1Foreword
Dear Customer,
BURMEIER would like to thank you for the confidence you have placed in us and our
products in deciding to purchase this bed and side table.
Each appliance has been tested by the manufacturer for safety and functionality
and has left our factory in perfect condition.
This instruction manual informs you as the operator and your users about all the
functions necessary to ensure ease of operation and safe handling of this product on
a daily basis.
This instruction manual should therefore also be regarded as a practical reference
book to be kept near the bed and side table and to hand at all times.
We wish you and your users every success in using this item and are confident that
this product enables us to make an important contribution to achieving that.

2Safety Instructions
Before using the appliance for the first time:
Read this instruction manual from start to finish to prevent any injury or damage
resulting from incorrect operation.
Clean and disinfect the bed and side table before initial use and before each re-
use.
Instruct the user in the safe operation of the bed and side table.
Each time before using a bed and side table, check that it is functional and that the
bed and side table and the accessories are in perfect working order.
The maximum total load of the table is: 8 kg
The maximum central load of each table top is 8 kg. Do not lean on the table!
Always put the brake on the castors.
3Use
3.1 USE FOR THE INTENDED PURPOSE
•The bed and side table was developed as a supporting solution for home care,
for infirm, bedridden, disabled or frail persons. It it designed to support this care. It
is used for storage and for helping with food intake.
•The bed and side table can be positioned on the floor, independent of the care
bed. As the table top is height-adjustable, it can also be used above the mattress
base of the care bed.
•The bed and table top can be used independently of those requiring care.
•This bed and side table may only be operated by persons who have received
instruction in its safe operation.
•This bed and side table is suitable for repeated use. When re-using, pay attention
to the necessary requirements:

3.2 ASSEMBLY:
1. Screw the upright column with
two wing nuts (1) onto the chassis.
The column must be positioned as
seen in the photo – risk of tipping!
2. Place the table top in the desired
position and screw tight using the
wing screw (2).
3. Adjust the height by loosening the
wing screw (3) and then fixing into
position.
4. Castor brake: foot pedal (4)
down.

chassis using a wing nut (5).
•Ensure that all wing nuts are
tightened properly!

•Perform function test after
installation!
•The table top can be pulled out to a maximum height of 111
cm. If
raised any higher, there is a risk that the retractable tube is pulled out
of the guide tube. There is a risk of tipping the table top

3.3 FUNCTIONS:

4Care Instructions
Cleaning is the most important measure and requirement for a successful chemical
disinfection. If used by the same patient, routine cleaning is generally sufficient in
terms of hygiene. Disinfection of the bed and side table is only necessary when it has
been visibly contaminated with infectious or potentially infectious materials.
Pay attention to the following recommendations to ensure that the bed and side
table functions and usability are preserved as long as possible:
•The surfaces must be undamaged, any damage must be repaired immediately.
•We recommend (damp) wipe cleaning. When selecting cleaning agents, ensure
that the ones chosen are mild (gentle to skin and surfaces) and environmentally
friendly. A standard household cleaner can generally be used.
•The used materials are resistant to tested and approved disinfectants.
•For cleaning and care of the bed and side table, use a damp cloth with standard,
mild household cleaner suitable for cleaning.
•The used materials are resistant to tested and approved disinfectants. For
disinfection by wiping, the disinfectant agent used should be an appropriate and
approved DGHM-listed disinfectant (in the recommended concentration). Agents
and concentrations indicated in the list of the Robert Koch Institute (or the former
Federal Health Office), may only be used in the event of an outbreak in
accordance with the German Protection against Infection Act only by order of
the responsible health authority.

•The table top of the bed and side table is made from high-quality ABS plastic. In
the case of ABS plastics, colour changes to the surface may occur in conjunction
with slightly oily liquids (depending on the pH value). This can result in unsightly
discolourations and anomalies appearing on the surface. However, this does not
affect the strength of the plastic material.
•Liquids that can cause such discolourations and are most commonly encountered
are coffee, tea or even Kodan Forte (coloured), for example.
•For this reason, please observe the care instructions for ABS plastics:
•Do not allow coffee, tea and Kordan Forte stains to dry. Wipe up as soon as
possible with a commercially available cleaning agent.
Do not use scouring agents, stainless steel cleaning agents, abrasive
cleaning agents or scouring pads. These substances can damage the
surfaces.
5Replacement parts
The relevant replacement parts are available from BURMEIER upon specifying the
item number and serial number. The necessary details are found on the type plate
located on the lifting column.
In order to maintain operational reliability and the right to claim under warranty, only
original BURMEIER replacement parts may be used!

7Disposal Instructions
All packaging materials are be disposed of properly (German Green Dot System).

separated and disposed of properly.
