Generalsafetyrules
Readthismanualcarefullybeforestarting,usingcarryingoutmaintenance,refuelingorperforminganyothertypeof
operationonthetractor.
Readallthesafetydecalsonthetractorandfollowtheinstructionsthereonbeforestarting,operating,refuelingor
carryingoutmaintenanceonthetractor.Promptlyreplaceanydecalsthataredamaged,lostorillegible.Cleanthe
decalsiftheyarecoveredbymudordebris.
Thetractormustonlybeusedbyresponsiblepersonnel,trainedintractoruseandauthorizedtooperatethetractor.
Usecautionwhenoperatingthetractoronslopes.Raisedequipment,fulltanksandotherloadswillchangethecenter
ofgravityofthetractor.Thetractorcantiporrolloverwhennearditchesandembankmentsorunevensurfaces.
Avoidusingthetractorinunsuitablephysicalconditions,stopworkinstead.
Neverpermitanyoneotherthantheoperatortorideonthetractor.
Neveroperatethetractorundertheinuenceofalcohol,drugs,orwhileotherwiseimpaired.
Whendiggingorusinggroundengagingattachmentsbeawareofburiedcables.Contactlocalutilitiestodetermine
thelocationsofservices.
Payattentiontooverheadpowerlinesandhangingobstacles.Highvoltagelinesmayrequiresignicantclearance
forsafety.
Hydraulicoilordieselfuelleakingunderpressurecanpenetratetheskin,causingseriousinjuryorinfection.
•DONOTuseyourhandtocheckforleaks.Useapieceofcardboardorpaper.
•Stopengine,removekeyandrelievethepressurebeforeconnectingordisconnectinguidlines.
•Makesureallcomponentsareingoodconditionandtightenallconnectionsbeforestartingtheengineorpressur-
izingthesystem.
•Ifhydraulicuidordieselfuelpenetratestheskin,seekmedicalattentionimmediately.
•Continuouslongtermcontactwithhydraulicuidmaycauseskincancer.Avoidlongtermcontactandwashthe
skinpromptlywithsoapandwater.
•Beforeremovinganyhydraulictubing,checkthatthesystemisnotpressurized.
Donotalterthecalibrationofthepressurereliefvalvesinthevarioushydrauliccircuits(steering,hydrauliclift,auxiliary
distributors,etc.).
Keepclearofmovingparts.Looseclothing,jewelry,watches,longhair,andotherlooseorhangingitemscanbecome
entangledinmovingparts.
Wearprotectiveequipmentwhenappropriate.
DONOTattempttoremovematerialfromanypartofthetractorwhileitisbeingoperatedorcomponentsareinmotion.
Makesureallguardsandshieldsareingoodconditionandproperlyinstalledbeforeoperatingthetractor.Never
operatethetractorwithshieldsremoved.Alwayscloseaccessdoorsorpanelsbeforeoperatingthetractor.
Enterandleavethetractorusingthestepsandhandlesprovided.Dirtyorslipperysteps,ladders,walkways,and
platformscancausefalls.Makesurethesesurfacesremaincleanandclearofdebris.
Apersonorpetwithintheoperatingareaofatractorcanbestruckorcrushedbythetractororitsequipment.DO
NOTallowanyonetoentertheworkarea.
Raisedequipmentand/orloadscanfallunexpectedlyandcrushpersonsunderneath.Neverallowanyonetoenter
theareaunderneathraisedequipmentduringoperation.
Neveroperateengineinenclosedspacesasharmfulexhaustgasesmaybuildup.

Beforestartingthetractor,besurethatallcontrolsareinneutralorparklockposition.
Beforestartingtheengine,makesurethatallattachedimplementsareloweredtotheground.
Starttheengineonlyfromtheoperator’sseat.Ifthesafetystartswitchisbypassed,theenginecanstartwiththe
transmissioningear.Donotconnectorshortacrossterminalsonthestartersolenoid.Attachjumpercablesas
describedinthemanual.Startingingearmaycausedeathorseriousinjury.
Alwayskeepwindows,mirrors,alllighting,andSlowMovingVehicle(SMV)emblemcleantoprovidethebestpossible
visibilitywhileoperatingthetractor.
Operatecontrolsonlywhenseatedintheoperator’sseat,exceptforthosecontrolsexpresslyintendedforusefrom
otherlocations.

When,duetoexceptionalcircumstances,youwoulddecidetokeeptheenginerunningafterleavingtheoperator’s
station,thenthefollowingprecautionsmustbefollowed:
1.Bringtheenginetolowidlespeed.
2.Disengagealldrivesystems.
3.WARNING
Somecomponentsmaycontinuetorundownafteryoudisengagedrivesystems.
Makesurealldrivesystemsarefullydisengaged.
Failuretocomplycouldresultindeathorseriousinjury.W0113A
Shiftthetransmissionintoneutral.
4.Applytheparkingbrake.
Usingthetractor
1.Selectthemostsuitablewheelsettingfortheworkinhand,i.e.:thesettingthatprovidesthebeststability.
2.Depressthespeedcontrolpedalslowly:ifengagedtooquickly,especiallywhenthetractorisgettingoutofa
hole,ditchoroperatingonmuddygroundorsteepslopes,thetractormayoverturn.
Releasethespeedcontrolpedalimmediatelyiffrontwheelsbegintolift.
3.Whentravelingdownhill,keepthetractoringear.Neverplaceshuttleshiftleverintheneutralposition.
4.Whenthetractorismoving,theoperatormustremaincorrectlyseatedinthedrivingposition.
5.Nevergetonoroffthetractorwhileinmovement.
6.Whenusingthebrakes,pressthepedaldownslowly.
7.Avoidtakingturnsathighspeeds.
8.Alwaysusethetractorataspeedthatwillguaranteesafeoperationonthetypeoflandbeingworked.When
workingonunevenground,usemaximumcaretoensureproperstability.
9.Ifyouhavetoworkwiththetractoronagradient,forexampleonhillsides,driveatmoderatespeedespecially
whentakingturns.
10.Proceedwithmaximumcautionwhenworkingwiththewheelsneartheedgeofditchesorslopes.
11.Whendrivingonpublichighways,observetheHighwayCode.

Keepareausedforservicingthetractorcleananddry.Cleanupspilleduids.
Servicetractoronarmlevelsurface.
Installguardsandshieldsafterservicingthetractor.
Closeallaccessdoorsandinstallallpanelsafterservicingthetractor.
Donotattempttoclean,lubricate,clearobstructionsormakeadjustmentstothetractorwhileitisinmotionorwhile
theengineisrunning.
Alwaysmakesureworkingareaisclearoftools,parts,otherpersonsandpetsbeforeyoustartoperatingthetractor.

equipmentinaraisedpositionwhileparkedorduringservice,unlesssecurelysupported.
Jackorliftthetractoronlyatjackorliftpointsindicatedinthismanual.
Incorrecttowingprocedurescancauseaccidents.Whentowingadisabledtractorfollowtheprocedureinthismanual.
Useonlyrigidtowbars.
Stoptheengine,removekeyandrelievepressurebeforedisconnectingorconnectinguidlines.
Stoptheengineandremovekeybeforedisconnectingorconnectingelectricalconnections.
Scaldingcanresultfromincorrectremovalofcoolantcaps.Coolingsystemoperatesunderpressure.Hotcoolant

Replacedamagedorworntubes,hoses,electricalwiring,etc.
Engine,transmission,exhaustcomponents,andhydrauliclinesmaybecomehotduringoperation.Takecarewhen
servicingsuchcomponents.Allowsurfacestocoolbeforehandlingordisconnectinghotcomponents.Wearprotective
equipmentwhenappropriate.
Whenwelding,followtheinstructionsinthemanual.Alwaysdisconnectthebatterybeforeweldingonthetractor.
Alwayswashyourhandsafterhandlingbatterycomponents.
Beforetouchinganyelectricalcomponents,disconnectthegroundleadfromthebattery.
Onlyremovetheradiatorcapaftertheenginehasbeenallowedtocool.Withtheengineswitchedoff,useaclothto
slowlyunscrewthecapandreleasethepressurebeforecompletelyremovingthecap.
Wheelsandtires
Uponreceivingyourtractor,checktheairpressureinthetiresandcheckevery50hoursorweekly.Refertothetable
belowfortirepressurefornormaloperation.
Makesuretiresarecorrectlyinated.Donotexceedrecommendedloadorpressure.Followinstructionsinthe
manualforpropertireination.
Tiresareheavy.Handlingtireswithoutproperequipmentcouldcausedeathorseriousinjury.
Neverweldonawheelwithatireinstalled.Alwaysremovetirecompletelyfromwheelpriortowelding.
Alwayshaveaqualiedtiretechnicianservicethetiresandwheels.Ifatirehaslostallpressure,takethetireand
wheeltoatireshoporyourdealerforservice.Explosiveseparationofthetirecancauseseriousinjury.
DONOTweldtoawheelorrimuntilthetireiscompletelyremoved.Ensuretherimiscleanandfreeofrustordamage.
Donotweld,braze,otherwiserepairoruseadamagedrim.Inatedtirescangenerateagasmixturewiththeairthat
canbeignitedbyhightemperaturesfromweldingproceduresperformedonthewheelorrim.Removingtheairor
looseningthetireontherim(breakingthebead)willNOTeliminatethehazard.Thisconditioncanexistwhethertires
areinatedordeated.ThetireMUSTbecompletelyremovedfromthewheelorrimpriortoweldingthewheelorrim.
Whenchangingorstoringtires,makesuretheyarestackedcorrectlyandcannotrollortoppleovercausingpersonal
injury.
Whencheckingtirepressures,inspectthetiresfordamagedtreadandsidewalls.Incorrectpressurewillleadtoearly
tirefailure.
Donotinateatirethathasbeenrunatorseriouslyunder-inateduntilithasbeeninspectedfordamagebya
qualiedperson.
Torquewheelboltstospecicationafterinstallingthewheel.Checknuttightnessdailyuntiltorquestabilizes.
Refertothe'TRACTORBALLASTING'sectionintheOperator’sManualbeforeaddingballasttothetires.
Usejackstandsorothersuitableblockingtosupportthetractorwhilerepairingtires.Ensurethejackisplacedona
rm,levelsurface.Ensurethejackhasadequatecapacityforliftingyourtractor.Donotputanypartofyourbody
underthetractororstarttheenginewhilethetractorisonthejack.
Neverhitatireorrimwithahammer.
Donotinateatireunlesstherimismountedonthetractororissecuredsothatitwillnotmoveifthetireorrim
shouldsuddenlyfail.
Drivingonpublicroadsandgeneraltransportationsafety
Complywithlocallawsandregulations.
Useappropriatelightingtomeetlocalregulations.
MakesureSlow-MovingVehicle(SMV)emblemisvisible.

theequipmentortractoriscoveredwhilebeingtransportedonatrailer.
Beawareofoverheadstructuresorpowerlinesandmakesurethetractorand/orattachmentscanpasssafelyunder.
Travelspeedshouldbesuchthatcompletecontrolandtractorstabilityismaintainedatalltimes.
Slowdownandsignalbeforeturning.
Pullovertoallowfastertrafctopass.
Followcorrecttowingprocedureforequipmentwithorwithoutbrakes.
Whendriving,donotrestyourfeetonthebrakepedals.
Towing
1.Toguaranteetractorstabilitywhenmoving,adjustthehitchingdeviceaccordingtothetrailerorimplementtobe
used.
2.Driveslowlywhentowingextremelyheavyloads.
3.Donottowtrailersthatarenotttedwithanindependentbrakingsystem.
4.Ifthetractorisusedtotowheavyloads,alwaysusethehitchingdeviceandneverhitchloadsontothelowerarms
orthetoplinkofthethree-pointlinkage.Thismayresultintippingoroverturning
5.Whentowing,donotnegotiateturnswiththedifferentiallockengagedasthismaypreventyoufromsteeringthe
tractor.

thetransmissionshaftconnectedtothepowertake-off.
3.Neverstandbetweenthereversingtractorandtheimplementwhenhitching.
4.Whenusingimplementsthatrequirethetractortobestationarywiththeenginerunning,keeptheshuttleleverin
theneutralposition,applythehandbrakeandusesuitablewheelchocks.
