1.1 Overview
Do you suffer from Muscle Soreness, Pain, or Stress?
The ultimate healing device, the BuffEnuff® “BE” Power Massager delivers powerful percussive therapy to tight muscles, trigger points and scar
tissue and can quickly relax tense muscles, provide instant relief from tension, and relieve everyday aches and chronic pain.
Pain is your body’s attempt to alert you there could be a problem. Pain is important because it helps you stay alert to changes within your body. Ignoring
pain may cause damage or injury. Sometimes pain is prolonged and requires medical attention to determine the cause and possible ways to help
alleviate it.
The perception of pain does not begin until the messages traveling from the body to the brain are received and decoded. The pain messages travel
from an injured area (both chronic and acute) along small nerve pathways and into the spinal cord to the brain. In the brain, the messages are detected
and a signal is sent to the original area where the first messages arose. Your awareness of pain is felt immediately in some cases and delayed in other
instances. Pain is neither good nor bad but mainly a signal for you to interpret and provide appropriate response.
Explanation of Percussion Massage
Percussion Massage is a non-invasive drug free method for controlling pain and improving function. The BuffEnuff® Power Massager uses gentle, yet
powerful, waves of mechanical motion to gently assist muscles to improve blood flow, lymphatic activity, and flexibility.
In some cases, the physiological actions created by application with the BuffEnuff® Power Massager can lead to pain relief. Percussion Massage
does not cure any physiological problem. Instead, it enhances your own body’s recuperative capacity to heal itself. Individual responses will vary
depending on condition, age, genetics, activity level, etc. However, many people experience benefits from regular use of the BuffEnuff® Power
Massager’s percussive care application.

2.4 Applications for BuffEnuff® Power Massager
The BuffEnuff® Healing Technique is created to help you achieve the best results from your BuffEnuff® Power Massager. The techniques are
simple to learn and teach others. No special training is required to use the BuffEnuff® Power Massager and it is easy to use on yourself too!
Additional advanced training is available and certification courses are provided for fitness and health professionals. Courses are fun and highly
interactive and will provide health and fitness professionals with an in depth understanding and application of this powerful therapeutic healing
massager.

DESCRIBING THE PAD CONTACT ON THE BODY
FLAT®- When the flat part of the pad surface is used in full contact with the body.
TILT®- When contacting the body with a slight tilt in the Buff Enough and the pad is at about a 30-45 degree angle to the body.
EDGE®- When contacting the body with the side of the pad and may by used for deeper penetrating healing.
THE APPLICATION OF BUFFENUFF® TECHNIQUE
HOVER®- Using a flat contact hold the BuffEnuff® softly over the body with light or no pressure applied and move gently. HOVER® helps
patient/client get used to the percussion action of the BuffEnuff® Power Massager.
WRAPPING®- Using a flat contact rest the buffer gently on the body and apply light downward pressure while moving the BuffEnuff® around the body
surfaces from one side to other. Imagine wrapping a large bow around the body as you trace a line back and forth carefully massaging all body surfaces
along the back, buttocks, and legs. Avoid the head during this technique. WRAPPING® is an excellent technique to use following a HOVERING®.
CLEARING®- Using a tilt contact, apply a moderate amount of downward pressure toward the tilted edge of the BuffEnuff®. Then move the
BuffEnuff® along the muscle surface up and down like you were ironing a garment. Using one pattern of movement (ie. top - down) is the most
effective way to clear the muscle of waste products that can cause muscle pain. CLEARING® is helpful after exercise to reduce muscle soreness.
STRIPING®- Using an edge contact, imagine you’re painting a stripe along the body working perpendicular to the muscle fibers. Make long and short
motions across the body and apply pressure to tolerance of patient/client. Always get feedback about the pressure you’re using on the BuffEnuff®.
Note: Edge contact delivers more concentrated percussion action into muscle tissue.
DRUMMING®- Using a flat contact, hold the BuffEnuff® gently over the treatment area in one location. Now gently lift the BuffEnuff® 1-3 inches off
the treated area and then gently tap the pad up and down like you’re using the BuffEnuff® as a drumstick and the body is a drum. Gentle up and down
movements with minimal force are all that is required.
GROUNDING®- Using a flat contact, hold the BuffEnuff® firmly over the treatment area and apply firm pressure. While holding the pressure firmly,
lighten the pressure briefly without allowing the pad to lose contact with the body. Then apply deep firm pressure again. Repeat as needed.
SQUARING®- Using the BuffEnuff's® edge apply moderate pressure for 3-5 seconds. Then remove and apply in the same location except move the
edge contact perpendicularly to so the healing waves are distributed at a different angle to the tissue.
HINGING®- Using a flat contact or a slight variation of the tilt or edge, hold the buffer over the joint that will receive the hinging technique. Maintain a
moderate depth contact with the BuffEnuff® and instruct patient to move his/her joint through its normal range of motion. It is very important to maintain
full contact with joint being HINGED® to maximize the therapeutic results.
JUMPING®- This technique is similar to DRUMMING®, except you will use the BuffEnuff'® edge rather than the flat contact. Technique can be used
anywhere but is most effective on tendon attachment points of muscles like the achilles tendon.
SPARKING®- Using a flat contact, hold buffer lightly and then vigorously move the buffer back and forth and in a circular motion like you’re rubbing out
a sore muscle in the body or applying lotion to the skin. The patient will feel additional generated warmth from the application of SPARKING® applied
with the rotation of the pad head on the BuffEnuff®. This technique is great following SQUARING® for trigger point care.

2.5 Battery Operation
●Your new battery pack is not fully charged when received; therefore, charging is necessary prior to use.
●There are two conditions when battery packs will not accept a full charge: when it is a new battery pack, and when the battery pack is not used
for an extended period of time. These are normal conditions and do not indicate a problem. However, after approximately 4 charge and
discharge cycles, the battery will be able to accept a full charge.
●When not in use, the battery pack can be left on charge (indicated by the red light) without any adverse effect; the battery cannot be
“overcharged.” However, when the battery pack is not going to be used for an extended period of time, the charger should be unplugged from
the power source, and the battery pack disconnected from the charger.
●If you need to charge multiple battery packs with the same charger, leave 15 minutes of rest time between charges. This will result in the
charger lasting longer.
2.6 Charging the Battery
In order to use this device at full power, the lithium-ion battery must be periodically charged. Use the power supply provided to quickly recharge the

battery. Frequent use may require additional charged batteries for the user’s convenience.
1) The battery is located at the bottom of the handle.
2) To release the battery, squeeze the two grip tabs, located on either side of the battery, and gently pull battery away from the massager.
3) Plug the power supply cord into a wall outlet.
4) Insert the power supply cord adapter into the battery connection port located on the top of the battery near the connection stem.
5) When the battery is charging, a red light is displayed on the power supply.
6) Charging a dead battery requires approximately one hour of recharge time. Recharging times may vary.
7) When the lithium-ion battery is fully charged, the display will change to green.
8) When the battery is fully charged, disconnect from the power supply and insert battery into the power massager.
9) A fully charged battery will supply power to the massager for approximately 30-40 minutes of non-stop massaging. Times may vary depending
on application, loads applied to the massager, and frequency of use.
2.7 Crown
The cloth crown is the elastic fabric cap, which is centered around the foam disk on the massager. The crown is meant to separate the spinning foam
disk of the massager from contacting the skin of the user/receiver. The crown is plush and soft.
1) Lotion Application: The crown is safe to be in contact with the skin, and can even be used with oils, lotions and gels.
2) Sanitation: Because the crown is the only actual part, which is in contact with the skin of the user/receiver, it is important to wash the crown
periodically, as it will pick up dirt and oils. Crowns can be machine washed and dried. To prolong the lifespan of the crown, wash your crowns
in the sink with hot water and soap. Hang to dry. Crowns may also be sanitized periodically using fluorescent lighting certified as cleaning
agents to kill bacteria and other unsanitary material. This does not replace thorough cleaning in a washing machine or hand washing.
3) Extra Crowns: The crown is the only part of the BuffEnuff® that will need to be routinely replaced. Each crown will sustain many massage
sessions. Frequent users may want to purchase a package of crowns for convenience.
CAUTION
In rare cases, users have experienced skin irritation, possibly due to allergic reactions to the fabric of the crown. If this happens, try using the massager
over a layer of clothing, a sheet, or other fabric. Discontinue use completely if the problem persists.
2.8 CLEANING AND CARE
Massager
1) Periodically wipe down with a moist antimicrobial wipe.
2) Extra cleaning is necessary when used by sweaty people in the gym, and when using massage lotions and gels.
Crown
1) Because the crown is the only actual part, which is in contact with the skin of the user/receiver, it is important to wash the crown periodically,
as it will pick up dirt and oils.
2) Wash your crowns in the sink with hot water and soap. Hang to dry.
3) Use certified fluorescent lights that have their primary function as cleaning agents to periodically sanitize in between washings.
2.9 STORAGE
1) It is best to keep the massager, battery and power supply, crown, extra batteries, extra bonnets in your BuffEnuff® Carry Bag for
convenience.
2) The BuffEnuff® Power Massager is small, portable, lightweight, and made to be taken to the gym, locker room, in the car, to work, or easily
stored in a desk drawer.
