Safety regulations
General
The machine are determined for drilling and milling (routing) printed circuit board and for milling
(routing) and engraving aluminium plate . A pecial application i do ing of pa te or liquid onto
panel- hape work piece and the la er expo ure of photo re i t and older ma k. Any other type
of application i permi ive only with our con ent.
The machine are not determined to be connected or combined with other machine . However,
they need to be connected to and be controlled by a compatible computer. The driver oftware i
upplied with the machine and i relevant for ecurity.
The machine may only be operated by qualified operator . Children and animal mu t be kept
off!
The machine i manufactured u ing te ted component according to tandard guide line for elec-
trical afety. Thi doe not relieve the u er hi duty of care when dealing with electrically powered
device .
Before performing any maintenance witch off the machine and unplug it.
Emergency Stop Facilities
The ESCape button on the computer top the pindle and the tepper motor . The ame
function i performed by red X-icon on the computer creen. The main witch on the con-
trol unit or power upply unit cut the machine from main upply, but i not uitable for
emergency top: It doe not allow programmed pindle lift and quick top.
If the computer ha topped re ponding and thu the EMERGENCY STOP button doe not work,
you can top the machine u ing the main witch of the control unit. In thi ca e wait until the
pindle ha come to a tand till.
Protection against contact with moving parts
The machine may only be operated in an enclo ed protection cover. With door witche , o that
maintenance work can only be done with the machine at tand till.
Location
Put the machine onto a table, even table and adju t the machine' 4 feet by turning them. A
table de k and a proper etting are important to prevent vibration etc. Make ure you have
enough room around the machine for tool change, mounting PCB and maintenance work.
The machine may only be operated under normal temperature and humidity condition , e pecially
only in ab ence of corro ive or inflammable vapour . At temperature lower than 10 °C or higher
than 30 °C, there may occur the following problem : The pindle might not tart running at low
temperature . The tepping motor might run hot or tep lo e may occur at more than 30 °C in
the urrounding air.
In order to en ure a ufficient cooling, the equipment feet of the controller may not be removed,
otherwi e not enough air will pa through the controller – Overheating and de truction of the end
pha e may be the re ult.
The controller i de igned to run at normal ambient temperature (25°C) and hould be operated
in an open et up with dry, du t and aggre ive team free environment.
If the controller i u ed within a clo ed cabinet or room temperature higher than 25°C, you have
to upply additional mea ure for ventilation.
Increased dust load must be prevented by suitable measures.

peration in an aggressive, dusty, humid, extremely hot or hazardous environment is at the
user's own risk and responsibility.
The u er ha to care for appropriate precaution and protective device , Any liability for dam -
age ari ing in uch an environment by the operation, are hereby expre ly excluded.
Noise
With the HF- pindle running at full peed and the vacuum cleaner on, the noi e pre ure level at
1 m di tance i 86 dB(A). Operator have to wear ear protection.
Dust
It i nece ary that the tandard vacuum cleaner i alway being u ed during operation on printed
circuit board . The vacuum cleaner mu t be OFF during and after u e of alcohol or other inflam -
mable or explo ive liquid (i. e. u ed for cooling when milling aluminium). Individual operating con-
dition may require that an extraction unit with higher rating or the optional protective enclo ure be
in talled.
Protection against eye damage
The la er expo ure unit may only be u ed in connection with a CCD.
The la er can only be witched on, when it i correctly in talled into the
pindle holder of the CCD.
The la er it elf ha a power 120 mW and i cla ified a la er cla 3B.
The la er i et into the CCD in a way, which make it impo ible to look dir-
ectly into the la er light.
Note: the laser exposure unit may only be operated in a closed rack or hood.
Plea e ob erve the general rule for handling electronic part , e pecially
ESD-protection.
Before touching the la er head, perform a potential compen ation.
E.g put you both hand on an ESD- uitable upport before removing the la er
from the package.
You need to do the ame, before you rea emble the la er from the machine.
By bad condition like, PVC flooring and hoe with pla tic ole , high tatic
charge can occur.
The e could damage the la er head.
Power supply
The machine power upply ha a wide range AC input. You can run it on any common ingle
pha e main upply. If the power cord upplied with the machine i not uitable for your country,
plea e replace it. In thi ca e it i urgently required that you en ure correct grounding to PE.
Attention! You mu t di connect the machine from the main upply and wait until DC voltage
are low prior to opening the control unit or to pulling card off from it. We deny any liability if al -
teration to any mechanical, electric or electronic component of the machine are made. Prior to
any manipulation to the control unit, check that the machine ha been di connected from the
main upply.
Do not pull the cable while the machine i under power. Fir t witch off controller and wait for po-
tential equali ation.

At the power upply are two ocket , which are witched on and off together with the pindle mo-
tor. The e ocket can be u ed e.g. for the vacuum cleaner or a magnetic valve for cooling
device. Each ocket may not take more than 5 A (1150 W at 230 V AC).
For the connection of afety witche (e.g. hood witche ) a hielded cable hould be u ed, it
mu t be kept a hort a po ible. Thi cable - ju t like all remaining connection/feeder cable
between Controller and CCD - hould not be laid parallel to power cable in order to prevent in-
ductive or capacitive linking of high-energy tran ient and thu po ible over voltage damage in
the Controller.
Not avoidable cro ing with power cable mu t be right-angle implemented to keep couple- train
a hort a po ible.
If in the proximity of the machine high inductive load are operated like e.g. trong electric mo-
tor , exhau t fan , contactor etc., the employment of an opto coupler can be nece ary for the
connection of the hood contact/ afety witch.
All damage due to over voltage, overheating, humidity, du t, corro ion or inappropriate connec-
tion of external or electronic device are excluded of the guarantee. The e repair will be
charged.
Maintenance
It i important that you regularly remove all du t and having from the machine. To clean and lub-
ricate the teel haft , e pecially tho e below the aluminium extru ion on the X-axi , u e a cloth
and ome acid-free machine oil. On each end of the linear bearing hou ing , there are lubricating
felt tripe . Regularly apply ome oil to them. If the machine will not be u ed for a longer period or
prior to tran port, all teel haft hould be well lubricated.
The ball gear drive of the z-axi need to get cleaned from chip and du t regularly and grea ed
with a uitable grea e.
The drive belt mu t al o be kept clean from du t and having but mu t not not be lubricated.
The belt are ubject to wear. If they how damage like lateral fray-out or deformed teeth they
hould be replaced.
Tools
Only tool with ring (collar) hould be u ed. The di tance flange determine the pindle elevation
over the table. The di tance from the top edge of the ring to the tool tip i 21 mm. It i mounted to
the pindle at the factory in a way that a drill with ring i 0.5 mm over the machine table when the
Z axi i completely down. You hould not change thi etting. Otherwi e the mechanical po ition
of the Z axi will be different from the one a umed by the driver oftware. Damage to the ma-
chine table may then re ult.
Documentation
Our di tributor / re eller in your country i encouraged and in charge of tran lating the German
and / or Engli h manual coming with the machine into your native language. A declaration of EU

Short instruction/Set
You need:
•if po ible a econd per on to lift the machine off the rack
•a mall crew driver
•a multiple ocket
•a drill backing board
•adhe ive tape
•PCB material and
•tool (drill /router )
Examine the packaging for tran port damage.
Open the lid of the packaging and remove anchoring trap . The machine i in ide of a rack. If
the rack doe not fit through your door , the machine ha to taken from the rack with at lea t
two per on . Di mount the upper part of the rack and carry it vertical through the door. Mount
the rack and in ert machine again.
Carrying point of the machine are the aluminium profile near the feet. If needed move the y-
bar in the middle of the table to en ure even weight di tribution. Align the 4 levelling feet o that
the machine doe not wobble. Examine the machine for po ible tran port damage .
Manual test: With no cable connected, check whether all three axi move freely. Check if the
upplied pindle ea ily rotate .
Spindle Setup: With the Premium the pindle i already mounted in a way that a drill or a router
with correct length (21 mm from the tool tip to top of the ring; 38mm total length) can be lowered
to a maximum of 0.5 mm above the table. Thu touching the table with the tool i not po ible.

The Schuko- ocket of the power upply witch on,
when the pindle tart to turn. You may connect 5
A at max to each ocket!
For compre ed air upply you need a compre or with at
lea t 6 bar. Connect the compre or to the pre ure redu-
cer of the machine.
Compare the connection of the pindle with the picture above.

If you want to u e a la er expo ure unit in tead of a
pindle, you can remove the pindle by olving the two
fixing crew , then in ert the la er and park the
pindle momentarily on the left of the machine. Re-
move pre ure foot or depth limiter for la er expo ure.
Take care that the guiding no e of the la er unit i cor-
rectly mounted. Mounting of the di pen er (option)
work analogou ly.
At la t connect the cable of the USB-camera to your computer. U e
an active hub with power upply if nece ary.

RoutePro3000: Now in ert the enclo ed CD into
your computer drive and tart SetupRoute-
Pro3000.exe. Depending on the y tem the mod-
ule Windows Framework 4 and Visual C++
mu t be in talled on your y tem. In general thi
happen automatically. For thi an internet con-
nection i required. For the tart we can kip the
regi tration procedure by clicking continue
without registration. Plea e refer to the in talla-
tion guide and the RoutePro3000 online help for
detail .
After ucce ful in tallation your creen
hould look like thi :
Plea e check the etting of the machine
by clicking on the ptions tab and then on
machine. You will ee a picture of a
CCD. If you hover the mou e over the dif-
ferent functional area of the machine, you
will notice a colour change. Click on the
area to open the function dialogue. If you
drive over the table, you can acce the
table etting for example.
In each function dialogue there i a mall tooth
wheel. Click on thi tooth wheel and you can either
load a different machine configuration (be careful!
Your machine only work correctly with the corre -
ponding machine configuration!) or acce the ad-
vanced feature , uch a correction factor .

tool tip i 21 mm. Furthermore, a
te t tool mu t be in the pindle
and the tool lot 0 mu t be empty.
Check the correct fitting of the
tool in the lot . Since there are
tolerance in the ring diameter ,
it can be nece ary to adju t the
lot . You can ea ily widen them
with a crewdriver and tighten
them by pre ing from out ide
again t the lamellae.

the te t tool and place it in lot number 0. Then the pindle move back to the en or to check

whether the tool wa correctly dropped. After that it continue to lot number 1 to load the fir t tool.
The length of tool 1 i checked at the en or, the pindle tart and a po itioning and drilling move-
ment i performed. After that the machine check if the tool i not broken and et the tool again in
lot 1. Thi cycle i repeated until all 29 tool are checked. Plea e be prepared to either pre the
ESCAPE key ( = emergency top ) on your keyboard or click on the red X in the top left in the Route-
Pro3000 window to directly top the machine in ca e the tool were not picked properly or a colli ion
i about to happen. Thi may happen in ca e of a tran port damage or if you drive the machine with
incorrect parameter .
After the la t tool, the pindle pick again the te t tool and move to the machine zero point.
Make a fir t drill and routing attempt!
To do o load the project file
ccd_PCB_quick tart.xml. You will find thi
file on your C-drive at: C:\Program File
(x86)\RoutePro3000\Project . Thi i a
ingle ided board with 3 different drill , a
imple i olation and a cut-out-routing.
Fix a tandard drill backing board u ing the provided
clamp on the machine table. Now fix a PCB with at
lea t 160 x 100 mm dimen ion about 5 mm off the
machine zero point (in thi project the off et for X
and Y i et to 10 mm, we recommend fir t to u e
thi etting when you create a new project. Alway
compare the thickne of your backing board and
your PCB with the value hown in the oftware !!!l!)

….... and click Start. The machine will perform a reference
run. With an ATC machine the oftware will a k for te t tool
in the pindle and whether the tool are correctly po itioned
in the ATC bar. Again take care that lot 0 i free!
With a manual machine, you are a ked to in ert the current
tool into the pindle.
After clicking K, the drilling begin . Thi i fully automatic with an ATC. For manual machine ,
the fir t tool i proce ed, then the machine move up into the Z limit witch and you will be
prompted to in ert the next tool.

We generally recommend to u e a depth limiter for
i olation milling to compen ate the tolerance of
table, backing board and PCB.
To do o, loo en the thumb crew on the right of
the pindle. Thi will decouple the pindle from the
z-axi , o the depth limiter i able to float over the
pcb urface (compare picture ).
The drill pre ure foot can be taken off by remov-
ing 3 fixing crew (2.5mm Allen key) and re-
placed by the depth limiter
We recommend to manually change the tool
when u ing the depth limiter.
The depth limiter a well a the drill pre ure foot are
mounted from below with 3 crew at the du t extraction
unit. To change the tool you need to remove the black
gliding part.
The height i et with a fine tread crew having 500 µm
lope per turn. The fine thread crew i fixed with a
counter nut.
To adju t the depth, fir t roughly adju t the milling depth
optically. Then elect with mou e election an uncritical
milling track (e.g. an outer contour line) and make a
te t. If the milled track i too deep, lift the tool by turning
the depth limiter clockwi e. If the milled track i not
deep enough turn in the other direction.
Your machine i now et up, controlled and you have
already proce ed two project with your machine. Thi

truction below and the RoutePro3000 help file .

Installation Manual RoutePro3000
System requirements:
CCD with Controller 2006 or younger.
Computer with Window XP SP3 till Window 8 64 bit. 1,3 GHz
Proce or, 2 GB main memory and 200 MB free di c pace.
Internet connection during etup and regi tration. The internet
connection i nece ary to in tall update like Vi ual C++ and
Framework 4. In addition you can regi ter your RoutePro3000-
ver ion and, if there, activate licen e for pecial module (la er,
di pen e, calibrate etc.).
After in tallation you can of cour e work offline.
Content:
New machines: all nece ary file including the pecific para-
meter for your machine are packed into the file “SetupRoute-
Pro3000.exe”, which i located on the delivered CD. The folder
document , licen e and project are tored additionally on the
CD, o you have acce to help file and licen e prior to in talla-
tion.
Existing machines with RoutePro2008: You can download the
current Routepro3000 ver ion with all nece ary file including
our tandard parameter for machine and tool from the cu tomer
area of our homepage. Plea e regi ter on our homepage with
your cu tomer ID. If you are not a direct cu tomer, plea e regi ter
with the name of your dealer and the cu tomer number you have
with him). After in tallation you have to adapt the parameter for your machine from Route-
Pro2008 into RoutePro3000 (correction factor , table ize, value for en or and tool lot ). If you
want to read the help file prior to in tallation, you can download the help file from our homepage.
Existing machines with RoutePro3000: We created a
eparate file “UpdateRoutePro3000.exe”. Thi file doe
not contain the re ource data and thu your already ex-
i ting parameter for machine and tool will not be over-
written. Thi Update ver ion can al o be downloaded
from our homepage.
Make ure your re ource data are in the correct loca-
tion.

Procedure:
Read the manual of RoutePro3000. Connect CCD to your computer. Then in tall RoutePro3000:
Double-click on “SetupRoutePro3000.exe” and follow the routine. Depending on your y tem Mi-
cro oft Framework 4 and Micro oft Vi ual C++ will be in talled automatically. If you do not have
the late t firmware on your CCD controller, then your controller will be fla hed automatically. A re-
tart of RoutePro3000 may be required in thi ca e.
If you u e pecial module like la er, calibration or di pen ing, then plea e read the pecial in-
truction for the e module coming with the hardware and refer to the applying help topic in the
RoutePro manual/help y tem.

The tandard RoutePro3000 i for free, but after a trial time of 14 day , you need to fill out a re-
gi ter form. The regi tration proce i de cribed in the help file. Plea e note: from 2014 on you
do not need to apply for a licen e anymore. After filling out the regi tration form you can directly
work. With internet connection and without. In addition you have the chance to create error re-
port , which help u to help you either to directly olve your problem or to get information where a
bug fix may be required.
After ucce ful regi tration you can te t all available module for a trial period of 14 day .
To te t the module , plea e go to options and wait till your de ired module how up at the field
available modules. Click on your de ired module. After that you can activate your te t licen e. It
may be nece ary to re tart RoutePro3000.
After 14 day a licen e ha to be acquired. Plea e note that pecial hardware need to be ob-
tained for the module (la er head, camera, etc.). To apply for a licen e, you need to have a Com-
puter with internet connection. If you do not have an internet connection, plea e contact u to ap-
ply for an offline licen e. We will how you how it i done.
If you have a new machine the CD coming with the
machine i already adapted to your pecific machine.
No further action beyond regi tration and activating li-
cen e need to be done. Still we recommend to com-
pare the machine parameter at options – machine
with the PDF print out coming with the machine.
If you update from RoutePro2008 to Route Pro3000,
you need to e tabli h the correct parameter for your
machine. Proce like thi : Start RoutePro3000 and go
to option and machine. Hoover over the CCD-picture
and in ert correct parameter for XYZ-motor , pindle,
tool lot , en or and table. You can copy the value
from your RoutePro.ini-file of your older Software
RoutePro2008. Alternatively you can print creen hot
from your RoutePro2008 oftware and copy the value
from the creen hot .
Note: there i one exception concerning the Z-po ition
of the tool lot . In RoutePro2008 the z-po ition of the tool lot wa 0.5 – 1 mm le than z-max.
E.g. if z-max wa 37.65, then z-po ition of the tool lot wa approx. 37.00mm. In RoutePro3000
the table i the 0-Po ition of the z-axi and you almo t put the tool to 0. So now you have to in ert
0.5 – 1.0 mm in the ATC-tool po ition table.

Detailed Instructions
Control unit and mechanics
Power supply
The machine power upply ha a wide range AC input. You can run it on any common ingle pha e
main upply. If the power cord upplied with the machine i not uitable for your country, plea e re-
place it. In thi ca e it i urgently required that you en ure correct grounding to PE.
Attention! You mu t di connect the machine from
the main upply and wait until DC voltage are low
prior to opening the control unit or to pulling card
off from it. We deny any liability if alteration to any
mechanical, electric or electronic component of
the machine are made. Prior to any manipulation to
the control unit, check that the machine ha been
di connected from the main upply. In ide of the
controller box are no part which hall be et by the
end u er. Potentiometer are factory et and may
not be changed. Do not pull any plug while the
machine i under current. Fir t witch off machine
and wait for equipotential.
Mechanics Unit
Set up
Put the machine onto a table, even table and ad-
ju t the machine' 4 feet by turning them. A table
de k and a proper etting are important to prevent
vibration etc.
(ATC) Compressed air connection
The machine require compre ed air of at lea t 6 bar to open and clo e the pindle chuck and to up -
ply the pindle with ealing air. The continuou air flow prevent du t from entering the pindle and o
enhance the lifetime of the pindle. A compre or i not included with the machine, but an air ho e i .
On the right i the air valve with a pre ure reducer. Connect the air ho e´ free end to that valve. The
other end of the ho e ha a tandard connector for compre ed air outlet .
Vacuum cleaner
At the power upply there are two o called
Schuko- ocket . In ert into the e ocket device
that hall turn on together with the pindle, e.g. the
vacuum cleaner or a magnetic valve for the cooling
device. Plea e note, that the maximum power
taken from the e ocket may not exceed 6 A!
The machine wa delivered with a mall vacuum
cleaner. After electrical connection you can place
the cleaner behind or under the machine and con-
nect the vacuum tube with the adaptor of the uc-
tion pipe of the machine.

Mounting the spindle
The machine i normally
upplied with mounted
pindle. If not, follow the
following tep :
Open with an Allen key
the two mounting crew .
In ert the pindle from
the top until it re t on the
pindle holder. Rotate the
pindle o that the
junction box doe not interfere with moving part of the Z-
axi and tighten the fixing crew again. Connect the cable
to the 3-pin connector to the ocket on top of the controller
bar.
Connect the pre ure ho e to open the pindle and
pre ure ho e for ealing air a hown in the picture. Make
ure that there alway i a te tpin or a drill in the pindle.
Otherwi e, the chuck may be damaged.
Important: Plea e only u e tool with ring . The di tance
from the upper edge of the ring to the tip of the tool i 21
mm. The di tance between the drill tip and the table top i
already calibrated to approximately 0.5 mm. In the
oftware, the di tance can be changed, but plea e: do not
change the value if not ab olutely needed. If you do
change the value, plea e be very careful, becau e
otherwi e the mechanical po ition of the Z-axi no longer
matche with the po ition adopted by the program. Thi
could cau e damage to the machine table.

spindle accessories
In the packaging of the pindle you will find a pre ure
foot and a depth limiter, and cleaning uten il and the
pindle guide.
pressure foot
Thi part erve to pre down the board before the drill
hit them. Thi i particularly u eful if the board i not
completely flat or when you drill more than one board
(you can drill 3 board each with 1.6 mm thickne in the
tack). In addition, thi pre ure hoe erve a
protection for your finger again t the rotating tool. The
pre ure foot can remain mounted when changing tool .
It i fa tened with three crew on the uction head. In
the future there will be a quick-change ver ion with a
magnetic mount to enable a fa t change between the
depth limiter and the pre ure foot. A hort exchange

depth limiter (FTB)
During the milling procedure the depth limiter (FTB)
glide over the urface of the pcb en uring perfect
equality of the routing depth even with uneven urface .
The limiter i de igned for u e with our delivered router ,
e pecially for the G30 and G60 V-Cut-Router .
The milling depth i not compatible with the cooling
device for routing aluminium.
In the following, we fir t a ume that the Z-axi lifted, a
after a reference drive. Leave the pindle in the holder
and in ert a tool.
Screw the depth limiter (FTB) to the uction. Be careful
not to touch the tool
The FTB ha a fine thread and a lock nut. Solve the
latter and un crew the lower part of the FTB up or down
to adju t the height. Fa ten the lock nut to lock the
height adju tment. The conical part of the FTB can
the board urface. We recommend to manually change
tool when u ing the depth limiter.
The FTB i not required for drilling and cut-out-routing
(countour routing) and hould thereby be removed. For
thi you do not need to change the etting. Simply
loo en the 3 mounting crew again.
On the Fig. On the upper right you can be ee next to
the pindle the ball crew of the Z-axi . The guiding rail
of the ball crew i coupled via a mall aluminium bar to
the pindle upport. If you loo en the thumb crew and
lide the aluminium bar to the right, you can move the
