3.2 Explaining Signal Words and Safety Alert Symbol
The safety instructions in this documentation contain specific signal words (danger,
warning, caution, notice) and, if necessary, a safety alert symbol (according to
ANSI Z535.6-2006).
The signal word is meant to draw the reader's attention to the safety instruction and sig‐
nifies the degree of danger.
The safety alert symbol (a triangle with an exclamation point), which precedes the sig‐
nal words danger, warning and caution is used to alert the reader to personal injury haz‐
ards.
DANGER
In case of non-compliance with this safety instruction, death or serious injury will occur.
WARNING
In case of non-compliance with this safety instruction, death or serious injury can occur.
CAUTION
In case of non-compliance with this safety instruction, minor or moderate injury could
occur.
NOTICE
In case of non-compliance with this safety instruction, property damage could occur.

4 Intended Use
The Bosch Rexroth panel PCs are PC-based machine operator and visualization termi‐
nals. Depending on the respective configuration they can also perform control func‐
tions. The are intended for the following use cases:
● As operating, visualization and programming terminal with integrated soft control in
stand-alone-machines.
● As operating, visualization and programming terminal for connected IndraControl
controls.
Danger of destruction of the device if not expressly
stated accessories, mounting parts and other com‐
ponents, cables, lines, software and firmware are
used.
NOTICE
The panel PCs may be used only as intended and with the accessories, mounting
parts, and other components specified in this documentation. Components that are not
expressly mentioned must neither be attached nor connected. The same is valid for ca‐
bles and lines.
Operation must only be carried out with the hardware component configurations and
combinations that are expressly specified and with the software and firmware indicated
and specified in the respective documentation and functional descriptions.
Areas of application of the panel PCs are:
● Handling systems and assembly systems
● Packaging and food processing machines
● Printing machines and paper converting machines
● Machine tools
● Wood processing machines
The panel PCs may only be operated under the mounting and installation conditions,
the position, and the ambient conditions (temperature, degree of protection, humidity,
EMC etc.) specified in this documentation.
Danger of destruction of the touch screen if operat‐
ed with inappropriate objects (e.g. screwdriver).
NOTICE
Operate the touch screen only with your finger or with a special touch pen (parts num‐
ber 1070923266).

5.4 Wear Parts
Wear parts are not subject to any warranty.
Backlight
The service life of the backlight is limited. After this time has been exceeded, the back‐
light will produce only 50 % of its original brightness. The service life is approx. 50,000
hours at an ambient temperature of 25 °C.

CMOS battery
The guaranteed service life of the CMOS battery is 5 to 7 years. To replace this battery,
please contact the Bosch Rexroth Service.
Batteries can cause fire, explosions or chemical
burn.
WARNING
Do not load, remove, destroy, burn or heat batteries over 100 °C. Dispose old batteries
immediately and properly. Keep away from children!
Mechanical hard disk
The hard disk is an electromechanical wear part that is subject to wear during the ope‐
rating time. The MTBF ("Mean Time Between Failures" is 300,000 hours in considera‐
tion of the ambient conditions in chapter 6 "Ambient Conditions" on page 12 and the
conditions in fig. 5-4 "Working conditions for the mechanical hard disk" on page 11.
Operating hours (power-on hours) 250 h/month or less than 3000 h/year
Operating time (operating hours) 20 % or less of the operating hours
Accesses 30 % of the operating hours
Fig.5-4: Working conditions for the mechanical hard disk
Solid State Drive
The SSD (Solid State Drive) shock resistance and temperature resistance is higher
compared to an ordinary hard disk. It is only subject to electrical and not to mechanical
wear. The MTTF is a calculated value and is 2 mill. hours if the surrounding air temper‐
ature is 25 °C considering the conditions specified in fig. 5-5 "Working conditions of the
SSD" on page 11.
Operating hours (power-on hours) 8760 h/year (24/7 operation)
Operating time 100% of the operating hours
Fig.5-5: Working conditions of the SSD
The SSD with 100 GB has a guaranteed service life, and 500 TB data can be written on
and deleted from the SSD.
The SSD wears faster if it is often defragmented.
NOTICE
Avoid defragmenting the SSD. SSD is an electronic storage medium. Defragmenting is
not required.

Fan
Fans are mechanical wear components, whose service life is extremely temperature-
dependent. The service life of the fan, which is integrated in the housing, is as follows:
Ambient temperature Service life
40 ℃ 60,000 hours
70 ℃ 30,000 hours
Fig.5-6: Service life of the fan
The housing fan can be exchanged by the customer. For ordering spare parts, please
contact the Bosch Rexroth Service.
The fan of the power supply unit and the processor fan cannot be exchanged. In case
of a fan failure, please contact the Bosch Rexroth Service.

screen. Blistering is no cause for a complaint.
The installed displays comply with class 2 according to ISO 13406-2. Pixel
