2.4 Known limitations Download &
License Tool
2.4.1 Downloading DCN-WCCU and DCN-WAP might
fail
When downloading a DCN-WAP and/or DCN-
WCCU with an older version than 2.31: download
the DCN-WCCU and DCN-WAP without any other
optical device connected, else the download may
fail.
2.5 Known limitations DCN-SWSMV
2.5.1 Legends in PowerPoint may return to default
values
It may happen that the legends in PowerPoint return
to their default values when PowerPoint is switched
to presentation mode. This is due to a bug in
Microsoft.
Three workarounds are available:
1) First start PowerPoint and switch to presentation
mode before starting the voting in DCN-SWSMV
2) Before running DCN-SWSMV, edit the
PowerPoint presentation yourself, so that the
legends are already have the correct texts
3) After running a (dummy) voting round, save the
PowerPoint presentation (when the legends are
correctly displayed).
2.5.2 Open the pre-defined slide in the Microsoft
PowerPoint presentation failed'
If the languages of Microsoft Windows and
PowerPoint are not the same, the predefined slide
cannot be opened. This is a known bug of Microsoft
of which the details can be found via the following
link:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;320369
Set ‘Your locale’ under Regional Options of Microsoft
Windows to the language of PowerPoint.
2.6 Known limitations DCN-2.32
2.6.1 Microphone will be reset to default after a
de-init.
When a de-init wired is activated at the WCCU the
microphone is always set to microphone mode
“open” with 2 active microphones.
2.6.2 Wireless Unit Data is cleared when
performing de-init wired.
When a de-init wired is activated at the WCCU the
wireless unit data (like microphone gain) is cleared.
2.6.3 Activated microphone of chairman 1 does
not return after using priority button by
chairman 2.
In a DCN-Wireless system it’s possible to use more
than one Wireless Discussion Units as Chairman
(refer to chapter 12.4.1 of the Installation & User
Manual).
In case chairman priority is set to ‘Temporarily Off’
in WCCU menu 4G and when more than one
Chairman Unit is used, it’s possible that when the
microphone of chairman 1 is active and chairman 2
presses the priority button, the microphone of
chairman 1 does not switch on again, when
chairman 2 releases the priority button (even
though delegate microphones do come on again).
2.6.4 Abort system control with DCN-SWSMV
can cause acoustic feedback.
The audio volume of the DCN-Wireless system can
be controlled from the DCN-SWSMV, but this is not
the same volume control as on the WCCU (refer to
figure 12.1 of the Installation & User Manual).
When the audio volume in the WCCU is too high
and the master volume control of the DCN-SWSMV
is used to reduce the audio volume to prevent
acoustic feedback, the acoustic feedback will occur
when the DCN-SWSMV is aborted.
This is normal system behavior; it is mentioned here
to remind the user.
2.6.5 Long time needed for upgrading Wireless
Access Point (DCN-WAP).
The Download and License Tool can be used for
upgrading. When “Down Load Optical” is selected,
all applicable devices connected to the optical

DCN Wireless 2.32 Release Notes en | 7
Bosch Communications Systems
network will be upgraded. In case the DCN-WAP is
connected, it will take more than 30 minutes to
upgrade the DCN-WAP.
Bypass: In case the DCN-WAP does not need to be
upgraded, do not connect the DCN-WAP when
selecting “Down Load Optical”.
This is normal system behavior; it is mentioned here
to remind the user.
2.7 Improved functionality DCN-
SWSMV
2.7.1 Remaining Battery Capacity
The icon that shows the remaining battery capacity
has more levels, this gives better information.
Refer to the DCN-SWSMV help files.

3.3 Errata
3.3.1 Integrus manual: added menu 4B Network

3.4 Known limitations Download &
License Tool
3.4.1 Downloading a DCN-WCCU and DCN-WAP
When downloading a DCN-WAP and/or DCN-
WCCU with an older version than 2.31: download
the DCN-WCCU and DCN-WAP without any other
optical device connected. Else the download may
fail.
3.4.2 Downloading DCN-WCCU fails when Windows
is not an English version
This is caused because the Download files can not
be found. The Download & License tool expects
that the Download files are in the following
directory: %SysteemRoot%\Program
Files\Bosch\Digital Congress Network\Download
and License Tool\Files\ (%SystemRoot% is the
drive where Windows is installed)
In a non English Windows the folder "Program
Files" is called differently, therefore the files are not
found. The temporary workaround is:
•Log in as administrator
•Go to the directory where the Download
Tool is installed “ \Program
Files\Bosch\Digital Congress
Network\Download and License Tool “.
“Program Files” will be in local language.
•Open the with Notepad.exe the file:
DownloadTool.exe.config
•Go to section <filelocation>
•Within that section “ \Program
Files\Bosch\Digital Congress

DCN Wireless 2.32 Release Notes en | 9
Bosch Communications Systems
Network\Download and License Tool “ is
the part "Program Files" in English.
•Replace "Program files" into the name of
this folder on your computer as used by
Windows in your language.
•Save the file en close Notepad.
•After this the Download Tool should
function.
This problem is solved in release 2.32
3.5 Known limitations DCN-SWSMV
3.5.1 Legends in PowerPoint may return to default
values
It may happen that the legends in PowerPoint return
to their default values when PowerPoint is switched
to presentation mode. This is due to a bug in
Microsoft.
Three workarounds are available:
4) First start PowerPoint and switch to presentation
mode before starting the voting in DCN-SWSMV
5) Before running DCN-SWSMV, edit the
PowerPoint presentation yourself, so that the
legends are already have the correct texts
6) After running a (dummy) voting round, save the
PowerPoint presentation (when the legends are
correctly displayed).
3.5.2 Open the pre-defined slide in the Microsoft
PowerPoint presentation failed'
If the languages of Microsoft Windows and
PowerPoint are not the same, the predefined slide
cannot be opened. This is a known bug of Microsoft
of which the details can be found via the following
link:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-

Set ‘Your locale’ under Regional Options of Microsoft
Windows to the language of PowerPoint.
3.6 Known limitations DCN-2.31
3.6.1 Microphone will be reset to default after a
de-init.
When a de-init wired is activated at the WCCU the
microphone is always set to microphone mode
“open” with 2 active microphones.
3.6.2 Wireless Unit Data is cleared when
performing de-init wired.
When a de-init wired is activated at the WCCU the
wireless unit data (like microphone gain) is cleared.
3.6.3 Activated microphone of chairman 1 does
not return after using priority button by
3.6.4 Abort system control with DCN-SWSMV
can cause acoustic feedback.
The audio volume of the DCN-Wireless system can
be controlled from the DCN-SWSMV, but this is not
the same volume control as on the WCCU (refer to
figure 12.1 of the Installation & User Manual).
When the audio volume in the WCCU is too high

is used to reduce the audio volume to prevent
acoustic feedback, the acoustic feedback will occur
when the DCN-SWSMV is aborted.
This is normal system behavior; it is mentioned here
to remind the user.
3.6.5 Long time needed for upgrading Wireless
Access Point (DCN-WAP).
The Download and License Tool can be used for
upgrading. When “Down Load Optical” is selected,
all applicable devices connected to the optical
network will be upgraded. In case the DCN-WAP is
connected, it will take more than 30 minutes to
upgrade the DCN-WAP.
Bypass: In case the DCN-WAP does not need to be
upgraded, do not connect the DCN-WAP when
selecting “Down Load Optical”.
This is normal system behavior; it is mentioned here
to remind the user.
3.6.6 No audio on Loudspeakers or Headphones
of Wireless Discussion Units, or one of the
enabled Microphones not working
After starting the DCN-Wireless system it might
occur (seldom) that there is no audio on
Loudspeakers or Headphones of Wireless
Discussion Units, or one of the enabled
Microphones not working. (This does not occur
during operation, but only after startup)
•A temporarily solution is to restart the
system
•The permanent solution is to use a DCN-
WAP with HW-version 1.20 (or higher),
refer to chapter 2.2.4.

4.3.1 Integrus Manual: standby function
When switching off the DCN Next Generation CCU,
the Integrus transmitter indicates “Network Error”
and not “standby”. However, the radiators do switch
to the standby mode. When the DCN Next
Generation CCU is switched on again, the Integrus
transmitter and the radiators return to the “on”
mode.
4.4 Known limitations DCN-SWSMV
1.10
4.4.1 Legends in PowerPoint may return to default
values
It may happen that the legends in PowerPoint return
to their default values when PowerPoint is switched
to presentation mode. This is due to a bug in
Microsoft.

Set ‘Your locale’ under Regional Options of Microsoft
Windows to the language of PowerPoint.
4.5 Known limitations DCN-2.30
4.5.1 RF-reflection can cause Bad Signal
warnings.
The DCN-Wireless system gives a Bad Signal
warning on the display of the WCCU (and on DCN-
SWSMV if applicable) when the RF-signals of the
system are disturbed by another system using the
same frequency (for example WLAN or another
DCN-W system). However it might occur that
materials in the room where the DCN-Wireless
system is used cause so much reflections, that it
seems that there is disturbance from another
system.
If required, these false Bad Signal warnings can be
suppressed by uploading a patch software version
that will be available soon. Contact the Bosch
National Sales Organization for more information.

4.5.2 Microphone will be reset to default after a
de-init.
When a de-init wired is activated at the WCCU the
microphone is always set to microphone mode
“open” with 2 active microphones.
4.5.3 Wireless Unit Data is cleared when
performing de-init wired.
When a de-init wired is activated at the WCCU the
wireless unit data (like microphone gain) is cleared.
4.5.4 Activated microphone of chairman 1 does
not return after using priority button by
chairman 2.
In a DCN-Wireless system it’s possible to use more
than one Wireless Discussion Units as Chairman
(refer to chapter 12.4.1 of the Installation & User

4.5.5 Abort system control with DCN-SWSMV
can cause acoustic feedback.
4.5.6 Long time needed for upgrading Wireless
Access Point (DCN-WAP).
The Download and License Tool can be used for
upgrading. When “Down Load Optical” is selected,
all applicable device connected to the optical
network will be upgraded. In case the DCN-WAP is
connected, it will take more than 30 minutes to
upgrade the DCN-WAP.
Bypass: In case the DCN-WAP does not need to be
upgraded, do not connect the DCN-WAP when
selecting “Down Load Optical”.
This is normal system behavior; it is mentioned here
to remind the user.
4.5.7 Text “starting” remains on WCCU
In a system with an Audio Expander and an
Integrus transmitter, the text “starting” can remain
on the display of the WCCU after start up. On the
display of the Audio Expanders 'No Network' is
flashing.
Switch the network mode of the Integrus transmitter
to enabled and the problem will be solved.
4.5.8 Network mode disabled results in faults
When the network mode of a transmitter is set to
disabled, while connected to a DCN Next
Generation system, noise on the loudspeakers in
the DCN Next Generation system can occur.
Switch the network mode of the Integrus transmitter
to enabled and the problem will be solved.
4.5.9 No audio on Loudspeakers or Headphones
of Wireless Discussion Units, or one of the
enabled Microphones not working
After starting the DCN-Wireless system it might
occur (seldom) that there is no audio on
Loudspeakers or Headphones of Wireless
Discussion Units, or one of the enabled
Microphones not working. (This does not occur
during operation, but only after startup)
•A temporarily solution is to restart the
system
•The permanent solution is to use a DCN-
WAP with HW-version 1.20 (or higher),
refer to chapter 2.2.4.
4.5.10 Sometimes Wireless Discussion Units
(WDUs), do switch ‘off’ after Out Of Range
or Sleep-mode
Wireless Discussion Units can be Out Of Range of
the system for 15 minutes, in case they detect the
correct system within this period the connect again.
The DCN-Wireless system can be in Sleep Mode, in
case the WDUs detect that the system has ‘waken
up’, they ‘wake up’ as well.
In both situations the WDUs might switch off and do
not recover, this is solved in release 2.32.
4.6 Open Interface tools and manuals
not up-to-date yet
4.6.1 Open Interface manual
New commands for controlling wireless settings via
the Open Interface are not described yet in Open
Interface manual.
4.6.2 Developers Toolkit
