how to care for this instrument. Read the instructions carefully before using your binocular.
EYE ADJUSTMENTS
How to Adjust for Distance Between Your Eyes
e distance between the eyes, called “interpupillary distance,” or “IPD”, varies from person to person. To achieve
perfect alignment of lens to eyes, follow these simple steps.
1. Hold your binocular in the normal
viewing position.
2. Grasp each barrel firmly. Move the
barrels closer together or further apart (Fig. 1)
until you see a single circular field.
Always re-set your binocular to this
position before using it.
How to Adjust for Individual Eye Strength
As individual eyesight varies from one person to another, your Bushnell Infinity binocular has a diopter setting feature
which allows you to fine-tune the binocular to your vision. Follow the focusing instructions on the next page.

FOCUSING
1. Adjust the interpupillary distance (Fig. 1) until you see a single circular image.
2. Keep both eyes open at all times.
3. Using the attached lens cap or your hand, cover the objective (front) lens on the right side of the binocular as
you look into the eyepieces.
4. Rotate the center focus knob, focusing on a distant object with fine detail (e.g., brick wall, tree branches, etc)
until it appears as sharp as possible on the left side.
5. Uncover the objective lens on the right side, and cover the left objective lens while continuing to view the same
object.
6. Pull up the center focus knob to unlock the diopter adjustment (Fig. 2) and bring the object into equally sharp
focus in the right side of the binocular. e diopter adjustment provides fine focus for the right eyepiece only.
7. Avoid over-turning or forcing the diopter mechanism. If you are unable to bring the object into focus in the
right side by adjusting the diopter ring, make sure the left side is still focused (return to step 3 if necessary).
8. Once the diopter adjustment is set for your eyesight, push the focus knob back down to lock it in place .
9. Your binocular should now be adjusted for your eyes. Focusing for any distance can now be done simply by
turning the center focus knob.

EYECUP ADJUSTMENT: (Fig. 3 and 4)
Your Bushnell Infinity binocular is fitted with twist-up eyecups designed for your comfort and to exclude
extraneous light. For users without eyeglasses, twist the eyecups up, rotating the eyecups counter- clockwise until
they lock into the fully “up” position (fig. 3). If you wear glasses, make sure the eyecups are in the down position-
this will bring your eyes closer to the binocular lens, allowing you to see the full field of view. To lower the
eyecups from the full “up” position, rotate them clockwise while pushing down (fig. 4). e eyecups may also be
left at positions “in between” fully up and fully down, which may suit some individuals better.

NECKSTRAP ATTACHMENT : (Fig. 5 and 6)
To attach the short strap adapter, first align the strap with the plastic post positioned as shown in Fig. 5. Push the post
straight down onto the release button (white arrow), then slide it up towards the eyepiece (black arrow) as shown in Fig.
5, until it clicks into place. Make sure the release button pops back up. e long neckstrap may be looped through
the lugs on the short straps either before or after this procedure. To remove the strap, press the release button, and slide
the post back out of the socket (Fig. 6).
TRIPOD SOCKET : (Fig. 7)
To attach the Infinity to a tripod or monopod, unscrew (counter-clockwise) the “B” logo cap which covers the threaded
socket inside the center hinge, and set it aside in a safe place. Use a compatible binocular tripod adapter, such as the
Bushnell model #161001, (an “L” shaped device which goes between the binocular and tripod) to attach it to any
standard tripod in a horizontal position to provide a stable image during prolonged viewing.

Your Bushnell Infinity binocular has been designed and built utilizing the latest waterproof and fogproof technology.
Infinity binoculars are O-ring sealed for complete moisture protection. Fogproof protection is achieved from dry
nitrogen purging that removes all internal moisture.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CARE
Your Bushnell Infinity binocular will provide years of trouble-free service if it receives the normal care you would give
any fine optical instrument.
1. Avoid sharp impacts. Set the binocular down gently on hard surfaces.
2. Tug on the strap after attaching it to make sure it is securely fastened to the binocular before placing it around
your neck.
3. Store your binocular in a cool, dry place whenever possible.
CLEANING
1. Blow away any dust or debris on the lens (or use a soft lens brush).
2. To remove dirt or finger prints, clean with a soft cotton cloth rubbing in a circular motion. Use of a coarse
cloth or unnecessary rubbing may scratch the lens surface and eventually cause permanent damage. e
included, washable“microfiber”cleaning cloth is ideal for the routine cleaning of your optics. Simply breathe
lightly on the lens to provide a slight amount of moisture, then gently rub the lens with the microfiber cloth.
3. For a more thorough cleaning, photographic lens tissue and photographic-type lens cleaning fluid or isopropyl
alcohol may be used. Always apply the fluid to the cleaning cloth – never directly on the lens.

Merci d’avoir acheté ces nouvelles jumelles Bushnell Infinity™. Cet instrument de précision combine les meilleurs des
matériaux optiques, du savoir faire et de la technologie. En plus du traitement de lentille hydrophobe Rainguard®,
une exclusivité Bushnell, les nouvelles jumelles Infinity bénéficient de la technologie SHR. Il s’agit d’un traitement
des prismes à facteur de réfrexion très élevé qui améliore l’efficacité de la transmission lumineuse. Le châssis Infinity
est en matériaux composites polycarbonates renforcés pour limiter le poids sans compromettre la solidité. Par ailleurs,
le revêtement caoutchouc extérieur intégral renforce également la durabilité des jumelles Infinity.
Ce manuel explique comment régler les jumelles en fonction des yeux et comment assurer leur entretien, afin d’obtenir
des résultats optimum. Lire ces instructions avec attention avant d’utiliser les jumelles.
RÉGLAGES EN FONCTION DES YEUX
Réglage de la distance entre les yeux
La distance entre les yeux, appelée « distance interpupillaire », ou « DIP », varie d’une personne à l’autre. Pour aligner
parfaitement la lentille sur l’œil, effectuer ce qui suit.
1. Tenir les jumelles en position d’observation normale.
2. Saisir fermement chaque fût. Rapprocher ou écarter
les fûts l’un de l’autre (Fig. 1) jusqu’à ne plus voir qu’un
champ circulaire unique. Veiller à toujours remettre les
jumelles dans cette position avant de les utiliser.
Réglage en fonction de l’acuité visuelle
Comme l’acuité visuelle varie d’une personne à l’autre, les jumelles Bushnell Infinity comportent une fonction de
réglage dioptrique permettant un ajustement fin des jumelles à la vue de chacun. Suivre les instructions de mise au
point à la page suivante.

MISE AU POINT
1. Régler la distance interpupillaire (Fig. 1) jusqu’à ne plus voir qu’une image circulaire unique.
2. Garder les deux yeux ouverts en permanence.
3. À l’aide du capuchon de lentille ou de la main, couvrir la lentille d’objectif (avant) du côté droit des jumelles tout
en observant à travers les oculaires.
4. Tourner la molette centrale pour mettre au point sur un objet éloigné (mur en briques, branche d’arbre, par ex.) de
manière à ce qu’il soit le plus net possible du côté gauche.
5. Découvrir la lentille d’objectif droite et couvrir la lentille d’objectif gauche tout en continuant à observer le même
objet.
6. Tirer la molette de mise au point vers le haut pour débloquer le réglage dioptrique (Fig. 2) et mettre au point
jusqu’à obtenir la même netteté du côté droit des jumelles. Le réglage dioptrique assure la mise au point fine de
l’oculaire droit uniquement.
7. Éviter de tourner excessivement ou de forcer sur le mécanisme dioptrique. Si le réglage dioptrique ne permet pas
la mise au point du côté droit, vérifier que la mise au point est toujours correcte à gauche (le cas échéant, répéter
l’étape 3).
8. Une fois réglage dioptrique ajusté à la vue, repousser la molette de mise au point vers l’arrière pour la verrouiller
en place.
9. Les jumelles sont à présent réglées en fonction des yeux. Pour mettre au point sur une quelconque distance, il suffit
maintenant de tourner la molette de mise au point centrale.

RÉGLAGE DES ŒILLETONS : (Fig. 3 et 4)
Les jumelles Bushnell Infinity comportent des œilletons pivotants conçus pour offrir un grand confort et exclure
la lumière indésirable. Pour les observateurs ne portant pas de lunettes, tourner les œilletons vers le haut, dans
le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre, jusqu’à les enclencher en position « haute » (Fig. 3). Avec des lunettes,
s’assurer que les œilletons sont en position basse, ce qui rapproche les yeux des oculaires et permet de voir le champ
de vision en entier. Pour abaisser les œilletons depuis la position « haute », les tourner dans le sens des aiguilles
d’une montre tout en poussant vers le bas (Fig. 4). Les œilletons peuvent également être laissés en position «
intermédiaire » entre haut et bas, qui convient mieux à certaines personnes.

FIXATION DE LA COURROIE : (Fig. 5 et 6)
Pour fixer l’adaptateur de courroie court, aligner d’abord la courroie avec le tenon en plastique placé comme indiqué
sur la Fig. 5. Enfoncer le tenon dans le bouton de blocage (flèche blanche), puis le glisser en direction de l’oculaire
(flèche noire) comme indiqué sur la Fig. 5, jusqu’au déclic. S’assurer que le bouton de blocage revient en position haute.
La courroie longue peut être passée à travers les attaches des courroies courtes, soit avant soit après cette étape. Pour
détacher la courroie, appuyer sur le bouton de blocage et extraire le tenon du logement (Fig. 6).
ACCOUPLEMENT DE TRÉPIED : (Fig. 7)
Pour fixer les jumelles Infinity sur un trépied ou un monopied, dévisser (sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre) le
capuchon à logo « B » qui masque l’accouplement taraudé à l’intérieur de la charnière centrale et le ranger dans un
endroit sûr. Utiliser un adaptateur de trépied de jumelles compatible, comme le modèle n°161001 de Bushnell (un
accessoire en L placé entre les jumelles et le trépied), pour monter les jumelles sur tout trépied standard en position
horizontale afin d’assurer une image stable lors d’observations de longue durée

La conception et la fabrication des jumelles Bushnell Infinity intègrent les dernières technologies d’étanchéité à l’eau
et antibuée. Les jumelles Infinity sont scellées par des joints toriques assurant une protection totale contre l’humidité.
La protection antibuée est réalisée par une purge à l’azote sec qui élimine toute humidité interne.
ENTRETIEN
Les jumelles Bushnell Infinity offriront des années de service sans problème si elles font l’objet d’un entretien courant
semblable à celui de tout autre instrument optique de qualité.
1. Éviter les chocs brusques. Poser les jumelles délicatement sur les surfaces dures.
2. Tirer sur la courroie après l’avoir attachée pour s’assurer qu’elle est solidement fixée aux jumelles avant de la
passer autour du cou.
3. Autant que possible, ranger les jumelles dans un endroit frais et sec.
NETTOYAGE
1. Souffler la poussière et autres débris des lentilles (ou utiliser un pinceau pour lentille à poils souples).
2. Pour éliminer la saleté ou les traces de doigts, nettoyer avec un chiffon doux en frottant d’un mouvement
circulaire. L’emploi d’un chiffon rêche ou un frottement excessif peuvent rayer la surface des lentilles et causer des
dommages permanents. Le chiffon de nettoyage en « microfibre » lavable fourni avec les jumelles est idéal pour le
nettoyage courant des verres. Il suffit d’embuer légèrement la lentille avec l’haleine, puis de l’essuyer délicatement
avec le chiffon en microfibre.
3. Pour effectuer un nettoyage plus poussé, utiliser éventuellement des mouchoirs en papier de type photo avec un
liquide nettoyant pour objectif photo ou de l’alcool isopropylique. Toujours appliquer le liquide nettoyant sur le
mouchoir, jamais directement sur la lentille.
