(400Hz). Circulating currents may cause themagneticcircuitsoftheJawsreacha
hazardoustemperature.

measurements.Makesurethejawsarecompletelyclosed,orelseitwillintroduce

UsingResistance or Continuity functioninalivecircuitwillproducefalseresultsand
may damage the meter. In many cases, the suspected component(s) must be
disconnectedfromthecircuittoobtainanaccuratemeasurementresult.

When using Diodetestfunction , normalforwardvoltagedrop(forwardbiased)fora
goodsilicondiodeisbetween0.400Vto0.900V.Areadinghigherthanthatindicatesa
leakydiode(defective).Azeroreadingindicatesashorteddiode(defective).AnOL
indicates an open diode (defective). Reverse the test leads connections (reverse
biased)acrossthediode.ThedigitaldisplayshowsOLifthediodeisgood.Anyother
readingsindicatethediodeisresistiveorshorted(defective).

Proper Rotation detection relies on solid signal connection to all three test lead
terminals simultaneously. Any single disconnection will lead to detectionfailureand
may produce false indication. To verify signalconnectionandhencepropermeter
indication, swap anytwoconnects( to the meter) to check for meter indication of
reversemovement

Connect tothe Motoras illustrated.Besuretheelectricitysupplyisremoved. From the
perspectiveoflookingdowntheshaftofthemotor, speedspinitclockwise to generate
sufficientsignalstrengthforpropermeterdetection. Ifthemeterindicatesaclockwise
movement,themotorleadsconnectedtoL1,L2andL3ofthemeterare L1,L2andL3
(alsoknownasR,SandT) respectively.Ifthemeterindicatesacounte rclockwise
movement,swapanytwoconnectsbetweenthemeterandmotor.Thenretest.
Connecttothe Electricity Supply as illustrated. Ifthemeterindicatesaclockwise
movement,thephasesconnectedtoL1 ,L2andL3ofthemeterareL1,L2andL3
(alsoknownasR,SandT) respectively.Ifthemeterindicatesacounter clockwise
movement,swapanytwoconnectsbetweenthemeterandphases.Thenretest.
Connect the above mentioned L1,L2andL3 ofaMotor and that of the Electricity
Supply respectively should beable toget aclockwisemotormovement.

TheComplementaryBeeperfeature can be selected in Powerup option. Press and
hold the buttonwhileturningthemet eron toenable. When the LCD segments
indicateaclockwisemovement,thebeepersoundsasinglelongbeeppersegment
cycle. When thesegmentsindicateacounterclockwisemovement,thebeepersounds
3shortbeepspersegmentcycle.
Hold feature freezesthedisplayforlaterview. LCD turns on. Press the
button momentarilyto toggle the holdfeature.
Press button for one second or more to toggle the mode. It
captures RMSvaluesof inrushcurrentin durationasshortas 80ms.LCD annuciator
turns on.AutoPowerOff is disabledautomaticallyinthismode.
Press the buttonfor1secondor moreto toggle the LCD backlight on/off. The
backlight willalsobeturnedoffautomaticallyafter20 minutes toextendbatterylife.

If the instrument voltageresistance input terminal has subjected to high voltage
transient(causedbylightningorswitchingsurgetothesystem undertest)byaccident
orabnormalconditionsofoperation,the protectiveimpedancecomponent s in series
