HL-4040CDN – Networking and Duplex
The HL-4040CDN color laser printer produces

small office. With print speeds up to 21

The feature-rich HL-4040CDN also provides built-in automatic

Walk-up printing
The HL-4040CDN and HL-4070CDW offer an
easy access built-in USB Direct Interface
for convenient “PC free” printing. With
this feature, users can print PDF and
JPEG files directly from a USB flash
memory drive4.
The USB Direct Interface also provides
PictBridge support. Simply connect your
PictBridge-enabled camera to print pictures
directly from the camera, without first
downloading to a PC4.
Flexible paper handling
The HL-4000 Series can handle all of your printing needs from letter
to legal size paper plus envelopes. The printers arrive with an
adjustable 250-sheet capacity paper tray, and a fold-down 50-sheet
capacity multi-purpose tray.
If you need additional capacity, the HL-4070CDW offers an
optional 500-sheet capacity paper tray1for a total input
capacity of 800 sheets.
Built-in duplex printing
Printing on both sides of the paper has never
been easier. Produce professional-looking two-
sided documents using the automatic duplex
feature. This feature enables you to save paper
and reduce costs.
User-friendly control panel
The HL-4000 Series’ innovative
control panel features intuitive
one-touch buttons for easy
operation. It also includes a
flip-up 3-color LCD display,
which instantly indicates the
printer’s status, as well as easy-
to-follow menu selections for
setting up your printer. This
easy-to-view display also clearly
indicates the toner and paper
status.
For document security, the
control panel features a
password protect feature to
help ensure that only the
password holder will see
confidential documents.
Compatibility
The HL-4000 Series ensures seamless operation by arriving with a
complete set of PC and Mac®drivers (see product specifications chart).
In addition, these printers offer support for PCL®6 emulation, and
the HL-4070CDW also provides BR-Script33emulation for compatibility
with leading office and design applications.
