Setup Guideline first.

Hardware Setup of WHR-1166D Router:
1. Set Router switch to “ROUTER”。
2. Power on Buffalo Router and wait for 2 minutes. All LEDs will be lighting
on.
3. To reset the router, please insert “Reset” hole by a paper clip for about
10 seconds, and wait for 2 minute. All LEDs will be lighting on again.
4. Please connect your broadband service with a network cable (or from
cable modem) to the “Internet”port on the ROUTER. Then use another
network cable to connect “LAN1”port on the ROUTER to the Ethernet
adapter on your PC.

WHR-1166D Internet Connection Setup: (PPPoE):
5. Launch Web Browser, enter http://192.168.11.1 in address bar and then
press “Enter”. Then type username as “admin” and input “password” at
the password field.
6. At the home page’s top click the “Internet”icon.
7. Router will be detecting the internet type automatically.
8. Please input your username (e.g. [e-mail] or
[e-mail]) and password of your broadband service.
Then click “NEXT”.

9. Wait for about 1 minute. If “check the internet connection”process is
successful the following page will be displayed.
Then click “Complete”back to home page.
10. If the information incorrect the following page will be displayed please
“BACK”to return previous page, re-enter the Username and Password to
check the connection again.
11. Choose “Advanced Settings” in home page.
12. Choose “Internet”-> “Internet”
-In “Method of Acquiring IP Address“select “Use PPPoE client”
-Click “Apply” to save settings.

13. Choose “Wireless”-> “WPS”
-Behind “WPS”, Please uncheck the “Enable” checkbox.
-Click “Apply” to save settings.
14. Click “HOME”return to home page.
15. In home page select “Wireless”.
16. Setup wireless for ”2.4GHz”and “5GHz”signal
-Behind “SSID1”, type a new wireless network name for the router.
-In “Encryption”choose “WPA-PSK AES”.
-Enter an 8-63 characters wireless password in the “Encryption Key”.
(You may use “0-9”, “a-z” and “A-Z”, the wireless password is
case-sensitive)
-In “Channel”, please select a fixed channel. (“Auto Channel”is NOT
recommended)
-For “Bandwidth”please select “40MHz”of “2.4GHz”and ”80MHz”
of “5GHz”.
-Then press “Apply”.
17. Click “Apply”again to confirm then wait about 2 minutes.
18. Settings complete.
