The Oral-B Professional Care 8500 OxyJet
irrigator mixesair into water in the form of
micro-bubbles. These micro-bubblesin the
water stream have been shown in laboratory
teststo fight plaque bacteria. At the same time,
the irrigator removesremaining food particles
from between your teeth and massagesyour
gums. Alwaysuse the irrigator after brushing
your teeth.
Please read the use instructionscarefully before
first use.
Important
The appliance must be mounted in a way that it
cannot fall into water. The plug should always
be accessible. Periodically check the cord
for damage. A damaged or non-functioning
appliance shall no longer be used. Take it to an
Oral-B Braun Service Centre.

Using the irrigator
Before using for the first time, fill the water
container (i) and allow the water to run through
completely by holding the irrigator handle (h)
over a washbasin.
1. Attach one of the irrigator jets(a) to the
handle until it locksinto place. Fill the water
container with water and add mouthwash,
if desired.
2. Turn on the irrigator by pressing the on/off
switch (e).
(When doing so, the handle switch should
be in the lower position = water stop).
3. Select the water pressure with the pressure
control dial (f) («1» = gentle, «5» = strong).
We recommend that you start with setting
«1», especially if your gumstend to bleed or
if children are using the irrigator.
4. Bend over a washbasin and guide the jet
to your teeth and gums. Slide the handle
switch (g) up to start the water stream. Keep
your mouth slightly open to allow the water
to run into the washbasin.
You can choose between two different jet
functionsby sliding the jet switch (b) down
or up (before doing so, turn off the water
stream by sliding the handle switch down):
Rotating stream: for general cleaning and gum
massage (jet switch in lower position):
The rotation of the water stream and itsmicro-
bubblesisdesigned for easy penetration.

Mono stream: straight water stream for site-
specific cleaning (jet switch in upper position).
Max. operating time: 15 minutes
Cooling off time: 2 hours
To ensure the irrigator jet functions, a small
sieve isincorporated in the lower end of the
shaft. Should you notice a reduced water
pressure, check the sieve for any deposits
and remove them, e.g. by carefully tapping the
shaft on a flat surface.
After use
Alwaysempty the water container entirely to
prevent bacteria from collecting in the standing
water. If your dentist hasrecommended the use
of a chlorhexidine solution with your irrigator,
allow some water to run through the irrigator
after use to prevent any deposit build-up.
Press the on/off switch to turn off the irrigator.
The irrigator will automatically turn off after
10 minutesif you forget to turn it off manually.
In thiscase, to turn it on again, you have to
press the on/off switch twice.
To take off the irrigator jet, press the jet release
button (d). The jetscan be stored in the jet
compartment (c). Wipe the handle dry and place
it back onto itsbase.
Cleaning
Regularly clean the housing with a damp cloth.
The water container and the jet compartment
are removable and dishwasher-safe.

the household waste at the end of its
useful life. Disposal can take place at an
Oral-B Braun Service Centre or at
appropriate collection pointsprovided in your

The nozzle may break or become damaged if a strong force is exerted on it.
Please refrain from using nozzle in this situation.
Please check that the nozzle is not shaky or damaged before use, since this
could harm your gums or lips.

Guarantee
We grant 1 year guarantee on the product
commencing on the date of purchase. Within
the guarantee period we will eliminate, free of
charge, any defectsin the appliance resulting
from faultsin materialsor workmanship, either
by repairing or replacing the complete appliance
aswe may choose. Thisguarantee extendsto
every country where thisappliance issupplied
by Braun or itsappointed distributor.
Thisguarantee doesnot cover: damage due to
improper use, normal wear or use, especially
regarding the brushheads, aswell asdefects
that have a negligible effect on the value or
operation of the appliance. The guarantee
becomesvoid if repairsare undertaken by
unauthorised personsand if original Braun parts
are not used.
To obtain service within the guarantee period,
hand in or send the complete appliance with
your salesreceipt to an authorised Oral-B Braun
Service Centre.
