2. Removing Packing Materials
1 Remove and dispose of any packing materials
from the printer.
• Be sure to remove any orange tape.
2 Open the top cover and remove the orange tape
inside.

4. Installing the Ink Tanks
1 Open the top cover.
Caution
Do not touch the print head holder until it stops moving.
2 Remove the tape and lm on the ink tanks.

• Check that no tape is left over.
3 Slowly remove the orange cap.
Important
• Do not squeeze the ink tank with the
Y-shaped air hole blocked.
• Do not touch the areas shown in red.
4 Install the ink tanks.
• Matching the color of the ink tank to the label on the
print head, insert the ink tank into the print head, and
press down until it clicks.
5 Check that the mark appears on the screen.
Important
If the mark is not displayed on the screen even though
you have installed the ink tank, the color of the ink tank may
be wrong or you may have installed an ink tank, such as one
with a dierent model number, that is not supported by this
printer. Either install an ink tank for the correct color or use the
provided ink tank for setup.
6 Repeat steps 2 through 5 to install all the ink
tanks.
• Check that a mark is displayed on the screen for
each color.
7 Close the top cover.
• The printer will start initializing.
8 When the following screen appears, press the
OK button.
5. Loading Paper
1 When the following screen appears, use the [
and ]buttons to select Yes, and then press the
OK button.

2 Remove the cassette from the printer and
remove the cassette cover.

3 Slide apart the paper guides.
• Slide the right paper guide to the right edge. Align
the front paper guide with the LTR or A4 mark.
4 Load paper.
• Load 2 or more sheets of LTR or A4 sized plain paper
with the print side facing down.
• Place the paper against the front paper guide, and
align the right paper guide to the width of the paper.

5 Attach the cassette cover and replace the
cassette.
• W
hen attaching the cassette cover to the cassette, t the
cassette cover to the shape of the front of the cassette.

6 Pull out the paper output tray until it stops.
Important
If you do not pull out the paper output tray, an error will occur
when printing starts.

Remove and dispose of any orange protective material.
7 Pull out the paper output support.
8 Press the OK button.
9 Check that Prepare for connection appears
on the printer's screen, and then press the OK
button.

If you are using multiple computers, perform these steps on each computer. There are
two methods, " Online Setup" and " Using the Setup CD-ROM (Windows Only)
Provided".
1 Access the Canon website from a
computer.
2 Select Set Up.
3 Enter your printer's model name and click
Go.
4 Click Start.
5 Click If you have already prepared your
printer, go to Connect.
Note
The following steps are for Windows (except Windows
10 in S mode) and macOS users. For other operating
systems, continue setup by following the on-screen
instructions instead.
6 Click Download.
• The setup le is downloaded to your
computer.
7 Run the downloaded le.
8 Proceed to step 9 on page 5.

Setting Up the Printer
1 Install the "Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY" app on your smartphone.
• Scan the QR code shown on the right to access the Canon website, and then download
the app.
2 Check the printer's screen and proceed to each step.

Note
• The printer's screen turns o when the printer is idle for 10 minutes. Press a button (except the ON button) on the operation
panel to turn on the screen.
• If appears, the printer cannot communicate by Wi-Fi connection. For details, see "Frequently Asked Questions" at
"http://ij.start.canon".
Connecting to a Smartphone
If you are using multiple smartphones, perform these steps on each smartphone.
Prepare the following before starting.
aEnable the Wi-Fi setting on your smartphone.
bConnect your smartphone to the wireless router (if you have a wireless router).
See your smartphone and wireless router manuals for more details.
3 Open the installed app. 4 Follow the on-screen instructions to add
your printer.
Once you have added your printer, you can
print from the smartphone. To print photos, see
"Loading Photo Paper" on page 8.

3 Tap Settings on your smartphone's home
screen, and tap Canon_ij_XXXX in the
Wi-Fi settings.
Note
If Canon_ij_XXXX does not appear, follow the

Loading Photo Paper
1 Open the paper support and the paper support
extension.

2 Open the feed slot cover and slide the right-
hand side paper guide to the far right.

3 Load several sheets of photo paper with the
print side facing up and slide the side paper
guide against the edge of the paper stack.

4 Close the feed slot cover.
5 When the following screen appears, press the
OK button.
6 Select the paper size and type, and press the OK
button.
7 Pull out the paper output tray and the paper
output support.

Printing a Disc Label Using the Multi-Purpose Tray
Photo paper can only be loaded in the rear tray.
You can print a label on a printable disc using the multi-purpose tray.
For details, open the Online Manual and click Basic Operation>Printing a Disc Label from a Computer.

4. Installation des cartouches
d'encre
1 Ouvrez le capot supérieur.
Attention
Évitez tout contact avec le support de tête d'impression
tantque celui-ci n'est pas arrêté.
2 Retirez la bande et le lm sur les cartouches d'encre.

• Vériez qu'il ne reste aucune bande.
3 Retirez doucement le capuchon orange.
Important
• N'appuyez pas sur la cartouche d'encre
alors que le trou d'arrivée d'air en forme
de Y est obstrué.
• Ne touchez pas les zones signalées
enrouge.
4 Installez les cartouches d'encre.
• En faisant correspondre la couleur de la cartouche
d'encre avec l'étiquette de la tête d'impression, insérez la
cartouche d'encre dans la tête d'impression, et appuyez
dessus jusqu'à ce qu'un clic se produise.
5 Vériez que le symbole s'ache à l'écran.
Important
Si le symbole ne s'ache pas à l'écran alors que vous avez
installé la cartouche d'encre, la couleur de la cartouche d'encre
n'est peut-être pas bonne, ou vous avez peut-être installé une
cartouche d'encre non prise en charge par l'imprimante, par
exemple une cartouche avec un numéro de modèle diérent.
Installez une cartouche d'encre de la bonne couleur ou utilisez
la cartouche d'encre fournie pour la conguration.
6 Répétez les étapes2 à5 pour installer toutes les
cartouches d'encre.
• Vériez qu'un symbole s'ache à l'écran pour
chaque couleur.
7 Refermez le capot supérieur.
• L'imprimante commence à s'initialiser.

5. Chargement du papier

• Faites glisser le guide papier droit vers le bord droit.
Alignez le guide papier avant sur la marque LTR ou A4.
4 Chargez du papier.
• Chargez au moins 2 feuilles de papier ordinaire au
format LTR ou A4 avec la face à imprimer vers le bas.
• Placez le papier contre le guide papier avant et
alignez le guide papier droit sur la largeur du papier.

5 Fixez le couvercle de la cassette et remettez la
cassette en place.
• L
orsque vous xez le couvercle de la cassette sur la cassette, ajustez
le couvercle de la cassette à la forme de la partie avant de la cassette.

6 Tirez sur le bac de sortie papier jusqu'à ce qu'il
s'arrête.
Important
Si vous ne tirez pas sur le bac de sortie papier, une erreur se
produira au démarrage de l'impression.
Vériez !
Retirez et jetez tout matériau protecteur orange.

Remarque

ajouter votre imprimante.
Une fois que vous avez ajouté votre imprimante,
vous pouvez imprimer depuis le smartphone.

Les procédures varient pour iOS et Android. Suivez les instructions correspondant à votre système d'exploitation.
3 Appuyez sur le bouton Connexion sans
l (Wireless connect) et maintenez-le
enfoncé pendant environ 3secondes.

4. Installation der
Tintenbehälter
1 Önen Sie die obere Abdeckung.
Vorsicht
Berühren Sie den Druckkopfhalter nicht, solange er sich bewegt.
2 Entfernen Sie das Klebeband und die Folie auf
den Tintenbehältern.

berprüfen Sie, ob das gesamte Klebeband entfernt wurde.
3 Nehmen Sie die orangefarbene Kappe langsam ab.
Wichtig
• Üben Sie keinen Druck auf den
Tintenbehälter aus, wenn das Y-förmige
Loch blockiert ist.
• Berühren Sie nicht die rot dargestellten
Bereiche.
4 Setzen Sie die Tintenbehälter ein.

leichen Sie die Farbe desTintenbehälters mit dem Etikett am
Druckkopf ab, setzen Sie denTintenbehälter in den Druckkopf
ein und drücken Sie ihn nach unten, bis er einrastet.
5 Überprüfen Sie, ob das Zeichen auf dem
Bildschirm angezeigt wird.
Wichtig
Wenn das Zeichen nicht auf dem Bildschirm angezeigt
wird, obwohl Sie den Tintenbehälter eingesetzt haben, ist
die Farbe des Tintenbehälters möglicherweise falsch oder Sie
haben beispielsweise einen Tintenbehälter mit einer anderen
Modellnummer eingesetzt, der von diesem Drucker nicht
unterstützt wird. Setzen Sie entweder einen Tintenbehälter der
richtigen Farbe ein oder verwenden Sie den im Lieferumfang
enthaltenen Tintenbehälter für die Einrichtung.
6 Wiederholen Sie die Schritte 2 bis 5, um alle
Tintenbehälter einzusetzen.
• Stellen Sie sicher, dass für jede Farbe das Zeichen
auf dem Bildschirm angezeigt wird.
7 Schließen Sie die obere Abdeckung.
• Der Drucker wird initialisiert.
8 Wenn der folgende Bildschirm angezeigt wird,
drücken Sie die Taste OK.
5. Einlegen von Papier
1 Wenn der folgende Bildschirm angezeigt wird,
wählen Sie mit den Tasten [und ]Ja (Yes)
aus und drücken Sie anschließend die Taste OK.
