1. General information
1.1 Warning
General Information on the assembly of this 16” bike
This 16” bike can be used by children aged at least 3.5 years if they are
properly supervised and the risks involved have been understood. Keep the
disassembled 16” bike out of the reach of children to avoid any risk of
suocation on loose parts or plastic bags. This 16” bike must be assembled
by a competent adult, who has read the detailed assembly instructions,
before use by a child. This manual contains important instructions on the
assembly, safety, use and maintenance of your 16” bike. Before using the
16” bike, we recommend that you read these instructions carefully.
1.2 Weight limit
Maximum rider weight: 35 kgs
Minimum rider age: 3.5 years
2. Getting started
2.1 Let’s assemble your CAKE 16” bike
Okay, now that we have that out of the way, let’s start to assemble the bike.
As you may have noticed, this 16” bike comes partially assembled upon delivery.
No matter how many times you’ve done this before, please note that it is
essential to meticulously follow the assembly instructions in this manual.
In the box, you’ll find the bike frame assembled with wheels and seat, the
handlebar and a M5 Allen Key. The use and/or integration of accessories
not approved by the manufacturer is not permitted, as these may not be
compatible with the 16” bike and cause damage to it. Please note that the
addition of luggage racks, or other accessories that would un16” the 16”
bike are not recommended; such additions may cause the rider to fall and
cause serious injury. Basically, what we’re saying is this - have fun with the
bike as is, don’t try to turn it into a spaceship

2.2 Assemble step-by-step
Step 1 : Unboxing
First of all we need to remove the shipping box. Avoid using sharp objects
when unpacking and removing the protective pieces. By doing so, you avoid
risking damage to both yourself as well as the paint or individual parts. The
unassembled bike and shipping box contains small parts and plastic bags
that pose a choking hazard to young children so please keep these away
from kids. When the 16” bike is finally out of the box, gently remove the
protective elements and take out the M5 Allen key and a 15mm wrench.
Step 2 : Install the bar
The 16” bike has a “threadless” headset system which uses a series of spacers
that could be adjusted under or over the stem to adjust the height of the
handlebar.
To install the bar remove the 4 allen head screws at the front of the stem.
Position the handlebar and make sure to don’t twist the brake cables. Tighten
the 4 bolts until you feel sucient resistance for the stem to be firmly fixed
and make sure to have an even spacing between the front plat and the stem
both top and bottom.

Step 3 : Handlebar adjustment
Loosen the two bolts on the stem and align the Bar and stem to the front
wheel and tighten the bolts evenly until you feel sucient resistance for
the stem to be firmly fixed.
WARNING: Failure to tighten the stem screw correctly can lead to serious
accidents. You can and should check that the handlebar is firmly fixed by:
1. Blocking the front wheel between your two legs, grab the handlebar
grips using both of your hands.
2. Checking that the stem is firmly fixed on the fork crown, by turning it
left and right. If properly fitted, it shouldn’t be able to move at all. If it
does move, even by a little, tighten the screw and repeat the process.
Step 4 : Adjust seat post
Adjust the height of the saddle using the M5 Allen key. Your child should
be able to have their feet flat on the ground, with their knees slightly bent
when sitting on the saddle.

Step 5 : Tire pressure
During transport, the tire pressure may have become insucient. If necessary,
refer to the BAR/PSI pressure indicated on the sidewall of the tires to adjust
the pressure using a bicycle pump.
Step 6 : Brakes
Make sure the front and rear brake works properly before using the bike.
Step 7 : Have fun!
Your CAKE 16” bike is now fully assembled and you’re ready to have some
serious fun!
2.3 Before each ride
To avoid serious injury or death, it is the responsibility of the person supervising
the riding child to ALWAYS:
• Ensure that the user of the 16” bike wears closed shoes and appropriate
protective clothing, such as (but not necessarily limited to) a helmet, knee pads,
elbow pads and other approved protection correctly attached and adjusted.
• In many countries, wearing a helmet is compulsory by law. Even if it isn’t
the case where you are residing, CAKE strongly urge you and your child to
wear a helmet whenever you ride a bike.
• Make sure that the 16” bike is used only on flat surfaces without obstacles.
We know that you may be tempted to rock out elsewhere, but never use
the bike near or on steps, sloped driveways, motor vehicles, hills, alleys,
swimming pools, public roads or other areas where trac and other hazards
may be present.
• No one below the age of 18 months or anyone exceeding the weight limit
indicated below should use this bike. This probably includes yourself.
• Check that the saddle is correctly adjusted according to the saddle
adjustment instructions.

• Check that the tires, the frame, the fork, the rims and all other parts show
no damage, that all the screws and bolts are well tightened and that all
the components are firmly attached.
• Check that the tires are correctly inflated according to the recommendations
indicated on the sidewalls of the tires.
• Check that the wheels turn correctly without diculty.
