TESTING
Plug the battery lead into the pump lead, place water in the tank and witch on the pump u ing the remote witch
on the handle. Note that the pump prime more efficiently by removing the checkvalve. Reconnect once the fluid
ha pa ed through the pump.
Check for nozzle blockage , air in the inlet ho ing (between tank and pump), and water leak . Tighten ho e
clamp and other plumbing fitting a required. When the pump i turned off there hould be no drip from the
nozzle .
The pre ure gauge may not return to zero with the pump i witched off. The non-drip checkvalve on the boom
do not open unle the pre ure in the boom i above 5 to 7 PSI (0.35 to 0.5 Bar), o with the pump off, ome
pre ure may till be in the tubing from pump to boom.

8
THEORY OF OPERATION
Spray fluid i prepared and placed in the tank via the lid opening and trainer ba ket. Foreign matter i trapped in
the trainer me h for di po al after the tank ha been filled.
When the pump i witched on power i applied to the pump motor from the battery. When the pump operate ,
fluid i drawn through the filtered uction line into the pump head.
With each rotation of the pump motor, fluid i forced via valve into a high-pre ure chamber in the pump head.
Fluid exit from the chamber via a check valve and pa e into the boom or pray nozzle.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (TURFMATE)

1. Put water in the tank, witch on pump, and mea ure the volume of liquid from each nozzle in one minute.
The total volume collected divided by the number of nozzle i the Flow Rate per Nozzle in litre per
minute.
2. Calculate the forward peed of prayer by mea uring time taken to walk 20 metre :
20 metre in 36 econd i 2 km/hr
20 metre in 24 econd i 3 km/hr
20 metre in 18 econd i 4 km/hr
20 metre in 14.4 econd i 5 km/hr
3. Determine application rate of pray olution to turf by u ing the above chart.
e.g. If the average flow rate i 0.9 litre /minute and the forward peed i 3 km/hour, the application rate i
36 litre per 1,000 quare metre . (36 litre per 1,000 quare metre i equivalent to 3.6 litre per 100
quare metre or 360 litre per hectare).
4. Determine chemical required per tank by calculating the recommended chemical application rate per
metre then multiplying that figure by the area (in metre ) covered per tank a hown in the chart.
e.g. Average nozzle flow rate i 0.9 litre /minute and the forward peed 3 km/hour will re ult in 1,390
quare metre prayed. If ay Banvine i u ed at 40ml per 100 quare metre (0.4 x 1,390ml) or 556ml i
required per tank.

9
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (LINEMARKER)
1. Nozzle flow rate i determined by the pump outlet and the ize of re trictor at the return elbow.
2. Application rate will depend on nozzle flow rate and forward peed. Therefore to vary the concentration of
marker dye on the line the operator can vary peed, or if ab olutely nece ary by altering the ize of
re triction.
NOTE
Too much re triction at the return elbow will increa e praying pre ure and may cau e the pump to ‘cycle’ (turn
on and off). Avoid pump ‘cycling’. Thi i cau ed by the automatic pre ure witch (normally et at 60 PSI)
witching the pump off momentarily a pre ure in the ho e reache 60 PSI (4 Bar).
3. Mix dye, empty into tank and pray by turning on the pump with the ma ter witch.
4. Two adju tment can be made to et the line width.
(a) The entire nozzle body can be rai ed or lowered by changing the mounting hole u ed.
(b) The nozzle tip can be rotated through 360° to adju t the angle of pray.
Two Method of Line Width Adju tment
5. Alway flu h the tank and pump with clean water everal time after u e. Check the uction filter.
OPERATING HINTS
Pressure G uge
The pre ure gauge will indicate any variation in flow rate . If the pre ure reading i uddenly higher than normal
then nozzle flow rate ha been reduced by a light blockage or kinked ho e. If pre ure i lower than normal,
either the battery charge i low, the pump i faulty or there i a leak in the ho ing or fitting . Air hould not be in
the ho ing. If air i pre ent, check the fitting between the tank and pump.
The nozzle may wear eventually after many year but in turf praying, e pecially at the low pre ure u ed,
nozzle wear will not cau e major pre ure fluctuation .
Nozzles
Be wary of blockage or of any di tortion in the pray pattern. The tandard nozzle upplied with the linemarker
unit i ‘015-80’. The bayonet nozzle cap align the nozzle and retain both nozzle and lotted filter. Routinely
check the e filter , removing the cap by twi ting half a turn clockwi e.
Checkv lves
The non-drip checkvalve (4cm above each nozzle) hould eliminate dripping. If dripping continue after pump
hutoff, un crew the collar on the checkvalve and en ure that the diaphragm i ound and that there i no debri .
Pump
If a light leak develop from between the pumphead component , gently tighten the pumphead crew . If
however, the leak per i t or if a leak i ob erved from between the pumphead and the motor it elf, cea e
operation immediately and have the pump erviced.
CAUTION
Do not run the pump dry unnece arily

10
MAINTENANCE
Keep the prayer in good condition. Cleanline and maintenance are e ential for afe and trouble free
operation.
Cle ning
Flu h unit out after u e with a mild detergent olution. Leave fre h water in the pump y tem for torage. The
boom may need thorough flu hing after u ing wettable powder . Remove the nozzle cap at either end of the
boom and pump about 20 litre of clean water through the boom.
Filters
Check the filter regularly and clean/replace if nece ary.
B ttery M inten nce
Check the electrolyte level once a month. If found lower than middle of UPPER and LOWER LEVEL, add
di tilled water to re tore the level. Never u e acid in thi ca e.
Alway keep the battery clean. Apply grea e around the terminal to prevent corro ion.
Keep the exhau t tube/breather free of kink and ob truction .
Check the battery fluid level. When toring the prayer for any length of time, en ure the battery ha been
fully charged prior to torage, and i recharged weekly.
CAUTION
If purcha ing your own battery charger, remember it mu t not deliver more than 1.2 amp at 12 volt otherwi e
the battery may get damaged.
