Alltag erleichtern wird und an dem Sie viel Freude haben werden.
Bevor Sie mit Ihrem neuen Rollator die ersten Schritte machen,
möchten wir Sie bitten, die Bedienungsanleitung sorgfältig zu lesen
und unseren Empfehlungen zu folgen. Das macht Sie mit Ihrer neuen
Gehhilfe gleich bestens vertraut und gibt Ihnen bei der täglichen
Nutzung das nötige Maximum an Sicherheit.
Sie werden sehen, dass es ganz einfach ist, den Rollator in Betrieb

2. Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise
2.1. Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
• Max. Belastbarkeit des RL-Smart 136 kg!
• Beachten Sie die Klemmgefahr beim Zusammen- und
Auseinanderfalten. Es dürfen sich keine Kleidungs- oder Körperteile
zwischen beweglichen Teilen verfangen.
• Mindesteinstecktiefe der Griffrohre beachten!
•Jede Bremse wirkt nur auf ein Laufrad!
• Die Tasche darf mit max. 5 kg beladen werden.
• Zur Reinigung keine aggressiven oder ätzenden Mittel verwenden!
• Vor jedem Fahrtantritt sind der Rollator auf Unversehrtheit und die
Funktionstauglichkeit der Bremsen zu überprüfen.
• Die Oberflächen des Rollators können sich bei direkter
Sonneneinstrahlung aufheizen. Es besteht Verletzungsgefahr.
• Meldung von Vorkommnissen. Der Betreiber oder Anwender hat
1. jede Funktionsstörung
2. jede Änderung der Merkmale oder der Leistung sowie
3. jede Unsachgemäßheit der Kennzeichnung oder der
Gebrauchsanweisung eines Medizinproduktes, die zum Tode oder zu
einer schwerwiegenden Verschlechterung des Gesundheitszustandes
eines Patienten, eines Beschäftigten oder eines Dritten geführt
hat oder hätte führen können, unverzüglich dem Bundesinstitut
für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte (BfArM) zu melden. Dieses
gibt die Meldung unverzüglich an die für den Betreiber zuständige
Behörde weiter und informiert weiterhin den Hersteller und die für
den Hersteller zuständige Behörde.
2.2. Indikation / Kontraindikation
• Der Rollator unterstützt bewegungseingeschränkte Benutzer beim
Gehen z. B. im häuslichen Bereich, beim Einkaufen oder Spazieren
im Freien.
• Der Sitzbereich ermöglicht es, bei längeren Strecken auszuruhen.
• Den Rollator nur auf ebenem und festem Untergrund nutzen.
• Das Produkt darf nicht als Aufstieghilfe oder Transportmittel für
schwere Lasten benutzt werden.
2.3. Zweckbestimmung
Der Rollator ist ausschließlich zur Mobilitätssteigerung von
gehbehinderten Menschen gemäß oben genannter Indikationen
hergestellt.
2.4. Konformitätserklärung
B+B erklärt als Hersteller des Produktes, dass der Rollator vollständig
den Anforderungen der Richtlinie 93/42/EWG entspricht.
2.5. Verantwortlichkeit
Eine Gewährleistung kann von uns nur übernommen werden, wenn
das Produkt unter den vorgegebenen Bedingungen und zu den
vorgesehenen Zwecken eingesetzt wird. Änderungen, Erweiterungen,
Reparaturen und Wartungsarbeiten können nur von solchen Personen
ausgeführt werden, die von uns dazu ermächtigt wurden und wenn
der Rollator unter Beachtung aller Gebrauchshinweise benutzt wurde.
Eine Gewährleistung kann von uns nur übernommen
werden, wenn das Produkt unter den vorgegebenen
Bedingungen und zu den vorgesehenen Zwecken
eingesetzt wird.

2.6. Nutzungsdauer
Die zu erwartende Lebensdauer beträgt bei bestimmungsgemäßem
Gebrauch, Einhaltung der Sicherheits-, Pflege- und Wartungshinweise,
bis zu 5 Jahre. Über diesen Zeitraum hinaus kann der Rollator bei
sicherem Zustand weiter verwendet werden.
3. Produkt- und Lieferübersicht
3.1. Prüfung der Lieferung
Alle Produkte der Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH werden einer
ordnungsgemäßen Endkontrolle in unserem Hause unterzogen und
mit dem CE-Zeichen versehen.
Der Rollator wird in einem speziellen Karton in Werkseinstellung
geliefert. Nach dem Entpacken bewahren Sie den Karton nach
Möglichkeit auf. Er dient zur evtl. späteren Einlagerung oder
Rücksendung des Produkts.
Die Anlieferung und Einweisung erfolgt in der Regel über den
qualifizierten Sanitätsfachhandel.
Bei Versand per Bahn oder Spedition ist die Ware im Beisein des
Überbringers sofort auf Transportschäden zu kontrollieren.
Prüfen Sie den Inhalt auf Vollständigkeit und Unversehrtheit. Im Falle
von Unregelmäßigkeiten und Beschädigungen setzen Sie sich mit
unserem Kundenservice in Verbindung, Tel.: [phone].

3.3. Lieferumfang
Nach Erhalt der Ware prüfen Sie bitte umgehend den Inhalt auf
Vollständigkeit. Der Inhalt besteht aus:

4. Zusammenbau/Anpassungen
4.1. Entfalten
• Positionieren Sie den B+B Rollator in Fahrtrichtung vor sich.
• Betätigen Sie die Feststellbremsen.
•Drücken Sie die Rahmenrohre des Sitzes nach unten um den
Rollator zu entfalten (Abb. 3). Achten Sie darauf, dass die Rohre
richtig aufliegen und hörbar einrasten.
4.2. Falten
• Betätigen Sie die Feststellbremsen.
• Halten Sie den Rollator mit einer Hand am Handgriff fest.
• Ziehen Sie mit der anderen Hand das Griffband am Sitz nach oben
(Abb. 4).
• Sie müssen dabei den Widerstand der Arretierung überwinden.
4.3. Tasche anbringen
• Der B+B Rollator ist entfaltet. Betätigen Sie die Feststellbremsen.
• Positionieren Sie sich entgegen der Fahrtrichtung vor dem Rollator.
• Ziehen Sie die Laschen der Tasche über den Halter und schieben Sie
diese unter die Fixierstifte (Abb. 5).
4.4. Schiebegriffe einstellen
• Der B+B Rollator ist entfaltet. Betätigen Sie die Feststellbremsen.
• Lösen Sie die Handmutter (Abb. 6) und entfernen Sie die Schraube.
• Positionieren Sie sich hinter dem B+B Rollator und lassen Sie Ihre
Arme locker nach unten hängen.
• Stellen Sie nun die Schiebegriffe so ein, dass sie sich in Höhe Ihrer
Handgelenke befinden.
• Befestigen Sie die Schraube wieder und ziehen Sie die Handmutter an.
• Wiederholen Sie den Vorgang auf der anderen Seite. Achten Sie
darauf, die Griffe in gleicher Höhe festzustellen.

4.5. Bremsbetätigung / -einstellung
Betriebsbremse
Die Betriebsbremse wird mit den beiden Handbremshebeln an den
Schiebegriffen durch Ziehen nach oben betätigt (Abb. 7). Betriebs-
und Feststellbremse wirken auf die Laufräder.
Feststellbremse
• Drücken Sie zum Arretieren die beiden Bremshebel nach unten
(Abb. 8).
• Zum Lösen ziehen Sie die beiden Bremshebel zurück in die
Mittelstellung.
Bremseinstellung
Die Bremse ist richtig eingestellt, wenn ohne Betätigung der Bremse
der Bremsbolzen das Laufrad nicht berührt und die Feststellbremes
noch komfortabel zu betätigen ist.
• Um die Bremse härter einzustellen, ist die Rändelschraube
(Abb. 9) an den Bremsvorrichtungen aufzudrehen und die
Rändelmutter entgegengesetzt zu kontern.
• Bei der Verstellung am Bowdenzug ist zunächst die Kontermutter
(M6) zu lösen.
• Danach wird die Gewindehülse so weit aufgedreht, bis die richtige
Einstellung gefunden ist. Damit sich die Einstellung nicht verändert,
muss die Gewindehülse wieder mit der Mutter (M6) gekontert
werden.
• Um die Bremse weicher einzustellen, ist in bezeichnetem Ablauf
umgekehrt zu verfahren.
4.6. Räder und Bereifung
Ihr Rollator ist mit pannensicheren PU-Rädern der Größe 190 x 43
mm vorne und 170 x 43 mm hinten ausgerüstet.

5. Benutzung
Laufen
Machen Sie Ihre ersten Gehversuche auf ebenem, festem Untergrund.
Machen Sie sich insbesondere mit der Funktion der Bremsen vertraut.
Lassen Sie sich dabei von einer Hilfsperson begleiten.
Für ein anatomisch korrektes Gangbild müssen die Schiebegriffe in
der richtigen Höhe eingestellt sein (Kapitel 4.4.).
• Stellen Sie sich in den Rollator, so dass Ihre Knöchel auf einer Höhe
mit den Hinterrädern sind.
• Nehmen Sie eine aufrechte Körperhaltung ein.
• Fassen Sie die Schiebegriffe mit beiden Händen, Ihre Arme sind
dabei leicht angewinkelt.
Beim Gehen mit dem Rollator versuchen Sie mit Ihrem Körper
möglichst nah an den Schiebegriffen zu bleiben. Das erhöht Ihre
Stabilität und die Kippsicherheit, außerdem vermeiden Sie so einen
krummen Rücken. Versuchen Sie generell, im Rollator zu laufen und
nicht hinter dem Rollator. Machen Sie kleine Schritte und schieben Sie
den Rollator nicht zu weit nach vorne.
Richtungswechsel und Geschwindigkeit bestimmen Sie durch das
Schieben des Rollators. Nutzen Sie immer beide Bremsen, um Ihre
Fahrt zu verlangsamen. Der Rollator würde sich sonst mit dem
ungebremsten Rad um das gebremste Rad drehen und Sie könnten
stürzen.
Hindernisse sind nach Möglichkeit zu umfahren. Versuchen Sie
Rampen zu verwenden oder Aufzüge zu nehmen. Sollte das nicht
möglich sein, muss der Rollator über das Hindernis getragen werden.
Suchen Sie sich dafür nach Möglichkeit die Hilfe einer zweiten Person.

7. Pflegehinweise für den Benutzer
7.1. Reinigung und Desinfektion
• Die Rahmenteile des Rollators können mit einem feuchten Tuch
abgewischt werden. Bei stärkeren Verschmutzungen können Sie ein
mildes Reinigungsmittel verwenden.
• Die Räder können mit einer feuchten Bürste mit Kunststoffborsten
gereinigt werden (keine Drahtbürste verwenden!).
• Schiebegriffe, Armpolster, Sitz- und Rückenpolster können
abgewaschen werden. Verwenden Sie ein mildes Reinigungsmittel.
• Zur Desinfektion verwenden Sie ein nach VAH gelistetetes
Desinfektionsmittel.
7.2. Überprüfung des Rollators
durch den Benutzer
7.2.1.Bremsenüberprüfung
Überprüfen Sie vor jedem Fahrtantritt die Funktionstüchtigkeit der
Bremsen.
Bei angezogenen Bremsen sollte der Rollator nicht wegzuschieben
sein.
Bei gelösten Bremsen sollte der Rollator leichtgängig und ohne
Schleifgeräusche geradeaus laufen.
Sollten Sie ein ungewohntes Bremsverhalten bemerken, verständigen
Sie sofort Ihren Fachhändler und ziehen Sie den Rollator aus dem
Verkehr.

7.2.2. Überprüfung der Bereifung
Überprüfen Sie vor jedem Fahrtantritt die Reifen auf Unversehrtheit.
Bei Beschädigung des Reifens ist eine Instandsetzung durch eine
autorisierte Fachwerkstatt zu veranlassen.
8. Wartungshinweis für den
Fachhandel
Bei Störungen oder Defekten am Rollator ist dieser unverzüglich dem
Fachhändler zur Instandsetzung zu übergeben.
Dem Fachhändler werden auf Anfrage die notwendigen Informationen
und Unterlagen für die Reparatur und Instandsetzung zur Verfügung
gestellt. Ein Schulungsprogramm für den Fachhandel steht zur
Verfügung.
Für Fragen steht Ihnen der B+B-Kundenservice unter der Rufnummer

Sie müssen Ihren Rollator regelmäßig gemäß
Wartungsplan überprüfen und als einwandfrei
befinden.
9. Lagerung / Versand
Falls der Rollator eingelagert oder versendet werden soll, ist es
ratsam die Originalverpackung aufzubewahren und für diese Zwecke
einzulagern, so dass sie im Bedarfsfall verfügbar ist.
Dann ist Ihr Rollator optimal gegen Umwelteinflüsse während der
Lagerung oder des Transports geschützt.
10. Wiedereinsatz
Der Rollator ist zum Wiedereinsatz geeignet. Für den Wiedereinsatz
ist der Rollator zunächst gemäß den beiliegenden Pflege- und
Hygienehinweisen gründlich zu reinigen und zu desinfizieren.
Anschließend ist das Produkt von einem autorisierten Fachmann auf
allgemeinen Zustand, Verschleiß und Beschädigungen zu überprüfen
und ggf. zu reparieren.
11. Reparatur
Reparaturen und Instandhaltungsmaßnahmen dürfen nur von
autorisierten Partnern (Sanitätshäuser oder Fachhändler) durchgeführt
werden.

12. Entsorgung
Auch ein ausgedienter Rollator stellt eine wertvolle Materialquelle dar,
die dem industriellen Zyklus wieder zugeführt werden kann. Werfen
Sie deshalb Ihren zu entsorgenden Rollator nicht in den Hausmüll,
sondern lassen ihn durch eine staatlich zugelassene Entsorgungsstelle
fachgerecht entsorgen. Ihre örtliche Müllabfuhr wird Ihnen gerne
entsprechende Auskünfte geben. Die Umwelt dankt es Ihnen.
Wenn Sie die Entsorgung selbst übernehmen
möchten, erkundigen Sie sich bei ortsansässigen
Recycelingunternehmen nach den Vorschriften Ihres
Wohnorts.
13. Garantie
Garantieleistungen beziehen sich auf alle Mängel des Rollators, die
nachweislich auf Material- oder Herstellungsfehler zurückzuführen sind.
Bei Beanstandungen ist die vollständig ausgefüllte Garantieurkunde
mit einzureichen.
Für unsere Produkte übernehmen wir die gesetzliche Garantie von
2 Jahren. Für Austauschgeräte und Reparaturen gilt eine
Gewährleistungsfrist von 1 Jahr.
Darüber hinaus beachten Sie bitte die B+B Pflege-, Gewährleistungs-,
Hygiene- und Wartungshinweise. Diese werden Ihnen von Ihrem
Fachhändler gerne zur Verfügung gestellt.
Nichtbeachtung der Bedienungsanleitung sowie
unsachgemäß durchgeführte Wartungsarbeiten,
insbesondere technische Änderungen und
Ergänzungen (Anbauten), die ohne die Zustimmung
der Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH durchgeführt werden,
führen zum Erlöschen sowohl der Garantie als auch
der Produkthaftung.

2.1. General Safety instructions

• Each brake only affects one running wheel!
• The bag can be loaded with max. 5 kg.
• When cleaning, do not use any aggressive or corrosive cleaning

notification to the operator’s competent authority and also
inform the manufacturer and the manufacturer’s competent
authority.
2.2. Indications / Contra-indica-
tions
• The rollator supports users with limited mobility to move, e.g. for
domestic use, when shopping or walking outdoors
• The seat area allows a place to rest during longer distances.
• The rollator must be used on level and solid ground only.
• The product must not be used as a climbing aid or means of
transport for heavy loads.
2.3. Purpose
The rollator is intended to support mobility of persons with an impaired
ability to walk, in accordance with the above-mentioned indications.
2.4. Declaration of Conformity
B+B, as manufacturer of the product, declares that the rollator fully
meets the requirements of the guideline 93/42/EEC.
2.5. Resposibility
We are only able to provide a warranty if the product is used in
accordance with the specified conditions and for the intended purposes.
If modifications, repairs or maintenance works are made, please make
sure only authorised persons perform these works in accordance to the
instructions of B+B.

2.6. Product life
The expected product life of the rollator amounts up to 5 years if used
as intended and in compliance with the safety, care and maintenance
instructions. Over this period and beyond, the rollator can be used if the
product is in a safe condition.
3. Description of product and
contents
3.1. Inspection on delivery
All B+B rollators are subject to a proper final inspection in our house
and receive the CE mark.
The rollator is supplied in a special box. After unpacking, please save
the box if possible. You may need it later for storage or to return the
product.
Assembly, adjustment to your body size and first instructions are taken
care of by your qualified mobility dealer.
If delivered by rail or a forwarding agent, the product is to be checked
with regard to transportation damage at once in the presence of the
shipper.
Check the contents for completeness and make sure nothing is
damaged. Should you find any irregularities or damage, please contact
our customer service (Tel.: [phone]).
We are only able to issue a guarantee if the product
is used in accordance with the specified conditions
and for the specified purpose.

4. Assembly/adjustments
4.1. Unfolding
• Position the B+B Rollator in front of you in the direction of travel.
• Apply the parking brakes.
• To unfold the rollator, push the frame of the sit downwards (Fig. 3).
Make sure that the frame is laid out correctly and that it clicks into
place.
4.2. Folding up
• Apply the parking brakes.
• Hold the rollator firmly with one hand on the handle. With the
other hand, pull the strap on the seat upwards (Fig. 4).
• You need to push past the resistance of the locking mechanism.
4.3. Installing the functional bag
• The B+B Rollator is unfolded. Apply the parking brakes.
• Position yourself with your back towards the direction of travel in
front of the B+B Rollator.
• Pull the straps of the bag over the handle and slide these under the
pins (Fig. 5).
4.4. Adjusting the handles
• The B+B Rollator is unfolded. Apply the parking brakes.
• Loosen the nut (Fig. 6) and remove the fixation screw.
• Stand behind the B+B Rollator and allow your arms to hang loosely
down.
• Now insert the handles so they are at the height of your wrists.

• Secure the screw and tighten the nut.
• Repeat the process for the other side. Make sure that both handles
are at the same height.
4.5. Brake application and
adjustment
Service brake
The service brake is operated by both hand brake levers on the
handles by pulling upwards (Fig. 7). Service and parking brakes
affect the running wheels.
Parking brake
• To lock, push both brake levers downwards (Fig. 8).
• To release, pull both brake levers back to the central position.
Brake adjustment
The brake is set properly, if the brake pins do not touch the wheel and
the locking brake can be activated easily.
• To adjust the brake to make it harder, unscrew the knurled-screw
(Fig.8) on the braking mechanism and lock it with the other nut.
• With the adjusting of the Bowden cable (M6), loosen the locknut
first.
• Next the threaded sleeve is adjusted until the correct adjustment is
found. To prevent the setting from changing, the threaded sleeve
(M6) must be locked with the nut (M6).
• To adjust the brake to make it softer, follow the above procedure in
reverse.

4.6. Wheels and tyres
Your rollator is fitted with puncture resistant PU wheels with
sizes 190 x 43 mm at the front and 170 x 43 mm at the back.
5. Use
Walking
Make your first attempts to walk with the rollator on a flat, firm surface.
Familiarise yourself with the function of the brakes. Let someone
accompany you during this initial period.
For an anatomically correct gait, the push handles must be set at
proper height (see sec. 4.4).
• Place yourself in the rollator so that your ankles are at the height of
the rear wheels.
• Stand with good posture.
• Grasp the push handles with both hands and your arms bent at a
slight angle.
When walking with the rollator try to stay as close as possible with
the body to the push handles. This increases the stability and safety
against tipping over; in addition, avoid a crooked back. Try to generally
walk in the rollator and not behind it. Take small steps and do not push
the rollator too far ahead.
You can determine the change of direction and speed by pushing
the rollator. Always use the brakes to slow down your movement. The
rollator could otherwise turn with the unbraked wheel and the braked
wheel, and could fall over.
Go around obstacles whenever possible. Try to use ramps or take lifts. If
this is not possible, the rollator must be carried over the obstacle. Find
a second person to help you do this, if possible

7. Maintenance tips for users
7.1. Cleaning and disinfection
• The frame and the paneling of the wheelchair can be cleaned with
a moist cloth. You can use a mild detergent for more stubborn dirt.
• The wheels can be cleaned with a wet synthetic fiber brush (do not
use a wire brush!)
• Push handles, arm pads and seat pads can be washed off. Use a
mild detergent.
• Use a disinfectant listed by VAH for disinfection..
7.2. Rollator check by the user
7.2.1. Brake Inspection
Make sure your brakes are operating properly before each use.
It should not be possible to push the rollator away while the brakes
are activated.
The rollator should be easy to drive without grinding noises and with
good direction stability when the brakes are released.
If you notice unusual behaviour when braking, inform your qualified
mobility dealer immediately and do not use the rollator.

7.2.2. Checking the tyres
Check whether the tyres are intact every time before driving.
If the tyre is damaged, it must be repaired by an authorised dealer.
8. Maintenance tips for retailers
If faults or defects at the rollator are found, it must be returned to the
dealer for repair immediately.
The dealer can receive the required information and documentation for
repair and service on request. A training program is also available for
dealers.

9. Storage/shipping
In the event that the rollator will be stored or shipped, it is advised to
keep the original packaging to store in it for this purpose, so that it is
on hand if necessary. Then your rollator can be optimally protected
against environmental influences during storage or transport.
10. Re-use
The rollator is suitable for re-use. For re-use, the rollator should
firstly be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in accordance with the
enclosed care and cleaning instructions. Finally, the product should
be professionally checked for general condition, wear and tear and
damage and if necessary, repaired by an authorised specialist..
11. Repairs
Repairs and maintenance measures are only permitted to be carried
out by authorised partners (medical houses or specialist suppliers).

12. Disposal
A worn out rollator has a valuable source of material, which can be
recycled into the industrial cycle. Therefore, do not throw your rollator
away with household waste, but allow it to be professionally disposed of
by a state approved disposal department. Your local rubbish collection
will have information regarding this. The environment will thank you.
If you wish to dispose the rollator yourself, please
contact a local recycling company for the disposal
regulations of your local jurisdiction.
13. Warranty certificate
Guarantees refer to all faults of the product that are attributed
to material of manufacturing faults. In the event of complaints, the
complete, filled in warranty certificate shall be submitted.
Our products come with a statutory guarantee of 2 years. For
replacement devices and repairs, a warranty period of 1 year applies.
Please also observe the B+B care, warranty, hygiene and maintenance
instructions. Your qualified mobility dealer will be happy to provide
these to you.
Warning! Non-observance of the instruction
manual, improper maintenance and in particular
any technical changes and supplements (added
fittings) without the approval of B+B will generally
lead to forfeiture of warranty and product liability
claims.
