1. Insert the plug of the connecting conductor from the signal source into the connecting socket.

– Low-voltage and 230 V cables must not be installed together in a flush-mounted socket!

5.1 Requirements for the electrician

Warning

Electric voltage!

Install the device only if you have the necessary electrical engineering knowledge and experience.

•Incorrect installation endangers your life and that of the user of the electrical system.

•Incorrect installation can cause serious damage to property, e.g. due to fire.

The minimum necessary expert knowledge and requirements for the installation are as follows:

•Apply the "five safety rules" (DIN VDE 0105, EN 50110):

1. Disconnect from power;

2. Secure against being re-connected;

3. Ensure there is no voltage;

4. Connect to earth;

5. Cover or barricade adjacent live parts.

•Use suitable personal protective clothing.

•Use only suitable tools and measuring devices.

•Check the type supply network (TN system, IT system, TT system) to secure the following

power supply conditions (classic connection to ground, protective earthing, necessary

additional measures, etc.).

The device may only be installed in suitable flush-mounted sockets (DIN 49073-1) or a suitable surface-mounted

housing.

1. Remove approximately 100 mm of insulation from the cable (see diagonal of the packaging).

2. Push the braid screen back and shorten it by approximately 10 mm.

3. Feed the cable into the housing at the top or the bottom (in the photo at the bottom).

4. Bend the cable to a quarter circle and feed it in as far as possible.

5. If necessary, adjust the feed-in position (± 30°).

6. Fasten the screw.

7. Pre-sort the twisted pairs.

–Ensure that you adhere to the hints on the securing webs, which are normally legible (Pos. 2).

8. The upper twisted pairs (Pos. 3) belong to the left socket. The twisted pairs on the left (Pos. 4) belong to the

right socket.

9. Position the connection assembly.

10. Feed the twisted pairs with screen laterally through the assembly.

–The sockets must always point down.

11.Press the assembly together.

–Maintain the pairs screen and the twist of the pairs as long as possible.

–Adhere to the assignment according to the colour code in the patch bay and on the socket (see chapter

"Colour code").

12. Install the wires from the centre to the outside.

13. Position the cover on the housing.

14. Latch the cover to the bottom part.

15. Plug a 6.3 mm flat plug connector onto the rear of the earth connection contact (Pos. 5).

16. Break off the fixing points that are not required with a suitable tool.

The cable is now installed.
