Canon imageCLASS 2250 User manual

networked
workgroup
solutions
A small footprint in the office...a giant leap in office productivity.
Canon designed the imageCLASS2250 as an advanced digital imaging system that can
function as a stand-alone copier and Super G3 fax machine, or as a networked multifunc-
tion document-processing system, offering the convenience of copying, networkprinting,
network PC faxing and networkscanning*. Either way, it provides the reduced mainte-
nance and superior reliability of Canon’s EP-62 replaceable Single Cartridge technology.
Now, more businesses than ever can enjoy the productivity of several advanced office
machines in a fraction of the space, at a fraction of the cost. In one space-saving design,
you’ll be able to generate, duplicate and communicate information faster and easier than
ever before. With the Canon imageCLASS 2250, you’ll spend less time running from
machine to machine, and more time running your business.
Canon Digital Technology Advantages.
Unlike conventional analog copiers, digital technology streamlines the entire document-
imaging process. With Scan-Once-Print-Many technology, original images are converted
into digital signals, then reproduced from memory. With one quickscan of the original, all
copying jobs are performed automatically at up to 600 dpi. Digital technology also means
unsurpassed image quality, true to the original in every detail, regardless of whether
you’re printing or copying text, graphics, or photographs. Best of all, you’ll enjoy a new
level of productivity, not to mention the renowned reliability of an industry leader–Canon.
Maximize productivity without maxing out your budget.
The imageCLASS 2250 comes standard with a 50-page Automatic
Document Feeder, capable of handling documents from 8-1/2" x 11"
to 11" x17" in paper weights of up to 28 lb. stock. Also included is a
250-sheet cassette that is fully user-adjustable, from Letter-R-sized-
paper to 11" x 17" in weights of up to 24 lb. Bond, as well as a 100-
sheet bypass tray. An optional 250-sheet or 750-sheet Cassette
Feeding Module can be added for a maximum on-line paper supply
of 1,100 sheets. In addition, the optional Shift Tray can be used to
offset output when copying multiple sets.
Digital Technology for any workplace.
Step up to the versatility of the imageCLASSTM 2250 from Canon.
It’s the expandable digital solution that’s powerful enough to give
any size workgroup the outstanding performance enhancements of
digital copying technology and Super G3 Faxing, yet flexible enough
to incorporate the productivity of networked document management
now or later–whenever your business is ready.
Watch your cost-savings multiply with
Super G3 Technology.
Enjoy the significant cost-saving advantages of high-speed
Super G3 Fax technology provided by the imageCLASS 2250.
Transmitting documents at 33.6 Kbps (approximately3 seconds
perpage**), Super G3 technology results in substantially
reduced telephone line charges. So, a typical high-volume
user, for example, can save over $10,000 during a five-year
period▲ if upgrading from an older, conventional fax machine.
What's more, with 9MB of standard faxmemory, it will store
up to 576 pages◆ for transmitting or receiving documents up
to 11" x17". Other features include BookMode faxing and
receiving, and UHQVII digitalimage processing, which provides
256-shade grayscale and Edge Enhancement for maximum
depth and clarity when transmitting photos and graphics.
It isn't just how productive it is,
it's how productive it makes you.
Connected to your network, the imageCLASS 2250 makes it
easyto print images, up to 11"x 17", directly from your computer
while providing the abilityto interface with the entire work-
group. The MultiSpotTM NetworkPrinter Option, operating in
Windows®95/98/Me and Windows NT®4.0 and Windows®2000
environments, offers PCL®6 support. It makes an excellent
primary or secondary network printer within the workgroup,
delivering true 600-dpi textand images. Designed for maximum
output quality and throughput speed, it prints 16 razor-sharp,
letter-sized pages per minute. A parallel port is also available
for printing from non-networked computers.
Bundled with the MultiSpot Network Printer Option is Canon's
NetSpotTM Device ManagementSoftware, which provides every
user with an intuitive interface to make network device
management simpler. Easy-to-follow “point-and-click” screens
enable users to interact with the devices on the network
directly from the desktop. With NetSpot, you’ll be able to
complete multiple tasks in minimal time, such as confirming
printer configurations or inquiring about paper supply, job status,
device features or system conditions. Whichever platform you
use, NetSpot offers a level of user-friendly functionality not
available from any other networkdevice-managementsoftware.
One big network, one little footprint.
Enjoy the productivity of several advanced office machines in
a fraction of the space, at a fraction of the cost. Connected to
your local area network, the imageCLASS 2250 system lets you
print, copy, network PC fax, networkscan and distribute
documents right from your desktop by utilizing the MultiSpot
Document Distribution System option. This advanced network
multifunction document-management solution is designed to
give any workgroup enhanced productivity by allowing users to
send or receive faxes via their PCs, or share documents with
other workgroup members by using the networkscanning
features. You can even print while you're sending a fax, receive
faxes while copying or scanning, and more. By transmitting
the entire system’s
capabilities over the
networkto the desktop,
document management
is finally in the hands
of the people who need
it most–the users.
Image of a leader.
As the leading producer of network-connected multifunction
devices in the industry, as well as America’s #1 black-and-
white Copier and #1 Laser Facsimile Manufacturer, Canon
continues to set new standards for quality, performance and
reliability. That’s why you can trust Canon to provide you with
the solutionsyou need to make any workgroup more productive,
and any business more competitive.
