30VT Base Replacement (5/16” Seat Pivot Bolt)

Parts Required:
Model 30VT chair with 1/4" seat pivot bolts (Built before 2016-JAN-01) (width specific)
Replacement base for 30VT with 5/16” seat pivot holes (width specific)
Tools Used:
3/16” Allen Key
#2 (Red) Robertson Screwdriver
7/16” Wrench (X2)
1/2” Wrench (X2)
5/16” Drill Bit

Contact your sales representative for configuration verification.

Remove original base from chair (keep fasteners for reuse).

Remove armrest adjustment set screws and armrests from base.

Remove legrest elevation handle from front left side of base.

Remove seat tilt cylinder bolt from rear of base.

Remove all four casters from base. (Note right rear caster is a
directional locking tracking caster.)

Remove seat pivot bolts from base seat height tab (Note which hole
is being used) (Discard these fasteners and spacers.)

Drill out seat pivot holes in original seat to 5/16”. Be careful to drill
straight through the existing holes without drifting on an angle.

Reassemble chair with new base and seat pivot hardware in reverse
order described above. Reinstall new base with pivot bolts and
spacers. Each side will receive a 5/16-18 hex head 2.5”L bolt, a 5/16”
nyloc nut, a 3/8”THK spacer for a 5/16” bolt, and a 5/16”ID 1/2”THK
Spacer for 5/16” bolt.
