INSTALLATION
1. Install back pressure valve assembly so that arrow
underneath valve body points downstream.
2. Tighten inlet and outlet connections securely.
3. Valve may be installed in any position. However,
gauge assembly must be upright. Install gauge
assembly in either of the two 1/4 NPT outlets.
OPERATION
1. With system in operation, turn 84-351 Handle
clockwise until desired back pressure or flow rate is
obtained. To reduce back pressure, turn handle
counter-clockwise.
2. Tighten 20-262-1 Nut to lock handle in desired back
pressure position.
3. Higher back pressure reduces flow rate. Lower back
pressure increases flow rate.
4. If back pressure valve buzzes during or after initial
start-up, it means air is in the system. If buzzing
continues, reduce back pressure until buzzing ceases
then readjust to desired back pressure.
MAINTENANCE
1. Back pressure valve can be serviced without
removing valve from line.
2. To replace diaphragms, gaskets, or seats, turn
84-351 Handle counter-clockwise until tension on
84-365 Spring is relieved.
3. Remove 20-537-1 Screws.
4. To replace diaphragms, or to replace 84-388-5
Gasket, remove 84-363 Valve.
5. To reassemble, reverse procedure described above.
When reassembling, note position sequence of
diaphragms and gaskets. The 84-388-5 Gasket fits
between the 84-330 and 84-399 Diaphragms.
The diaphragms are located below the 84-463
Gasket. (See enlarged view.)
