2.1Authorised personnel
All operations described in this operating instructions manual
must be carried out only by trained specialist personnel
authorised by the operator.For safety and warranty reasons,
any internal work on the instruments must be carried out only
by personnel authorised by the manufacturer.

Oscillator SW 60 is a replacement insert for LEVEL SWITCH
8111 and 8112 vibrating level switches.

3.1Configuration
The scope of delivery encompasses:

3.2Principle of operation
Oscillator SW60 is suitable for replacement of LEVEL
SWITCH 8111 and 8112 vibrating level switches.
3.3Storage and transport
Your instrument was protected by packaging during transport.
Its capacity to handle normal loads during transport is assured
by a test according to DIN EN 24180.
The packaging of standard instruments consists of environ-
ment-friendly,recyclable cardboard.For special versions PE
foam or PE foil is also used.Dispose of the packaging material
via specialised recycling companies.

4Mounting
4.1Mounting instructions
If the electronics module is defective,it can be replaced by the
user.
InEx applications,only an instrument and an electronics
module with appropriate Ex approval may be used.
4.2Mounting preparations
In general,all oscillators of series SW60 can be interchanged.
If you want to use an oscillator with a different signal output,
you can download the corresponding operating instructions
manual from our homepage under Downloads.
4.3Mounting steps
Proceed as follows to exchange the electronics module:
1Switch offpower supply
2Unscrew the housing cover
3Lift the opening levers of the terminals with a screwdriver
4Pull the connection cables out of the terminals
5Loosen the two screws with a screw driver (Torx size T10
or slot 4)

7Compare the new oscillator with the old one.The type label
of the oscillator must correspond to that of the old
oscillator.This applies particularly to instruments used in
hazardous areas.
8Compare the settings of the two oscillators.Set the
adjustment elements of the new oscillator to the settings of
the old oscillator.
Information:
Make sure that the housing is not rotated during the electronics
exchange.Otherwise the plug may be in a different position
later.
9Insert the oscillator carefully.Make sure that the plug is in
the correct position.
10 Insert the two hold screws and tighten them
11 Insert the wire ends into the open terminals according to
the wiring plan
12 Press the opening lever of the terminals downward,you will
hear the terminal spring closing
13 Check the hold of the wires in the terminals by lightly
pulling on them
14 Check the tightness of the cable entry.The seal ring must
completely encircle the cable.
15 Screw the housing cover back on
The electronics exchange is hence terminated.
As a rule,the exchange of the electronics must be
documented internally when used in Ex applications.

5Setup
5.1Setup
When replacing the oscillator,make sure that all adjustment
elements are set to the settings of the old oscillator.Hence the
sensor is immediately ready for operation.
In general,all oscillators of series SW60 can be interchanged.
If you want to use an oscillator with a completely different
signal output,you have to carry out the complete setup.
The necessary,suitable operating instructions manual can be
downloaded from our homepage under Downloads.
The adjustment should be carried out acc.to the description in
the operating instructions manual.

6Maintenance
6.1Instrument repair
If a repair is necessary,please proceed as follows:

lClean the instrument and pack it damage-proof
lAttach the completed form and possibly also a safety data
sheet to the instrument

7Dismounting
7.1Dismounting procedure
Take note of chapters "Mounting"and "Connecting to power
supply"and carry out the listed steps in reverse order.
7.2Disposal
The replacement component consists of materials which can
recycled by specialised recycling companies.We have
purposely designed the electronic modules to be easily
separable.
WEEE directive 2002/96/EG
This replacement component is not subject to the WEEE
directive 2002/96/EG and the respective national laws (in
Germany,e.g.ElektroG). Pass the replacement component
directly on to a specialised recycling company and do not use
the municipal collecting points.They may only be used for
privately used products acc.to the WEEE directive.
Correct disposal avoids negative effects to persons and
environment and ensures recycling of useful raw materials.

3Description de l'appareil
3.1Présentation

3.2Procédé de fonctionnement
Le préamplificateur SW 60 est conçu pour le remplacement
des préamplis des détecteurs vibrants de type LEVEL
SWITCH 8111 et 8112.
3.3Stockage et transport
Durant le transport jusqu'à son lieu d'application,votre appareil
a été protégé par un emballage résistant aux contraintes de
transport usuelles.La résistance de cet emballage a fait l'objet
d'un test selon DIN EN 24180.
Pour les appareils standards,cet emballage est en carton non
polluant et recyclable.Pour les versions spéciales,on utilise
en plus de la mouse ou des feuilles de polyéthylène.Faites en
sorte que cet emballage soit recyclé par une entreprise
spécialisée de récupération et de recyclage.

4Montage
4.1Consignes de montage
En cas de défaut,le préamplificateur peut être remplacé par
l'utilisateur.
Les applications Ex nécessitent l'utilisation d'un appareil et
d'un préamplificateur avec agrément Ex adéquat.
4.2Préparations au montage
De façon générale,les préamplificateurs de la série SW60
sont interchangeables.Si vous désirez utiliser un préam-
plificateur avec une autre sortie signal,vous pouvez téléchar-
ger la notice de mise en service respective sur notre page
d'accueil sur internet.
4.3Etapes de montage
Pour changer le préamplificateur,procédez comme suit :
1Coupez la tension d'alimentation.
2Dévissez le couvercle du boîtier.
3Soulevez les leviers d'ouverture des bornes à l'aide d'un
tournevis.
4Retirez les lignes de raccordement des bornes.
5Desserrez les deux vis de fixation à l'aide d'un tournevis
(Torx de T10 ou à fente 4)

6Retirez l'ancien préamplificateur.
7Comparez le nouveau préampli avec l'ancien.L'étiquette
signalétique sur le préampli doit correspondre à celle de
l'ancien.Ceci est valable en particulier pour les appareils
en atmosphères explosibles.
8Comparez les réglages de deux préamplificateurs.Mettez
les éléments de réglage du nouveau préampli sur les
mêmes positions qu'avait l'ancien.
Information:
Veillez en changeant le préampli à ce que le boîtier ne se
tourne pas.Sinon,le connecteur pourrait se trouver dans une
autre position.
9Insérez le préampli avec précaution.Veillez à ce que le
connecteur soit dans sa position correcte.
10 Revissez les deux vis de fixation et serrez-les bien
11 Insérez les fins de conducteurs dans les bornes ouvertes
selon le schéma de raccordement
12 Rabaissez les leviers des bornes,le ressort des bornes est
bien audible au rabattement du levier.
13 Vérifiez la bonne fixation des fins de conducteurs dans les
bornes en tirant légèrement dessus
14 Vérifiez l'étanchéité du presse-étoupe.Le joint doit
entourer complètement le c ble.
15 Revissez le couvercle du boîtier.
Vous avez terminé le changement de l'électronique.
Pour les applications Ex,le changement du préamplificateur
doit être documenté dans un protocole interne à l'entreprise.

5Mise en service
5.1Mise en service
Après le changement de l'électronique,n'oubliez pas de
remettre tous les éléments de réglage du nouveau préampli
sur les mêmes positions qu'avait l'ancien.Le capteur est alors
immédiatement prêt à fonctionner.
De façon générale,tous les préamplificateurs de la série
SW60 sont interchangeables.
Si vous désirez utiliser un préamplificateur avec une autre
sortie signal,il faudra refaire une mise en service complète de
l'appareil.
Dans ce cas,il vous faudra la mise en service adéquate qu'il
vous suffira de télécharger sur notre site Internet sous
Downloads.
Faites le réglage comme indiqué sur la notice de mise en
service.
