettle filled
with hot water.
• The kettle is meant only for boiling of water. Use
the kettle only for the purpose specified.
• Before switching on of the kettle its lid must be
closed.
• For safety reasons all operations on repair and
maintenance of the kettle shall be performed
only by authorized representatives of BORK
certified service centers.
Advice. Before the first use it is necessary to
fill the kettle with water to the maximum level,
to boil and to discharge water to remove all
mechanical participles and dust, which could get
inside the kettle in the course of manufacture and
transportation.
CLEANING OF THE REMOVABLE METAL
FILTER
You can clean the filter with a napkin or a soft
brush simultaneously washing it with running warm
water.
SCALE REMOVAL
Scale forming inside the kettle as a result of boiling
of mains water can gradually change the color of
the internal part of the kettle, including the water
level control scale. Scale must be removed with
a special descaling agent manufactured for kettles.
Before cleaning always unplug the appliance.
Do not use wire wools, chemical agents, abrasive
cleaning agents, agents containing sulfanilamide or
formic acid and acetum for scale removal.
CLEANING OF THE EXTERNAL PART AND
THE CASING
First wipe the external surface of the kettle’s casing
with a wet napkin soaked in a soapy solution and
then wipe with a soft dry napkin. You can also use
special agents for cleaning metal surfaces.
STORAGE OF THE KETTLE
Before placing the kettle for storage unplug, clean
and dry it. The kettle’s lid must be closed. Place the
power cord into the storage compartment. Set the
kettle on the base. Do not put any objects on the
upper part of the kettle.
