Thank you for purchasing a CCRadio2. The CCRadio2 has many of the
refinements and improvements requested y customers who have
ought other CCRadios. The CCRadio2 is uilt for the highest perfor-
mance ever on AM and has een designed to e long lasting.
Youʼll notice that we removed the television (TV) and from the radio.
This change was necessary ecause of the new government mandated
digital format set for Fe ruary of 2009. We have replaced the TV and
with the 2-Meter VHF Ham and. For many radio listeners the addition
of the 2-Meter VHF Ham and will e their first experience with amateur
(ham) radio. I hope you have the time to explore this and. What youʼll
hear is a lot of dedicated radio people using a communication device
with pride. You will especially want to tune in to 2-Meter VHF during a
local, area-wide emergency when communications will e very different.
When the power in an area is down, and cell phones and other modes
of communication are unavaila le, many hams use porta le equipment
that lets them work as eacons of information. They have direct com-
munication with federal agencies and the Red Cross. We recommend
that you find out which local 2-Meter frequencies are used during an
emergency in your area and have them installed into the five memory
locations.

Note: When you see a “•” next to a button on the radio, it means you must
press and hold the button down for two seconds to activate the function.
he appropriate symbol will then appear on the display along with sounding
a “beep”. If the radio is turned off, the beep volume is significantly reduced.
To deactivate the Alarm and Timer functions, press and hold the but-
ton until it beeps again and the symbol disappears from the display.

The CCRadio2 will run on (4) “D” size NiMH or alkaline batteries or on
120V AC house urrent using the in luded power ord. Batteries are
optional. The batteries are ne essary to retain the timer, lo k, and
memory settings if the power ord is removed from the radio for more
than three minutes.
Re hargeable batteries work well in this radio. The Battery Power Level
Indi ator will be lower be ause the total voltage is lower for re harge-
able batteries.
Before poweri g your radio be sure to read
the Safety I structio s o pages 27 a d 28.
Before you plug the AC ord into the radio be sure the AC voltage is
120Volts/60Hz. If you have batteries in the radio and you use the AC
power ord, the batteries will automati ally be dis onne ted.
NOTE: If you remove the power ord without turning the radio OFF, the
radio will automati ally revert to the batteries.

the drawing bel w. Be sure the negative (-) end is against the
spring. Refer t the drawing bel w t insure c rrect installati n f

seven sec nds when the radi is switched ff. After rem ving dead
batteries f r replacement, y u have appr ximately three minutes t

Getting Started
Please read this entire section carefully before you start. S t th
tim with th radio off. You must go through th st ps list d b low
without stopping for mor than 15 s conds at any giv n tim or you will
hav to start ov r. (R f r to pag 5 for Button Id ntification.)
1) Pr ss th Clock S t Button. Th hour digit will flash.
2) Using th Up/Down Tuning Button, s l ct th appropriat
hour digit and AM or PM.
3) Pr ss th Clock S t Button again to s l ct th minut s digits, th
minut s digits will flash. Us th Up/Down Buttons to adjust th
minut s to th appropriat tim .
4) You ust pr ss th Clock S t Button again to compl t th tim
s tting. This also s ts th s conds to “00”.

to wak up to th radio or to a ton . You can s t th alarm with th
radio on or off. If th radio is off, th b p volum is significantly r duc d.
To set the type of alar :
Pr ss and hold th Alarm Button until you h ar a
b p and s on of th s symbols flashing on
th display.
To wak with th radio: Whil Alarm is flashing on
th display, pr ss th Clock S t Button until you s th symbol shown
to th right. Wh n th alarm go s off th radio will play th last station
s l ct d at th sam volum l v l last s t.
To wak with a multi l v l ton : Whil Alarm is flashing,
pr ss th Clock S t Button until you s th symbol shown to th right.
To shut off the alar function: Pr ss and hold th Alarm Button until
you h ar a short b p and th alarm symbol disapp ars.
To set the alar ti e:
1) Pr ss and hold th Alarm Button, th hour digit and Alarm
symbol will flash.
2) Using th Up/Down Tuning Button, s l ct th appropriat
hour.
3) Pr ss th Alarm Button again. Us th Up/Down Tuning Buttons
to adjust th minut to th appropriat tim .
4) Pr ss th Alarm Button again to compl t th alarm s tting.

You can also set the alarm time imme iately after selecting the ra io or
buzzer alarm as escribe on page 9.
To stop the a arm from going off every day, press and ho d the A arm
Button unti ALARM disappears from the disp ay.
Once the alarm is set, it will automatically go off the next ay at the same
time. Use the Power Button to shut off the alarm until the next ay.
If the ra io alarm is selecte , tune the ra io to your favorite station an set
the volume before turning your ra io off for the ay. When the alarm acti-
vates, the ra io will play the last station listene to.
The tone alarm is calle HWS or Humane Wake (if that is possible)
System. The alarm tone beep will increase in volume every 15 secon s for
one minute followe by one minute of silence before repeating the cycle.
The alarm system will soun for one hour unless turne off by pressing
the Power Button.
When the buzzer alarm is soun ing, if you press any button except the
Power Button, the alarm will temporarily stop for five minutes. The little Zs
an Alarm symbol will flash on the isplay (above the little be ) while the
ra io is in snooze mo e. To shut off the alarm an snooze feature press
the Power Button.
Your CCRa io2 is equippe with a Sleep Timer that enables the ra io to
continue playing for up to 120 minutes after activation, then shuts the
ra io off. Selectable times are 60, 45, 30, 15, 120, an 90 minutes.
Press an hol the Power / Sleep Button until the pictograph of
a person in be an the numbers 120 are isplaye .
Hol ing the Power / Sleep Button own will re uce the time in steps,
showing times of 60, 45, 30, 15, 120, an 90 minutes. If you miss the time
you want, simply continue hol ing the button until the esire time shows
on the isplay. Release the button. Now the pictograph of the person in
be will appear on the isplay. The ra io will then shut off after the set
amount of time. To eactivate the Sleep Timer, simply shut the ra io off
using the Power Button.
